I did try and read this book but unfortunately the genre is just not for me. I really struggled to get into this book, however this is no reflection on the author.

Nora Roberts has many different styles, some of her books I love other they are a bit too fantasy/magical for me. I think this fell in the latter. As always, it offered great writing and settings and I think it will really satisfy the aficionados of the genre.

I will read any Nora Roberts book because I know I will never be disappointed and this one is a beauty. I don't normally like or read fantasy books but because it was Nora Roberts I thought I would like it and I absolutely loved The Choice. I feel like even though it is a fantasy, sci fi type book that the first book in the series really wasn't, we got to know Bree and her friends as regular people and from there it became fantasy and I was hooked. I adore Bree and her little dog and I enjoyed watching her character grow from strength to strength. I really wish that this wasn't a trilogy because I would love more books from this series. It has plenty of heart stopping action and I felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride that I don't want to end.

I needed to finish the trilogy so I knew I would read this final installment but I found these books uninspiring. The odd turn of phrases used by the people when they spoke got quite annoying very quickly. I also felt that this series lacked Nora Roberts’ usual humour that I have always enjoyed in her books in the past. The main romance felt quite forced, as did the side romances. I think perhaps I just prefer her crime romances.

The Choice
The Dragon Heart Legacy Book 3
by Nora Roberts

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: women's fiction

Gah, I hate that category, we're way past times when only women read books like this.
Anyway, I used to love Nora's trilogies several years ago, and I had high hopes when I started this one. I enjoyed the first episode a lot. I found I struggled with elements in the second, but the story was entertaining enough that they were easily pushed back.
This episode though, I just couldn't connect, and didn't finish. I just felt the story was so very different from how it started, the characters now feel jarring in their actions and it just didn't resonate with me. I got so lost and switched off I had to abandon the book.
I don't know if its just this trilogy didn't work, or if maybe my tastes have changed over the years.
As always its not Nora's writing that's the issue, just my appreciation of this particular episode. As I said I really enjoyed the first two parts, it was just this last part that I couldn't connect with.

Stars: Sadly just a two, but I didn't finish the story.

I was lucky enough to have gotten an advanced copy of this book to read from netgalley, unfortunately life has been crazy the last little while so I only now got around to reading it.

This book gets a solid 5 stars. I have enjoyed watching Breen grow her confidence and become the woman she was meant to be throughout the series. I think every single character is well thought out and well rounded. You love the characters you're meant to and can't wait for the darker characters to get theirs!

This third book of the series will take you through a rollercoaster of emotions. I laughed out loud, I cried, I shout. The way Nora writes it is so easy to see yourself in the book being a background character in the story watching everything unfold.

If you enjoyed the first two in the series then you won't be disappointed.

Part of an epic fantasy series. This is the final chapter. Breen has taken to her new life and power in Talamh and the world of the Fae. She must protect her new family and friends. She still has doubts that she will have the strength to make The Choice when the final battle starts. What’s not to love about a fantasy series with Dragons and trolls and Breen’s final battle with her Grandfather the god Odran. This book has all the background you will need to immerse yourself into this world.
Thank you NetGalley and (publisher, Little Brown Books) for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

This is the 3d book in the Dragon Heart legacy and mixes magic, fantasy, dragons and a final battle between good and evil. Great, great, great - I am giving it a lot of love...read this one!

For Nora Roberts fans, this is a well anticipated time of the year but it's especially so this year with the release of The Choice, the final part of The Dragon Heart Legacy.

It's necessary to have read the other two novels in this trilogy to fully understand and enjoy The Choice....but OMG Nora Roberts has hit this one out of the park!

The characters, their relationships and their dialogue is, as usual, of the highest quality (We'd expect nothing less from this author).

The fight by good against evil, continues to be compelling and only falling asleep took me away from this amazing final episode.

As a Nora Roberts fan, I'm never fully satisfied but only because she writes such amazing characters. As a reader, I feel that I should be privy to the continuing lives of them all. Sadly I recognise that's never going to happen and the end of some stories just need to be 'imagined'.

The Choice is an absolute must for Nora Roberts fans. In fact the whole trilogy should be on the list for lovers of dragons, magics, Ireland and the Fae!

The Choice by Nora Roberts is the third book in The Dragon Heart Legacy Series and I really enjoyed this book, even though I have not read book two I found it easy to pick it up from book one on this series. Sadly is the final book in The Dragon Heart Legacy, I found these books exciting, suspenseful, heart-warming, and made me laugh out loud! as well as heartbreaking! especially at the end. I did not want it to finish......But all good things has to end.

Welcome back to the world of Talamh, the world of the Fey, of magick & Sidhe & dragons – to the final conclusion of Breen’s destiny. I wanted this last book to be epic but sadly it fell short of my hopes & expectations. I remember how disappointed I was with the first book, and how nice it was when the second book got better. I wanted so much to love The Choice but though I liked parts of it, sadly I just couldn’t love it.

The romance between the main characters was downplayed – mostly the emotional impact was lukewarm and that just tanked it for me. As for the plot, too much detail was given to everyday things and for the last book in a trilogy, it made the story even less dynamic.

The ‘how’ behind some of the magic was not revealed for at least two key turning points for Keegan and it felt like this was overlooked when it was so vital. I felt cheated because Nora Roberts always gets this right.

The ending felt rushed and again had that lukewarm feel to it that left me feeling disappointed.

The parts that I liked a lot were the LGBTQ element of it – Marco and Brian were my favorite couple – the trolls, and the dragons. Oh, there was one scene that was so heartbreaking it had me in tears.

What makes me feel sad is that this trilogy had the potential of being dynamic & epic but though NR’s writing was rich enough for the descriptions – the rich emotions that I’ve always loved in her storytelling were missing and I was left with a feeling of despondency at the end of it.

However, this series has some good scenes and is worth a read.

A fantastic finale to the Dragon Heart Legacy as Breen Siobhan O’Ceallaigh fulfils her destiny in confronting her grandfather Odran in the hope of defeating him once and for all and thereby saving not only Talamh but all the worlds beyond from death and slavery.

Nora Roberts has woven together a fantastic mystical world of fae and Sidhe, trolls and merpeople. Of dragons and witches, of gods and demons. Of magic both light and dark and the choices people make which will decide their path in the upcoming battle where not everyone will survive but who will be immortalised forever in song. The character development throughout this trilogy has been amazing especially with Breen as she goes from a timid school teacher with no knowledge of her heritage to a fierce warrior willing to lay down her life for the people who had welcomed her into the homes and their hearts and along the way she even managed to teach Keegan, the Taoiseach a trick or two. The only issue I would have with this book is to with the romance element. I just felt too much of the story was given over to Breen’s relationship with her best friend Marco instead of with Keenan, her love interest. I just didn’t feel any real chemistry between her and Keegan possible because the majority of the time they spent together involved her training but I felt she would turn to Marco before anyone else. This is just a small niggle, I didn’t read The Choice expecting romance and I loved the overall story.

I enjoy Nora Roberts books. This is the 3d book in the Dragon Heart legacy and mixes magic, fantasy, dragons and a final battle between good and evil.

Nora Roberts mixes all these elements into and an addictive mix that grabs the reader.

It’s already known that I love Nora’s books for years and I couldn’t miss her newest and last book in her The dragon heart trilogy.
You must read them in order because honestly it won’t make sense who are the characters and what’s happening in here if you don’t.

It’s a magical story that has everything you an image it has: humans, dragons , great world building, some heartbreaking moments and a very satisfying ending, a sad one but satisfying nevertheless.

I haven’t read many books with paranormal and fantasy elements but this one is easy to follow through and understand what’s happening at all times.

The author has a great way with her words to make you feel all those emotions and place yourself in the story at all times.

Never a dull moment when it comes to her books.

I am a HUGE fan of Nora Roberts. Indeed, I have read most of her books!!!
I don't even like fantasy books normally as there is a danger of them being childish in my opinion... Nora Roberts once again proves her extraordinary ability of story writing, any genre, and make it a bestseller. What a gift indeed!!!
This books finalises the Dragon Heart Legacy and does it in style with magic, dragons and fairies :)
I recommend this book, this author, to anyone who simply likes to read... actually, if you don't like to read, I am convinced Nora Roberts could get you hooked! She is that talented....

Whilst I really enjoyed this book, as I hadn’t read the first two in the triology, it didn’t have the same depth for me as it probably should. So I will go back and read those instead! Apologies as I should have noticed that. Fantastic characters and story telling though

"The Choice" brings "The Dragon Heart Legacy" trilogy to a close, and while the end is fitting, satisfying, and as perfect as the first two books, I am devastated! The characters, setting(s), plot... they all grabbed a little piece of my heart and I'm a little bit broken at the though there won't be any more for me to eagerly await (until Nora Roberts writes the next series to hook me!).

My thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley. This review was written voluntarily and is entirely my own, unbiased, opinion.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I love to read Nora Roberts books.

The book, I found hard to put down, as there was a lot happening with the storylines in weaving together.

It was passionate as well as an emotional ride throughout the whole book.

I recommend this series. .
