Herlot of Alonia is a great fantasy read! A little bit of a slow start, but it picks up nicely. The world building, the fantastic creatures, the powers and setting--All make this story a worthwhile read. I loved following Herlot and learning about all the things she can do. The only bad thing I can say is that I wish I had read this one sooner!

Herlot of Alonia tells the tale of a woman who is destined to save the world. This was a splendid fantasy novel. I love the world-building. It seemed very realistic! I love Herlot and learning about her gifts! There were many fantastical creatures in this novel that appealed to me. The story starts off slowly. Gradually, it picks up its speed. The only thing I did not like about this book was how it was told through the perspectives of many characters. It would have been easier to follow if it was only one perspective. Nevertheless, it was an engaging fantasy series! I can’t wait for the sequel!
