I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

100 Great Pub Walks is a book jamp packed full of fantastic walks and traditional pubs to stop off at along the way through the British countryside. Living in the UK in a city, its often easy to forget how much beauty is still out there in the surrounding countryside, and this book has given me some great guidance and inspiration for new places to travel to and explore. The book is great for guidance on the surrounding walks for each location and broken up into parts of the country for ease convenience of looking for where you want to explore. There's lots of great information and even photographs for each location too. I'm definitely going to be checking a few of these locations out for road trips and walks this next year.

One of the great things about living in Britain are the walks. Watch any Jane Austen movie and a key activity that the protagonists do is walking. No wonder there are little pubs scattered throughout the countryside, all that walking sure whets one's appetite. 100 Great Pub Walks introduces its reader to the best public public houses located along picturesque and, dare I say, historic public footpaths. It not only gives clear instructions for the directionally challenged like me but also interesting tidbits about the sights/sites to be seen along the pathway. Highly recommended!

I have many a pub walk book on my shelf as my weekends in the sunmer and usually based pub walks in my area. So I was eager to read this and found it to be very well written, and it will come with my as I tick them all off!

Brilliant concept! This book has everything you need to know for inspiring walks around Britain, and all with a pub somewhere along the way. I loved the detailed route descriptions, carefully selected photographs, notes on what can be experienced on a walk in different seasons, and brief mention of notable historical figures associated with the area. Each pub is introduced in terms of what makes it unique and what kind of fare it offers.
The book is an incredibly well researched and thorough guide – a complete package. It makes me want to set off on many of these rambles right away. Highly recommended for walkers!

I think it is a brilliant book. I am very grateful that someone has put all of this together. I found that I have 4 walks right on my doorstep and I can't wait to explore them.
All of these walks appear to lead to a pub, they don't appear to be circular so have to walk to and back.
UK is full of wonders and we have some spectacular walks.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC, I really enjoyed reading it.

Well written book covering walks and things to see surrounding pubs. There is only one not too far from me but I will take the book on my travels. The unique nature of the areas is in focus. Much more interesting than I had expected.

Pubs are so quintessentially English, no other country has anything quite like them. As the American daughter of an Englishman, I grew up hearing tales about life at the local pub, which included everything from an evening at the dart board to a meeting to discuss war strategies during World War II. Kinsella’s beautifully illustrated guide takes readers across Britain on some of the most picturesque walks to pubs both large and small. ancient and modern. The walks range from an easy stroll for beginners to more strenuous for the more advanced. I enjoyed this as an armchair traveler

Great book, beautiful images – however haven’t tried any of the walks just yet!

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

A well-organised selection of pub walks, providing plenty of inspiration for various parts of Britain. Haven't had a chance to try out any of the walks yet, but have enjoyed armchair travelling by reading about them.

There's potential, a lot of information and the walks seems interesting. Unfortunately there's no map, at least in the digital copy, and it's hard to use
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I received a free copy of, 100 Great Pub Walks, by Patrick Kinsella, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is a great travel guide foe people living in or visiting the UK and Northern Ireland. The scenery is beautiful. Loved the pictures in the book.

It has great potential, and the walks sound good, but to me the most important part of any walk book is the map, and this hasn’t got any, it’s just descriptions of where to go, which can be a bit disconcerting as you’re not 100% sure if you’re going the right way, whereas normally you’d also check the map. Due to this I didn’t try any of the walks as I didn’t want to risk getting lost, so can’t comment on how good they are

In theory I love books like this. A selection of walks through the UK countryside which incorporate a visit to a nice pub for refreshments along the way. The book gives ideas of the nature that can be spotted in the area in the different seasons, gives a few interesting historical snippets about the pub and the local area and, of course, gives directions to complete the walk. It also gives public transport information to get there where applicable. In the past decade or so I've been to about four of the pubs listed in the book, and walked in those general areas (although not specifically on the detailed routes) and they are lovely, great choices for a book such as this.

Practically speaking the book is pretty useless since of the 100 walks in here, only one of them is in my home county of Kent, the rest a good 45 mins to an hour's drive away or more. Realistically, almost all of these walks I am never going to do unless I happen to be holidaying in the region. The chances of me doing this for very many of the walks while the information in the book is still current, since pubs, public transport and even the routing of public footpaths are all likely to change over time, is pretty slim.

The scope of this book is much, much too large to be of any use at all. Separated out by region, or even better by county, with more walks, then this would be a really great book; as it is, it's just disappointing.

I would like to thank netgalley and Collins for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Interesting walks with lots of information provided. I liked that there was information on what to see throughout the seasons and how to reach all of the walks via public transport.
