A cosy autumn romance if there ever was one!

Erin Sterling takes us to the witchy town of Graves Glen (giving me full Gilmore Girls vibes), where Gwen and Wells are faced with having competing witchcraft stores. A super fun, enemies to lovers, dual-pov romance which is worth a read (especially if you enjoy a bit of magic thrown in).

I’ll admit this was going to be a three star read for me until about 60% of the way in… because honestly, apart from a little bit of banter, not much had really happened! That last 40% was absolutely jam packed however - we delved deeper into Gwen & Wells’ relationship as well as actually getting into the plot & mystery of the book (which was sadly sidelined for most of the story it felt like).

Overall, despite a rocky start, I found myself not wanting to put this book down, and I’m left with a cosy sense of satisfaction at the ending to this story.

Meh. This book was okay. I really enjoyed the Ex Hex and loved the character of Gwen, so I was looking forward to her having her own spin off book.
This book just lacked the spark for me. I disliked more than I liked.
The flirting was cringe. The sex scenes made my brain cry they were so painful to get through.
Why, just why does Wells sound so painfully boring? He’s from Wales not a Jane Austen novel, he honestly didn’t need to be that articulate and uptight constantly.
The book didn’t really go anywhere, until the last 30% or so then all of a sudden we have two bad guys?
The talking cat was the only character that made me feel any emotion. I’d read a spin off about him.

Gywn Jones had seen her best friend Vivi marry a member of the rival magical Penhallow family but that doesn’t mean she has to have anything to do with them does it? After all one of them has lied to her family for centuries, one of them looks like a yeti and one of them didn’t even bother to attend the wedding.of Vivi and his brother. But then along comes Wells Penhallow aka Mr. Wedding No Show who not only moved into her town but opens up a rival shop opposite hers. Gwyn full intends to make him rue the day he decided to come to Graves Glen …

Ah, it was good to be back in Graves Glen again. As before, Erin Sterling delivers a witty but cosy, charming but spicy, witchy romance. There’s a magical mystery to unravel as well. I’ve become really fond of these characters, including Sir Purrcival with his excellent comic timing, so I really hope there are more of these books to come. There’s definitely unfinished business and I think yeti brother needs his own book. The narrator did an excellent job of showcasing all the characters and her talent really drew me in to the story and engage in the plot. Yes, she didn’t give Wells a Welsh accent, but she did convey the rest of his character really well.

It’s a perfect romance to kick off your spooky season, I am really glad I read it. Thank you to Erin Sterling, Avon publishing and NetGalley fort the opportunity to review an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

What a lovely follow on from The Ex Hex. I actually preferred this. Enemies to lovers, baby witches (they’re actually at college), a bit of drama and the cat still talks - lots to make you smile.

Gwyn is a brilliant main character. She’s a badass witch, a mentor to the ‘baby witches’ who are getting bored with the restrictions at college and want to spread their wings a bit more, owner of witchy shop and a talking cat and is a strong, feisty woman.

I’m hoping that the next book includes more of the ‘baby witches’ and of course, the third Penhallow brother.

Cute and I enjoyed the visit to this magical town again but this felt like the exact same story with different characters. I love the setting and the characters are fun but it's another enemies-to-lovers, which we just went through with Rhys and Vivi (do these cousins not like anyone?). The story picks up towards the end and it gets interesting but it takes forever to get to a point where something actually happens and tehn it feels rushed. Still, the characters and the setting make me want to give this series another chance so I'll continue with it and hope for a more well-rounded story in the next one.

Narration was well done, no issues.

I really enjoyed The Ex Hex so I was highly anticipating the sequel. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed it even more! I was already familiar with the characters so getting a story focusing on Gwyn and Wells was a real treat.

The chemistry between them was electric and I adored the grumpy/sunshine, enemies to lovers plot with all the twists and turns as they navigate family complications and suspicious new comers.

The writing is engaging and I always love stories involving witches. The town of Graves Glen reminds me of Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls which immediately gives me cosy vibes which is just what I want from a witchy book.

I got really invested in the story and Gwyn and Wells relationship and the ending made me quite emotional which I love in a book as I know I have become really connected to the characters.

I did enjoy the narration for most of the book and really liked experiencing it as an audiobook but the ‘Welsh’ accent more often sounded Irish so maybe a Welsh male voice actor would have been a better choice for those passages.

Cute and sexy read with a sprinkle of magic and spice, This was not my usual genre but I loved this so much.
I hadn't read the Ex Hex as I didn't realise they were linked. but I will ASAP.
I love the atmosphere in this was perfectly autumnal.
The audio-book was fantastic.
I hope Erin writes more about these characters because they work so well together.

Who knew a witchy romance was a thing? I certainly did not but now that I do, it’s all I wanna read this time a year.

The Kiss Curse follows Gwyn, Vivi’s friend, a shop owner in a quaint little town and a witch. It’s a story of her and Wells, another Penhallow brother.
It’s what everyone (in my opinion) needs to be reading this autumn. Cozy, funny and hot romance with magic and a little mystery to solve sprinkled throughout

Firstly, it was great being back in Graves Glen, and I loved catching up with Vivi and Rhys and seeing how their story had progressed.
(And Sir Purrcival continuing to be his beautiful sassy self)
I enjoyed seeing Wells soften and see Gwyn draw his personality out through from his serious exterior. Overall a brilliant spooky and spicy addition to the series, and I would definitely welcome more.

With it being the audio book I listened to, I just have to note there the "Welsh" accents were painful to listen to. 😬

Thank you to Netgalley & Headline Audio for this arc in exchange for a review. I did enjoy this book but unfortunately the narrator just wasn’t for me and that detracted from the book sadly. I think that was the worst attempt at a Welsh accent I’ve ever heard, like Scottish, Irish, English and American all amalgamated into one! Overall I liked the story and will definitely read more from the author, just in physical format next time!

I was given this by Netgalley in return for an honest review.

I didn't realise that it was a second book. That being said I really really loved this book.

From Gwyn's store to the College witches students who become know as " baby witches " it's brilliant.

Add in some brilliant sexy times and it's pure magic. Throughly loved it.

Cute and sexy read with a spice of magic. Perfect quick autumn read with great atmosphere. I loved both main characters.
I hope we're getting more books set in this world.
The audiobook was fantastic.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love this author and their style of writing. I was super happy to get an arc after reading the ex hex when it came out.
I would have liked more mention of the bisexual element in these novels.
But overall this was super cute, really quick to go through and a great start to my spooky season reads.
I listened to the audiobook and the narrators voice just suited this story and characters so well.
I would read this authors grocery lists.
5/5 stars for me.

The kiss curse is a fun, witchy romance that is an exceptionally quick read. Like with the ex hex I liked the mystery aspect and the plot twists throughout this book. I absolutely love Gwen and her relationships with her baby witches, and if I ever needed a witchy mentor I’d want her. This book was just the right amount of mystery and romance but also with the added bonus of having a talking cat!
