Christmas in the Little Irish Village, by Michelle Vernal

Michelle Vernal's brand new book Christmas in the Little Irish Village is a humorously charming and sweet romance. It is a pleasure to read Vernal's wholesome story which is devoid of sexual and violent content. It would make a beautiful Hallmark movie. The plot is set during the holiday season in a quaint Irish village, with delightful characters including an adorable cat named Napoleon.

Synopsis:
Shannon Kelly has returned home to live with her family in Emerald Bay. Following a painful breakup, she is trying to get back on her feet. There she meets the very handsome James Cabot. Although Shannon has sworn off men, she can't help but feel drawn to James until he "claims" to be the long-lost grandson of Shannon's good friend Maeve Doolin. Maeve is a beloved grandma figure to Shannon who is determined to uncover the truth behind James' motives

Christmas in the Little Irish Village is the first book in a series by Michelle Vernal featuring the Kelly family of Emerald Bay. I am excited to read the sequel and find out more about the enchanted Irish village.

Christmas in the Little Irish Village is available on October 14th.

I had a hard time connecting with the characters in this book. I do know a Christmas story but something was just keeping me from loving this one.

I really wanted to like it and I think others will love it but something was just missing for me and I wish I could tell what it was. The writer paints a clear picture of their world and the people in it.

But in the end if you can’t connect with the characters the book just won’t resonate with you.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for this eArc for my honest opinion.

Christmas and an Irish village…love and romance…secrets and possible deceit…family and friends…Shannon has returned home…she meets an American…sparks fly…this cozy romance was written by a talented and gifted author. Curl up in a cozy chair with a warm Afghan…grab a cup of steaming herbal tea…a delicious scone…be transported to Christmas…to Ireland…to romance…don’t miss this enchanting novel that is fiction but reads at times like nonfiction. This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review. Thanks to the publisher for the electronic copy. I will look forward to more books by this author.

I’ve never read a novel by this author but boy I’m glad I did. I love books with an Irish theme and this novel takes place in a lovely little cozy Irish village. Our heroine is thirty something Shannon who is returning home to Shamrock Inn after a disastrous break up. Things don’t seem to be looking up even with her Irish family trying to cheer her up until she accidentally trips on some ice right into the arms of a charming American man. If this doesn’t speak rom com perfection I don’t know what does!

If that doesn’t make you swoon and your worried these two won’t see each other gain “James” lands up taking a room at the inn and hilarity ensues! You have to read it for yourself but definitely a moment that will make you blush.

James is in town due to a supposed family connection of an elderly neighbor Shannon has known since she was a little girl.

Despite some suspicious ions the two sprld time together and grow close until a secret that I won’t give any spoilers you just have to read for yourself threatens to tear them apart.

I so was hoping things would work out between these two and was turning the pages into the night to find out if they would get the happy ending they so deserved!

I was so delighted with the warm fuzzy feeling this book left me with, the delightful characters and well paced storyline as well as the light hearted fun and laughs it brought me as well!

I highly recommend this read and enjoyed the gorgeous eye catching cover as well! It reflected the beautiful warm feeling the novel portrays
