Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for allowing me to listen to the advanced copy audiobook of The Millionaire's Wife. This was a suspenseful and thrilling listen. The plot twist was great and unexpected. The narrator did a great job with the story, leaving the listener intrigued and wanting more! This was my first book by Shalini Boland and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!

Anna invites us into her story at two points of her life; past, where she is young, in love and struggling to get by with her boyfriend, Finn; and present where we find her navigating life as the wife of millionaire, Will.

Her past is full of impressionable and questionable choices that lead to secrets she escorts into the present. When Finn's wife dies tragically, Anna receives a text letting her know one of those secrets is coming back to haunt her. With her life and that of her husband in mortal danger, how can Anna save them both and come clean without losing everything that is important to her?

This was a suspenseful and thrilling read, twisting the plot right up until the end.

I am wondering if the readers who gave this book 5 stars actually read it....? Or did I get a different book? I am also confused about how this is classified as a thriller. There were no "shocks" or "twist" it was just...so far fetched.
Shall we make a list? Yes, let's.
1. Husband sends wife ALONE to Sweeden to chase down a Murderer/Kidnapper in the woods, in winter
2.The fact that this book could have been 20 pages if they had simply called the police (several times!)
3.The two year old toddler is able to entertain herself and survive in a Cabin in the woods by herself
4.The fact that a girl you apparently scored the highest you could on her exams chooses to stay with a low life even when he proposes that she start prostituting herself.....umm really?
5.After the final scene (which was so dumb) results in a death from a character who somehow escaped another death situation (eye roll) two characters decide to have an iced coffee......?
Really?

I'm sorry this review is not that great, but the writing was very inconsistent, not well planned out and felt like a C Rated movie you find on YouTube for free. I am sorry to say I would not suggest this book

Thank you Net Galley for this advanced audio version of this book. I was not reimburst or influenced in anyway for this honest review

The Millionaire’s Wife was a twisty thriller with excellent writing. The storyline keeps you intrigued and guessing. The thriller level isn’t intense, so if you’d like to read a great story without being too on edge, this is the book for you.

The audiobook version is a great listen. The narrator does an excellent job with the story, leaving the listener intrigued and ready for more.

Thank you for allowing me to review this advanced copy audiobook.

This is solid 3 stars book.

It is easy to read and follow, fast-paced full of well built suspense. But it is also another book that could have been solved with a bit of communication. I might be growing old or may be I just turning into a cynical but there is no need to lie. Anyway, I did like Anna for about half of the book and then I didn´t. To many lies just for her to be comfortable, I found her so selfish it actually annoyed me and so stubborn that she keep getting things worse.

Still the book is good thanks NetGalley for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own

The Millionaire’s Wife
By: Shalini Boland
4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Anna and her husband Will are happily married. Anna is keeping a major secret from Will and her past catches up with her!

Her ex Finn starts blackmailing her. When they broke up he had a twisted idea meeting later in life with a scheme to get rich. Anna walked away knowing there was no way she was going along with Finn’s plan.

Anna realizes she needs to talk to her husband and let him know what is going on! No spoilers, but this novel was nail bitting! This was my third Boland novel and wanting more.

Can the past ruin their future?

I have both read and listened to several books written by Shalini Boland. The books and stories are generally entertaining, but I don't love them all equally. This was not my favorite one.

The story has two timelines, in the past when Anna is a teenager and together with Finn and in the present when Anna is married to Will and when her past starts catching up with her.

Normally I would have expected to empathize with Anna, but for some reason she rubbed me the wrong way and I did not care for her, nor her choices and behavior. I did like Will a lot! Other readers/listeners may feel different about the characters, so I would recommend they try this book themselves if the genre and synopsis appeal.

The story itself moved quite low to start with and perhaps due to it being an audiobook I was a little confused at the start jumping between past and present, but the last quarter of the book was a lot faster paced and exciting twists that I had not seen coming.

Many thanks to @netgalley, @bookouture and @shaboland for this unforgettable twisted thriller. It’s my second book by Shalini!

Anna happily married to the multi-millionaire Will. Until one days Anna received an anonymous email with a dead lady picture. She knew who did this and her secrets could not be hid for longer.

Anna’s past was catching up with her now…her husband Will was in danger and Anna had to reveal herself to protect him.

The story intervening past and present. I empathised with Anna, about the betrayal of friendship and love relationship. She had a good heart but people surrounded her were too selfish.

There were lots of twists, unexpected and gripping! If you like to read dark secrets, you will love this.

Sorry, but this was a DNF for me. Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the audiobook copy.

I’m not sure if I would have liked this better if it weren’t an audiobook. I didn’t love the narrator, but that wasn’t the real issue. The story moved so slow. I couldn’t figure out the relationship between the two couples that begin the story. I even went back and re-started the book thinking I’d missed some connection between the first couple and the second couple. I tried listening on 1.25x thinking if it got somewhere faster I’d get engaged. I just couldn’t get there.

After reading some reviews with a few spoilers, I now understand the relationship of the two couples. I just didn’t care enough to keep listening. I really dislike not finishing a story, but I know if I’m not engaged by about the sixth chapter (where I got to in this book) it’s just not speaking to me.

Re-RELEASES on September 19, 2022!!!

Sipping thoughts: I definitely didn’t see the twists coming in this one even though I know that is how Boland does it. And boy does she do it big. This is an audio release of this book already out. I am happy with how the story turned out and as always look forward to the next Boland’s release.

Cheers and thank you to @NetGalley and @Bookouture for an advanced copy of @TheMillionairesWife.

Good pacy thriller with lots of secrets and suspense. Dual storyline of past and present which was written well that you always knew where you were. I liked the majority of the characters and found myself invested in them. Enjoyed the narration and found it engaging. A few surprises along the way that kept you interested. The outcome wasn’t what I expected but still a good listen.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read #TheMillionairesWife

I went into this without reading the synopsis, and I’m so glad I did.. The Millionaire’s Wife had me sitting in my car after reaching my destination just to hear what happened next. The narrator is fantastic and really easy to listen to. I found myself literally gasping out loud a couple of times with the twists. It was a bit confusing at first trying to piece together who the characters were. had to relisten to the first three chapters to see if I missed something, but quickly found out that it was intentional. And I was so surprised with the ending. I can’t wait to read more of Shalini Boland’s books!

Oh my goodness. To start off with I wasnt sure and I really didnt get it, but the middle got much better and I was soon addicted. I really had to stop everything and keep listening which I did.

The narration really suited the story and worked so well.

I was given an advance copy by netgalley and the publishers but the review is entirely my own.

I listened to this book in a couple of days, I found the story a little far fetched but was entertaining and kept my wanting to know more. I felt there were parts in the middle that were abit drawn out and repetitive. I enjoyed the narration

2.5 stars; rounding up

This book had all the components of a captivating thriller. A lot of key plot lines that keep me interested and eager to finish.
Although it did keep my interest, it continually felt like it was leaning more towards Soap Opera instead of psychological thriller. Unbelievable revelations around every corner, no one is who you thought they were, twist after twist to the point where you're thinking this book is definitely ending only to have another dramatic turn pop up. It did become slightly tedious toward the end because of this.
If you're on board for thrillers that lean heavy toward unrealistic surprise twists (which is a quite valid interest for many) then this book will definitely keep you entertained.
I'd like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for generously providing me with this audiobook.

Holy crap. I’m honestly almost speechless this book was really good! It kept me guessing the whole time!

Anna seems to have it all. She’s happily married to a kind man named Will who just so happens to be a millionaire. However, Anna has a few skeletons in her closet. Her ex, Fin, shows up out of nowhere, threatening to take away everything she has.

The story alternates timelines between the present day and Anna and Fin’s past relationship together. While I enjoyed the two timelines and getting to know Fin for who he was, it was sometimes confusing in the audio version.

Shalini Boland had me hooked from the start. The twists and turns in this psychological thriller had me on the edge of my seat. I was completely shocked many times by the events that transpired. This was my first book by Shalini Boland and it certainly won’t be my last! I highly recommend it to anyone that loves psychological thrillers!

The Millionaire’s Wife by Shalini Boland
I listened to the audiobook edition narrated by Katie Villa. The narration was top notch and really helped bring this book to life. I found it to be dark and twisty. There’s so much to say about the book, but I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ not saying anything. Just go in blind and enjoy the very clever twist and turns along the way. This was my first Shalini Boland book, and will definitely not be my last.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookourture Audio for the advanced audiobook copy in exchange for an honest review.
