This is a very helpful book one I'm sure I will refer back to from time to time. Such a good reminder to focus on what God is saying about us and know all people experience some form of rejection.

This probably wasn’t right for my library and wasn’t my favourite book I’ve read recently. I felt that it didn’t really offer anything new compared to other books of a similar nature. However, having said that there were parts of it that really resonated with me.

Knowing God

The author classifies and discusses two categories of rejection:
1. Emotional Rejection. He states that this is generally associated with feelings that one experiences when disappointed about not acquiring or achieving something that is desired
2. Interpersonal Rejection. On the other hand, he states that Interpersonal rejection tends to be more social, and it is this particular type of rejection that typical human behavior seeks to avoid, because after this type of rejection the person experiences a sudden decrease in positive emotion.

This book summarizes some of the author's personal experiences along with biblical revalent biblical scriptures. He also discusses Perceived and Actual Rejection, stating the difference and providing examples based on one's own discernment.

The author discusses some signs of self-rejection as listed below:
• Difficulty trusting God
• Depression
• Pre-occupied with dress and appearance
• Anger
• Critical spirit
• Suspicious of others
• Misplaced priorities
These are just to name a few, and he discusses some ways to overcome your inner enemy.

Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
(Ecclesiastes 4: 12 NIV)

This is a truly enlightening book, and the verse above is God's word of His Divine protection.

I feel it is great that the author not only references scriptures, but also provides a list of all used in the back of this book outlined by each chapter. This is a great read for those seeking further knowledge of why God doesn’t always answer our prayers when we want or how we expect then to be answered.
