I never even thought about the difference between gaining weight from diet and gaining from hormonal changes. This was a helpful, eye opening book.
I was very excited to read this book but I can’t review it yet because I downloaded it in my laptop and I broke the screen and now I can’t access the titles there unfortunately until I get a new monitor and I can’t download it again since it’s archived. I apologize. I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review
Another interesting read learnt lots that I never knew about – which is always good!
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
Overall decent, but kind of the same thing most people already know. Would love some cotations. As someone with a hormonal imbalance and weight gain this felt very basic and like something I could have googled.
I love that this book talks more about function than just recipes and general diet tips. It teaches you and hormones and how genetics and levels in your body all play a role in weight loss and weight gain. Very interesting and easy to read. Highly recommend to anyone who went from easily losing weight to stuck in a rut.
Helpful to those who haven't heard the same things through life (lose weight, drink water, ECT). Wish there was citations or anything showing the things stated in the book are from a professional
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book. It's a very informative book -- it's well written and has a pleasant tone, presenting information about all the hormones and their functions in a very informative way. The author is even sensitive to describing the experiences of people "assigned female at birth" and "assigned male at birth." Much of the information and recommendations is redundant: maintain your weight, exercise, get enough sleep, drink enough water, eat a good diet. There are no references or citations provided -- and no information about the author's credentials -- is the author a nutritionist? Medical professional? Scientist? If I could confirm the information in the book - I would definitely recommend it to friends.
