An interesting follow up to the first book. The characters are more developed and the tone is darker.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an e-ARC copy of this book, in exchange for this honest review.

I'm just going to say that compared to the story of the first book, this follow up is way darker. I really loved the character development. That is one thing that I always appreciate when is done right because giving depth to both, Amin characters and secondary characters in my opinion is a very crucial part of the story. Ophelia keeps growing on me, I actually enjoyed a lot when she comes to term with herself and her role in Charissa.
On another hand, I love the new elements of magic that are newly introduced as well as the unexpected twists that did not lack of excitement.

A wonderful follow on from the 1st book.
The characters are more developed and it was so difficult to put down.
A great Fantasy read.
I was left wanting more.

Do you like magic, Fae, dragons, urban fantasy mixed with high fantasy? This book is for you! Lots of action and adventure and amazing world building! I received this book as an ARC through NetGalley.
It’s the first book I’ve read by this author. I’ll definitely get caught up with the first book in the series and the rest to follow! Im curious to see how Ophelia and Corrin’s relationship will continue to grow and what will happen to River.

An amazing follow up to a great sorry start. I loved how this had continued from book one and it’s left me wanting even more. So many new twists that kept me captivated. I love where this story is going!

I enjoyed book one but book two has left me feeling all sorts of ways. I like all the characters but Corrin and River are my favorites and although I hate what happened to them during Usurper’s Throne I can’t wait to see how this story carry’s into the next book. Keep ‘em coming!

Truly interesting! Unlike other fantasies, the way that dragons were incorporated really made the book fun to read. A pretty good fantasy novel and one I’m happy to have read! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the adventure and romance, and I can’t wait to order my own copy and immerse myself once again in this world. :)

Unfortunately, just not for me. The story itself was intriguing, but I was turned off by the author's writing style and the way the story was threaded together.
The Usurper's Throne was published in August 2022. Thank you to Relay Publishing, NetGalley and the author for the ARC.
