Although The Millionaire's Wife is 5 years old, a new audio version releases this month and I was lucky enough to get an ARC from Netgalley. Full disclosure, I am a Shalini Boland fan and have read and enjoyed 9 of her previous books; this one did not disappoint.

The Millionaire's Wife is a solid psychological thriller featuring an intelligent, but foolish, Anna, and a past that comes back to haunt her. I cannot say the one line I want to say because it will be too much info and ruin the journey for you - so I'll just say, this one was unputdownable and I listened to the whole thing over the course of a day.

As to the audio part of the review, Katie Villa is establishing herself as an exceptional reader and her stories are well done. She has a distinctive, warm tenor and manages to voice both hardened criminals and hurting moms with the same level of believably.

Thank you to Bookouture Audio and Netgalley for allowing me to listen in advance.

This is my seventh book by Shalini Boland and it certainly did not disappoint along with the narrator Katie Villa we are taken on a powerful journey. The book opens with the traumatic death of a woman on a holiday beach hit by speeding how about a husband is distraught. We then cut to Anna Blackwell married to the man of her dreams who is wealthy and has everything she could possibly want. . but Anna has a secret and it’s finding more and more difficult to tell her husband what this secret is.

We then find that the death of the woman is connected to Anna when she receives a text message with the image of the woman’s dead body. The book then cuts the flashbacks of Anna with her ex-boyfriend Finn. It would appear that Finn had a pain. Anna was not part of this but Fenton seems to think she was. Well Anna and her loved ones escape fins evil plans.

Shalini Boland just gets better and better with every book. This storyline just holds your attention . The narrator has the knack of just drawing you in. I would highly recommend any of Miss Boland books to anyone and I look forward to reading the next one.

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to see An ARC

What a sick and twisted ride this was. I loved it! Told over two timelines with Anna and Finn in the past. He was always destined to be a loser but Anna stood by him despite all his crazy ways to get money. In the future Anna is married to Will and has the perfect life with a few secrets.

It's entertaining, well written, there was an unconvincing plotline but the rest of the story was so good I could let it go! I will definitely be looking out for more books from Shalini. I listened to this on audiobook and absolutely loved the narrator. The old cliche but she really did bring the story to life and perfect for the voice of Anna.

4.5 rounded up to 5
