Didn't really like how the fmc was written. The book was kinda boring and dragged out. Simply not my cuppa.

The premise made this book sound like it was going to be a winner. Unfortunately, it fell flat. It was quite predictable and really dragged on. It was also very repetitive - the entire book could have been chopped down and we wouldn't have missed any key plot moments. I really struggled to get through this one. There was absolutely no suspense or mystery until the end of the book, which was super predictable.
I also did not like the author's portrayal of women.
Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator Books.

What a creepy, causterphobic read! I was truly sitting at the edge of my seat the entire time. I think I need to go read a rom-com after that!

A really good premise and quite creepy in places, not least because most of the action takes place on the road and becomes a bit claustophobic. Enjoyed it a lot.

Ehh.. I am not sure what to say about this one. The suspense was great and I liked the premise of the book, but something about it fell a bit short for me

After finding out her boyfriend since college is cheating on her through a mysterious note, Emily decides to confront him at the location he's at: a var 30 minutes from their hared apartment. Poor Emily tells her friend what her plan is because she can't believe he would do this to her, and her friend asks if that's a good idea but Emily has made up her mind already.
When he gets to the bar she see the truth and her "boyfriend" is in fact with someone else and she's so upset she behaves irresponsibly. After she attempts to leave she realizes her car battery is completely dead and has no idea what to do. With no phone connection she isn't sure what will be her next move. In the end she decides to start walking the 30 mile trek home. After walking a few miles she comes upon a car accident but the victims don't look like they have been in a car accident. With no cellphone service still she has no options on what she can do for them. So she continues walking to try to get home and find cell service.
Not long after a car pulls up driven by a man named Daniel and that's when the story really begins.
She remembers she met him at the bar earlier after confronting her ex-boyfriend and is hesitant to accept the ride but what choice does she really have? She still chooses to walk because she doesn't trust the man, and when she declines he goes off on her cussing at her.
As she's walking Daniel keeps managing to run into her on the empty road. As in multiple times like he's following her, and he is definitely harassing her. For what reason she has absolutely no idea.
Poor Emily has no idea what she is in for this night as if it wasn't bad enough already. But as her walk continues it just continues to get worse.
I didn't really know what I was getting into with this book but I definitely would recommend this to other psychological thriller readers! The author made me feel bad for poor Emily, and some of the other side characters.

She’s trapped in a nightmare. But she can’t wake up…
My insides might have landed on my outside after concluding this book. You know, I am all about spooky books but horrified to the core?
Who am I kidding, I loved it.
Drumroll please…. I Won’t Let You Go
Even the title is horrifying but the book will leave you complete “shook” and begging for your mama . If I wasn’t checking under my bed before, I sure am now …
This book holds an explosive twist that will leave your head spinning. I Won’t Let You Go, is not a book you want to miss.
Teaser:
Emily is devastated when she receives an anonymous note proving her long-term boyfriend has been cheating on her.
Determined to confront him, she tracks him to a seedy bar far off the highway and they have a massive row. As she storms out the door, she rejects a stranger named Daniel who tries to pick her up.
When she returns to her car, it won’t start. Even worse, her phone has no signal, and no way is she going back into the bar to ask her boyfriend for help.
Emily has no choice but to walk. As she trudges down the desolate highway, Daniel drives by and offers her a ride. She’s scared by his sudden reappearance and refuses him again.
But Daniel won’t take no for an answer. As Emily walks on, he keeps coming back and each time he is more threatening, more menacing. As this terrifying game of cat and mouse steadily escalates, Emily begins to wonder if she’ll ever get off this lonely road alive.
But who is Daniel really? And what does he know about Emily?

A creepy, action packed ride! Cole Baxter doesn't disappoint. Suspense that keeps you at the edge of your seat! Thank you for the great book.

The plot of this sounds great but I was sadly disappointed. It was very simple and easy to predict although I admit it was terrifying at times. A premises of a thrilling physcological thriller.

This is my second Cole Baxter novel, and both left me wanting more. This MC is Emily, the other Baxter book I read had an Emily as an MC, and they are not the same. This annoyed me at the beginning as I kept flashing back to the other character. This book did not contain much excitement, and not big twist. Everything was straight forward, and predictable. While reading this I found my mind wondering a lot. Due to this I found it a struggle to finish this book.
I want to thank Netgalley and Inkubator Books for an ARC of this book.

I don't recommend this book. The plot is promising, but I never could be fully invested in the story. Too long chapters, where not many things happen. I didn't like any of the characters. I wasn't even rooting for Emily at some point because she keeps taking poor decisions. So, halfway through the book, I couldn't go further. I tried, but thought better of it. Two stars for effort.

What a good story.
This story really grabbed me and wouldn’t let go.
To think about going thru something like Emily did is just frightening. But at the same time in todays world it has become our reality.
Strong female characters and well worth the read.

Hated this book- story was predictable and read more like a 90s teenage slasher film. So disappointing especially when it could have been amazing

Emily receives a note stating that her long term boyfriend is cheating on her. She tracks him to a bar and they have a major fight. A man named Daniel tries to pick her up as she leaves but she rejects him. Once outside her car won't start, her phone has no service, and she refuses to go back inside to ask for help. She decides to walk and along the way Daniel stops and asks her if she wants a ride. She refuses and he leaves, only to keep coming back again and again. Each time he gets more threatening and Emily is terrified she won't make it home alive.
This book was a great cat and mouse type of story. It grabbed my attention and didn't let go until the very end. It was a great quick read and I definitely recommend it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

I am not really sure how to feel about this book.
Emily is devastated when she receives an anonymous note under her door proving that her long term boyfriend is cheating on her, with a picture. She quickly becomes determined to confront him and tracks his phone to a bar that is far off the highway. After confronting him, she storms out of the bar, only to be stopped by a stranger named Daniel. Daniel starts flirting and devastated Emily is not having it. She goes to leave only to find her car won't start, and she has no service to call anyone. She has two options, ask her cheating ex for a ride, or walk home. She decides to walk. As she walks down the desolate highway, she is approached by a vehicle offering her a ride. Guess who? Daniel. Emily declines. He drives off but quickly comes back. He just won't take no for an answer. Each time he circles back, he is more threatening leaving Emily with no choice but fight or flight. Who is Daniel and what does he want from Emily?
The synopsis sounds promising right? Unfortunately the book fell very flat for me. After the first chapter, I felt like I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. It was an intense game of cat and mouse. However, it really felt like a lot of "fluff" and going in circles. At 49% I asked myself if I should stick it out, or set it aside. The thought of not finishing a book would bug me more then sticking through a bad book, so I did. While I did find the book to be pretty unrealistic, I was still hoping for a bigger ending. The characters were dull. Not much character building.
This was not my first Cole Baxter book, however it was my least favorite so far. I have better hopes for the next one.
Thank you Netgalley, Inkubator Books and Cole Baxter for an arc copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is a new to me author and I have to say I am looking forward to reading more by this author! I loved this book
