I really enjoyed this short, but tense, nail biting story. It's pretty fast paced and there are a few surprises along the way, along with a small number of unbelievable elements (the unmentioned daughter). The story flicks between an earlier timeline, which lays the foundation, and the events of the current timeline, with characters who are interesting, although not particularly likeable (Anna is a bit indecisive for my liking) . The plot is decent, despite the issues in terms of logic. Overall a great read which keeps you invested from beginning to end - many thanks to NetGallery and Bookouture Audio for allowing me to get a copy of the book.

Anna is living the dream: married to the love of her life, Will, who also happens to be extremely wealthy. That is, until one day she receives a photo of a dead woman and the threat, "you're next." Anna is forced to confront the terrifying secrets of her past relationships.

This was a fast-paced, surprising psychological thriller! I really enjoyed the dual timelines of past and present, though the did confuse me a little bit at first. Anna was a pretty likeable main character, and Finn was the perfect character to hate throughout. There were a number of twists and turns that I wasn't expecting, which kept me on my toes the entire story!

This was a really fun book! I liked the audiobook narrator. At first the timeline jumps back and forth were a little confusing but then the story hit the ground running! I was surprised by the twists and turns and really enjoyed reading this. Another great book by Shalini Boland! I received a free copy of this book from netgalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

The Millionaire’s Wife is a fast paced psychological thriller. Anna and Will have the perfect life and the perfect marriage but things haven’t always been so easy for her. When a text arrives, Anna’s past comes back to haunt her and unresolved issues are brought back into focus.
This book kept my attention due to the story moving quickly between Anne’s life as a teenager and her current situation. If you can forgive the implausible storyline you will enjoy the book. A little too far fetched for my liking though.

The Millionaire's Wife by Shalini Boland ⭐⭐
Interesting premise but overall the story didn't emotionally grab me which made it hard to get into. I've tried a few books now by Shalini Boland (most of which I paid for) and I noticed on goodreads she's usually at a 2 or 3 stars for me so I'm probably not going to read further books.

If you like a psychological thriller then you will love The Millionaire’s Wife. This was my first time listening to Shalini Boland and I will definitely read or listen to another book of hers. It is a nail biting, edge of
your seat read/listen. Just when you think there can’t be anymore twist and turns more come.
The story centers around a woman, Anna, and jumps back and forth between the past and present, revealing two
important romantic relationships in her life. Present time Anna is happily married to her husband, Will. They have a wonderful life together but then one day, Anna gets an unwelcomed blast from her past. Her ex reappears with a disturbing text. Secrets and lies unfold with a murder which leads to blackmail. What will Anna do?????
Thanks to Bookouture Audio, Shalini Boland and NetGalley for the ARC.

I really enjoyed listening to this audio book it had lots of twists and turns in the plot and I like that in a thriller and
I couldn’t put it down for the first half of the book then it got a bit surreal and unbelievable
Anna the main characters life had changed so much in a couple of years but her decisions and actions to deal with her past just didn't ring true to me and if people are in danger I was thinking why not just call the police but I suppose that is what logical innocent people would do and that would finish the storyline
I still listened to it within a couple of days to find out the outcome, This book book started off 5 stars but unfortunately ended up a 4

I listened to The Millionaire’s Wife as an audiobook and I think it might be one of my favourite fictions of the year.

This was a fast paced, gripping thriller that was read brilliantly. I was completely hooked by this story. What was the relevance between the two timelines?? I was dying to know!
I thought it was a really clever twist when “the plan” was revealed, and why Finn had got back in touch.
I did find the cabin in the woods scene quite long, but the author wrapped up the story so well afterwards. (If you like the tied up nicely in a bow kind of ending…)

I will definitely be looking out for more by this author.

Thank you @netgalley, @bookouture and the author for an ARC of this book.

This audio was archived before I had chance to finish the book. Disappointing as I was looking forward to the listen.

This book took me on an adventure. I listened to this in car on a trip and definitely made the trip go by faster. It has tense moments with many twists and turns. As an audiobook, it took awhile to understand the time hop...but that has always been a me problem and not on the fault of the book. Overall, good suspense book with a mystery!

I liked the idea of this book and had high expectations for it—the characters were well developed, as was the basic plot, and it was easy to become involved with the characters' feelings and thoughts, which I liked. Is there such a thing as too many plot twists in a book? I believe so. And I believe that is the main problem I have with this book. I was excited to get started after the first twist, but then another one came along that seemed to take the book in a completely different direction after so much had happened, and it lost me. But the twists didn't stop there, and it was simply too much and too far-fetched.

This was a quick, fun, tense story. The subplot about what’s happening in the background that wasn’t initially revealed was pretty obvious, and the person responsible is clearly an abusive creep; part of the twist towards the end was a bit unexpected (with the other part being fairly predictable), and the ultimate conclusion was fine, although it felt reminiscent of a few other books I’ve read in recent years. Either way, it was a fun and fairly suspenseful thriller.

This is the story about marriage, ex-boyfriends, friends, secrets, money, and dreams.

This proved to be a really great and surprising novel.

Although I most of the time felt a need to yell at the main character that no good can come from keeping secrets, I sort of understood her reasons.
And the ending... mind-blowing!

The audiobook was awesome, and the narrator did a great job!

I like how suspenseful this book was. It start slow, but it is worth it to keep listening/reading. I didn't see the plot twists coming. A little far fetched. The narration was done very well.

Shalini Boland is very good at making you hate someone. The entire book, I absolutely hated Fin. I felt that a lot of the book was very hard to believe and far fetched. I think once you get past that, if you can just kind of go with the flow, you will enjoy it. It’s a very much “take it for what it is” book. I think if you think too hard about it and start dissecting it, it will be too unbelievable to read. That being said, if you ignore the terrible choices Anna, the main character made, the book is cute and cheeky and a super fast read.

I did enjoy all the twists and turns the brook brought. I was surprised many times by plot twists, which I enjoyed to the very end. I started getting frustrated when I kept getting interrupted when I was trying to finish the book because I was so engrossed. The end was heart pounding and hard to put down, which is always good in a book.

Overall, I believe this book is very good if you can ignore how far fetched it is. I would read other books by Shalini Boland.

Synopsis
Can you ever really know the ones you love?

After seeing a news report about the death of a woman on the other side of the world, Anna Blackwell realises that her past has caught up with her. That her greatest fear is about to come true. That it’s her turn next.

Uncover a web of lies and deceit in this chilling, twisty suspense thriller.

Shalini Boland has done it AGAIN. Her head must be an absolute machine jam packed with plot ideas. I’ve read so many of her books now and they just don’t disappoint. This is yet another fast paced yet easy reading domestic thriller. Woven of secrets and lies, I thought I’d caught the twist a few times and dismissed myself. I was right, but believe me my jaw still dropped. Absolutely fantastic. #Jorecommends!

Story:

Such a great suspenseful story with a twist that I really didn’t see coming (well partially really didn’t see - just read it). The build to the big reveal was really well-paced - I also found myself rethinking so many details as more information was given. Overall a very fun read and kept me on my toes until the ending. I think the ending was a little dragged out and had probably 5 more chapters than it needed. Regardless, I enjoyed the story and would happily read more from Boland!

Narration:

Villa did a fantastic job narrating this audiobook. She was very clear, easy to understand, and her delivery was easy to follow. The one thing I can think to critique would be the tone she used for the men’s voices. Not my favorite, but I understand she needed to do something to differentiate characters, I just could have done without.

Not the best Shalini Boland, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Maybe a tad far-fetched, but then who knows? These days anything is possible.

There are a few dreadful characters, and I have to question Anna's behaviour, I find it exceptionally odd. Had she just been honest from the start... maybe things would have been different, but that would have been boring.

Also, excellent narrating, I think that went a long way towards making the story enjoyable.

Thanks to NetGalley for my ARC.

This is my first book by Shalini Boland and I was not disappointed, I will definitely be picking up other books by this author in the future. I was gripped from the beginning and each twist and turn gripped me more. Throughout the book I tried to predict what was going to happen and 9 times out of 10 I was surprised by the outcome of the events of the book.
