very sweet christmas story with a happily ever after, love this author's books, always a good story.
A wonderful Christmas hug which would be in place on any bookshelf. I really enjoyed the family dynamics and the light humour running through this story.
If you're having a sad day then pick up this gorgeous hug if a book and get transported to a beautiful Irish village where everybody knows everybody and where traditional values of caring for your neighbours and making visitors welcome, still flourish. Our heroine,Shannon, is back with her family after a failed love affair bringing her broken heart-and her Persian cat, Napoleon-with her. Her four sisters join her there for a traditional family Christmas in their parents pub where they are joined by a handsome paying guest from America who brings with him an intriguing mystery as he visits one if the elderly villagers. Having sworn off love ,Shannon is determined not to be drawn into all the matchmaking of her family and throws herself into family and village life. This book and its charming characters wraps itself round you like a cosy blanket. It has warmth, charm, laugh out loud moments and a wistful nostalgia. I absolutely loved it.
I received this book via NetGalley and give it my honest opinion
Wwll what can I say! This is a lovely festive read and the characters are loveable, the little village setting is perfect. Full of family festive cheer a perfect Christmas read.
Small Village + Christmas + family= a really cute Christmas story! I really enjoyed this, the only reason I am going with 3 stars is because it dragged a bit for me and took awhile for me to get into.
Fabulous Christmas read. I loved the stories of the villagers running through it and the love from the family to each other whilst being a big family.
This was a slow burn love story of many generations.
Maeve was the stand out character and I loved the village and the seas side at Christmas time.
I wish I could be part of the community and have a big Christmas pub dinner altogether.
Many thanks netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
Such a fun, light-hearted read! This is the first book I’ve read & certainly not my last, written by Michelle Vernal. She definitely has a knack for writing which keeps you wanting to read more and more. The chemistry between all the characters is so fun! I often found myself laughing out loud and smiling throughout this book.
Shannon Kelly’s life has changed in an instant, and right before Christmas. Needing to move, her only choice is to lick her wounds and head back home to her family in Emerald Bay with her cat in tow. Shannon’s family owns a Pub in Emerald Bay with a few rooms to rent.
This time of year is bustling with people from near & afar coming to enjoy the Christmas season. Just when Shannon feels like her love life is over, a traveler from Boston named James throws everything in to a tizzy. It seems James might have a connection to Emerald Bay.
I highly recommend this book. If you love cozy stories, some cute romance and the Christmas season, this book is for you! This will be a series and book 2 will be coming in the near future.
My first by this author and it was a very sweet read.
Shannon Kelly returns home to her family's pub in Emerald Bay after a break up with her boyfriend.
Christmas is coming and her sisters are returning home too.
Shannon meets James after an unfortunate accident but who is this American who visits Maeve the old lady who lives alone?
Emerald Bay sounds wonderful as it's by the sea. Being a small village it means everyone knows everyone's business and I'm not sure I would particularly like that.
The Kelly family are so warm snd welcoming inviting all those that are on their own to join them for Christmas Dinner, very community spirited.
A delightful Christmas read.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC in return for an honest review.
I’m a first-time reader of Michelle Vernal. This was a cute Christmas book set in a small Irish village. The plot focuses on a large Irish family living in a pub, five sisters, and a village full of quirky characters.
Overall, it was a sweet romance with a smidge of mystery, woven around a family and set at Christmas. Really quite delightful.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest opinion.
A sweet romance with a smidge of recent Irish history. Small village Irish life is front and center, making this a great bit of escapism.
A first-time reader of Michelle Vernal.
Christmas in the Little Irish Village is one that I loved getting to know the characters. I felt like part of the family, and now I would love to visit Ireland at Christmas time..
Looking forward to reading the sequel as Christmas in the Little Irish Village is the first book of a series.
If you love romance, a bit of mystery, Christmas and family - this book is for you.
I give this book 4 stars of 5.
Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture, for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
Christmas in the Little Irish Village is available on 14 October 2022.
I wanted to love this book... Unfortunately I found it too descriptive and I couldn't focus on the story. It just wants my style of writing.
Welcome to the little Irish village where Christmas celebrations are in full swing! Twinkling lights, cosy fires and big mugs of hot chocolate are in abundance as Shannon Kelly returns home to the Shamrock Inn. Will this be the year she finds the man of her dreams or is she destined to be forever unlucky in love?
A charming, joyful, festive and surprising story about love, friendship and learning to be true to yourself. It’s an emotional rollercoaster!
Read it!
Christmas in the Little Irish Village is a romance with a splash of mystery.
Ireland at the Christmas season sounds so cozy here. Alas, hot chocolate, decorations, and general merriment aren't enough to pull Shannon from the depth of her heartache after a nasty breakup. Enter the new man, an American. The relationship begins disastrously but evolves into something else.
A fast read - a nice book for a cup of cocoa on a cold day.
I really enjoyed this book and i look forward to the sequal, i do feel there was maybe a tad to many characters and not enough around James and Shannon.
A really charming Christmas story. Nothing like a large Irish family living in a pub and a village full of characters. Throw in 5 sisters and a little romance and you have a real winner.
I thought that this book was going to be a cutesy christmas book, but cringed so much reading it. I did not like Shannon as a character at all
There was a lot of angst in this book. Maeve’s story was very sad and so was James’s mom being sick. The Kelly’s were a delightful bunch. There were some very funny scenes. The town is full of interesting characters. This book was a heartwarming story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
Lovely feel good book to read. It was a joy to read. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book. Idyllic location that set the tone of the book to perfection. Perfect seasonal book to get you in the mood for the festive season.
I enjoy a good craic and the author always delivers. Christmas in the Little Irish Village is a simple, sweet escape read especially on a tough day or even while on holiday.
