I would like to thank Netgalley, Mills and Boon and JC Harroway for the E ARC of this book.
We meet Stella who is a trainee doctor, she is due to start at a GP practice in London as part of her training experience. However, something happens and she has to be switched to another practice, the worst part of the new placement is that she has to go home to her Cotswold village – a place she never wanted to go back in to live in, never mind work. Add to this that she will be working with her teenage crush.
As Stella gets to grips with being home and what it means to be a country GP, she finds that living and working in a small community has its own special place. She is doing her best to not be attracted to Dr Aaron Bennett, as he is a single Dad and Stella has vowed never to get involved with single Dads again. The more they work together and get to know each other, the more their attraction grows. Can they be together or are they both too hurt by past experiences to try?
I enjoyed the characters in this book, I could understand why Stella wanted to stay in London, but enjoyed seeing her back in her home village. The plot was a bit predictable but still enjoyable to read.

Mills and boons, a mug of tea and a slice of cake and a few hours to wile away the afternoon mid appointment.
What a pleasure it was to spend together.
Stella a trainee gp escaping a broken heart to the big smoke, lusting after her lecturer from afar as they come from the same village.
Aaron the established single and dad lecturer and gp. What could happen!
This book a a lovely little romp!
Thankyou netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

A lovely romance between two doctors. We get the medical background and the cases they are working on, alongside the family life and past hurts all woven together. There are no surprises, just a lovely tale with endearing characters including a very cute 5 year old who steals few chapters. Perhaps a tiny bit too much medical detail especially early on, but a great read.

I read this author when she wrote for Mills and Boon's Dare line and wondered how she'd transfer to this line. I'm afraid her style doesn't work for me.

I found Stella and Aaron's story unexciting and unengaging and very predictable. Stella's behaviour was inconsistent and puzzling. She's supposed to be 28, and he's - about 40? Stella behaves more like an 18-year-old ingenue than a professional woman about to become a GP. I felt the inner conflict was unreal and sadly this just didn't do it for me.

Thanks to Mills and Boon and NetGalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.

One word, perfection. JC Harroway has firmly cemented her place as one of my favourite M&B/Harlequin medical romance authors with her second book in the imprint and with wonderful characters and a heart-melting and very sexy romance set in the beautiful Cotswolds, I devoured this pretty much in one sitting. I can’t wait to see what she treats readers to next.

How To Resist the Single Dad by J. C. Halloway
Mills & Boon Medical Romance.

When GP trainee Stella Wright left the Cotswold village she grew up in after heartache, she never planned to return there. But when her planned training position falls through at the last minute, heading to train at the local practice is her only option.
Of course that means she has to train under Dr Aaron Bennett, a man that Stella can't allow herself to get tempted by.

A huge thank you to the author, Mills and boon and netgalley for my review copy of this one.

As a romance reader it is surprising I haven't read more from the Mills & Boon series, but going forward I definitely will as this one was a great read.
The relationship between Stella and Aaron was written really well and I enjoyed it so much I read it all in one go!

If you are a romance fan and like medical dramas then this new release is definitely one to consider. I felt like there was a good amount of action and drama in the story, as well as a lovely romance to enjoy.
