The Millionaire’s Wife
By Shalini Boland
I am a huge fan of Shalini’s stories. This story did not disappoint.
Anna has met the man of her dreams. But when a message comes in on her phone, her perfect life shatters. The world she left in her past should have stayed in the past but this message of a dead woman brings it all rushing back.
I thought I had this story figured out and then the twist smacked me in the face.
Thank you to NetGalley and Tantor Media, Inc for the advanced copy of this audiobook in turn for my honest review.

Thank you to @netgalley and @bookouture for the opportunity to listen to the audiobook ARC.
This book sucked me in right from the beginning. The storyline is unique with many twists and turns and complex characters. The reader is drawn in to try to figure it all out. There is a split point of view from the main character as a teenager and young adult to a married young woman. The suspense is tied to both the past and present keeping the reader on the edge of their seat. The narration by Katie Villa is spot on and enhances the drama. If you enjoy some suspense then this book is for you!
I struggled really hard with this one, but the plot was good, so I think it was mostly the narration that was the problem. I would still read more from this author, but probably only in print or with a different narrator.
I loved this audio about a woman whose world is turned upside down after the random death of another young woman in a motorboat accident. As a long buried secret starts to unravel she risks loosing everyone she loves because of mistakes she made when she was younger. As the truth starts to come out it seems that things are even more disturbing than she could ever imagine and it’s a race against time not to loose loved ones and to bring the whole nightmare to an end. Loved this audio it’s edge of your seat stuff.,
How can you expect to give feedback if something was a dnf.
This book was basic and quite boring and it might have gotten better but I couldn't get into it.
Sorry
Just like always, Shalini Boland does not disappoint. The Millionaire's Wife is one twisty ride. Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, one shocking twist after another took this sinister tale in a totally unexpected direction. The audiobook was expertly narrated bringing an extra layer of mystery and suspense to this fast paced psychological thriller. This book is the perfect remedy for any reading slump. Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for my audiobook.
As usual I will not be writing further synopsis as I believe that the professionals do a better job. However, what I share might give something away so don’t read in if that bothers you. This is a book which is full of incidents and action once you get past the scene setting first few chapters. My main comment is that there are few characters in the whole book and certainly a very small number of key people. This meant that as the mystery element of the book grew, I easily guessed what and who was involved; it was so obvious. Introducing a handful more friends in the first section, would really improve the enjoyment and suspense of this book.
However, it is still a good read and is not too long a book.
I’m going to try and give my feedback without any spoilers but to be on the safe side o ly carry on reading if you don’t mind a few clues.
It was a book I found easy to listen to and I went wholly along with the concept of a crime being committed as a result of an obsessive love. However when the love suddenly became replaced by another just to seemingly move the plot to conclusion I felt very let down.

This was definitely a bingeable popcorn thriller. Definitely one to set aside real life expectations to appreciate. It took a little bit to get into the action but once we did it was a fun ride.
Secret upon secret leads Anna to be in a situation she doesn't know how to get out of. A text message out of the blue threatening her has her trying to reconcile her life with her secrets. I appreciated the handling of the secrets and the revelations. I don't want to say more in fear of spoiling anything which is so easy to do and ruin part of the fun of these reads.
Thank you NetGalley for the Audi copy in exchange for a honest review. Anna is happily married to millionaire Will. Anna receives a photo of a dead woman and her world suddenly becomes a nightmare. A brilliantly written thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
This book started off a bit slow but I ended up really enjoying it! The second half kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time and there was a major twist I did NOT see coming. Without revealing exactly what that twist was, I will say that while it was a bit unrealistic, it was also a super fun one. Since I am not from Europe, I also really loved the descriptions of the European countries and cultures and the overall character development. The narrator having a gorgeous accent didn't hurt either!
I definitely recommend for audiences who enjoy a medium paced thriller/mystery with a satisfying ending! I do not think you will be disappointed.
I like Shalini Boland’s books, but she does have a way of writing dithering protagonists that make you want to scream. This one was no exception. Anna is married to Will, and she lives a charmed life, seemingly wonting for nothing. She does, however, have quite a few secrets and that is where my problem with this book is based. Anna gets herself in such a kerfuffle because she avoids things and doesn’t share the truth. Granted, yes the story may have been shorter, but it would have made her seem a stronger and more believable character if she not dithered so much. I can’t really say too much more without giving spoilers away. This was an entertaining read and the narrator was easy to listen to.
Anna Blackwell has secrets that could destroy her marriage. All is well with her and her wealthy husband, Will until someone begins to send her text messages containing threats. The audiobook was narrated by Katie Villa; listening to the story was a good decision and I thought it was narrated well with Katie's engaging voice bringing the necessary worth and verve to the proceedings. Overall, The Millionaire's Wife is a super, intriguing, tale with a suspenseful second half that touches on obsession, greed, menace, deception and manipulation. Very highly recommended.😊👍🌲🔫❄
I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from Bookouture Audio via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.
I had a lot of fun with this book! And I'm not going to tell you anything about it, because if I do I'll ruin it for you! It's messy, sloppy, a bit of a guilty pleasure, really. The plot and character arcs are all the way preposterous, if I'm being honest. But I was still on the edge of my seat the whole time to find out what was going to happen next!
The fmc kept me interested despite her flaws. She managed to be both someone I respected and someone who drove me nuts simultaneously, which is kind of a good combo in a female lead! The villain is terrifying and infuriating, he's such a great antagonistic force. This book is definitely powered by these two characters and their palpable chemistry.
I really had to suspend my disbelief to accept many aspects of the narrative. I'm not going to list those, because I don't want to ruin the book for you! Read it, it's worth it!

The Millionaire's Wife was a great read by Shalini Boland. Anna Blackwell has secrets that could destroy her marriage. She opens an email from an unknown sender that has shocking images attached. This email shatters her perfect world. A woman was killed and Anna knows who did it. Unfortunately her past is catching up with her. She will do anything to protect herself and her husband Will. She knows that she has to tell him the terrible truth about her first love. Anna quickly realizes that she is not the only one who has been living a lie. Anna isn’t sure who she can turn to but the one thing she knows for sure is that her ex-lover is dangerous and she must stop him. I enjoyed reading this book and can’t wait to read more by the author.
Will and Anna are the perfect couple. They are great looking and very wealthy. All is wonderful in their marriage until a loser of an ex of Anna's sends her a photo. All bets are on. The ex expects Anna to fulfill a promise she made to him years ago. Little by little, the author drops a piece of the puzzle to the reader. I couldn't put this pageturner down. It is brilliantly written with plenty of twists and turns.
Audio version of this book 📚- This was a great listen ! Gripped from the first chapter to the last ! This author has a gift of creating storylines that are usual and gripping at the same time!
The narrator was excellent! Made the story easy to listen too
interesting plot, kept you wondering who was telling the truth. The motive was clear but who is in on it and following through? Bit predictable, couple of scenes very far fetched and unrealistic however an exciting read. Thank you #NetGalley for the audiobook to review.
Talk about irony/fate coming back around to kick you in the booty! A crazy idea thrown out by a delusional ex becomes a reality in the most astonishing and crazy way!! Such a wild ride and so many twists and turn AND a happy ending to boot. I am totally here for it!

"Everyone has their secrets. But this one could destroy your marriage."
This story bounces between past and present timelines as the past catches up with the main character, Anna. There are secrets in Anna's past that can absolutely destroy her future. We follow Anna as she tries to manage the past that she tried to bury, while not allowing it to affect her present life.
This story is fast paced and has a lot of twists and turns. While I enjoy a good twist, at times they seemed a bit forced and unbelievable.
This story did keep me entertained and I wanted to see how it ended. If you can suspend your belief, it is definitely a quick, fun read.
