A tense and creepily dark thriller with a interesting and unique plot. I enjoyed the romance in this one too. A legal matter that will keep you on your toes.
Congratulations on an eye-catching cover! It caught my eye and made me read the synopsis.
The characters are just so well written and realistic, the tension is built so effectively and you really do have no idea where the storyline is going or what the outcome is going to be!
Sandra Brown is one of my top ten authors. This book was every bit as good as expected. Pacy, interesting, exciting, suspense, a bit of romance with a strong storyline. The characters were all excellent and well portrayed.
Hard to put down as wanted to know how it would end.
A must read if you like this genre. I loved it and cannot wait for her next book.
I’m so torn about this book. I’ve read older stories by the author 20 years ago and now and then over the years. But this really feels over the top or just following a trend .
In parts I love the romance elements, I’m always seeking thrillers and romance and if you mix them, I’m all set.
Did I get thrillers’ vibe in here? Not as much as I wanted, in my opinion. Yes, there’s the cloud of that attacker not wanting to go back to prison, and his threat keeps it all suspenseful until the end. But there’s also a lot of other normal life going on in here. People find attractions everywhere if they are really looking it ,and, like in this story, both Zach and Kate act upon it.
And when there’s a spark, there’s total fire. And I mean literally fire, because the story has lots of sex on the page. I’m all in for it if I’m to being honest.
Overall, I enjoyed it for an unexpected and relaxing book.
🆓📖Very grateful to the publisher for my review copy through NetGalley
I thoroughly enjoyed this story ,the characters were good and the suspense kept going to the end. Love ,murder and a moral issue.
A gripping, well plotted, and entertaining thriller that I throughly enjoyed. I loved the characters, how the romance works and is part of the story, and the tense thriller.
It kept me on the edge till the end.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
I enjoyed this book. It had action and just enough romance that it added to the plot (rather than make me want to throw my kindle across the room). The characters were well written and the main character's dilemma was written so you sympathised with him.
Overkill by Sandra Brown.
Zach Bridger hasn't seen his ex-wife since their divorce. So he's shocked to learn that not only has Rebecca been placed on life support following an assault, but he's also still her Power of Attorney. Buckling under the responsibility, he leaves Rebecca in the care of her parents. Years later, when Rebecca's attacker is released from prison, savvy state prosecutor Kate is determined to see him justly punished. But Kate's ambitious legal strategy puts Zach in yet another heart-wrenching position regarding Rebecca's care. While he wrestles with the decision that no one should have to make, Zach and Kate's mutual attraction grows irresistible. Little do they know that Rebecca's attacker has no intention of going back to prison. He's plotting to stop them both - at any cost.
I really enjoyed this book. Really felt for Zach. 5*.
I’m a huge fan of Sandra Brown, I find her books to have the perfect blend of romance and suspense. This book was no exception, I loved the characters of Zach and Kate and I liked the way the book kept the air of mystery around what actually happened to his ex wife. Sandra Brown has a brilliant way of keeping you entertained by the mystery rather than being frustrated by it and there’s always little twists being dropped throughout the novel. Once again another brilliant book!
