I loved this book, despite not being a fan of "Dexter"-type stories. In "How to Kill Men and Get Away With It," author Katy Brent lifts the curtain on the world of influencers... and how much they can get away with. I loved how the main character Kitty Collins was written in a way that made her seem relatable even though I couldn't have less in common with her, like she could easily slip into anyone's friend group. There is a bit more gore than in a cozy mystery, but what do you expect from something that promises a serial killer in the title? Loved the book!

I was really excited about the concept of having a female Dexter, however I just couldn't seem to get into this one - I'm really hoping I can revisit it at a later time and appreciate it for what I'm sure is an incredible book.

I couldn't read this as an ebook for some reason so will get it when it comes out! Sorry! (Leaving a 4 star review to be fair.)

This book had it all, murder, mystery, love, hate and a stalker. This book is a must-read for fans of psychological thrillers and dark comedies, offering a unique and refreshing take on the genre. It keeps readers hooked with a blend of suspense and a sly sense of humor until the very last page.

I like this book but I don't think it is the type of story that our library patrons would identify with. It's a little edgy.

I devoured this book, it was so addictive. It had it all, murder, mystery, love, hate and a stalker. What more do you need in a book? I will definitely read more by Katy Brent.

I read this book over a year ago so I can't really recall the details, but I did really enjoy the premise and plot!
I'd like to return to it in the future actually, as it's definitely more aligned with the dark humourous crimey books I've been enjoying recently!
Thanks so much for the opportunity!

I just knew this book would be great. A little bit of humor a little bit of murder. However it fell flat for me. The main character was annoying and not likeable at all.

Short and sweet review!

This book had EVERYTHING it needed for a 5 star book, but it sadly didn't have the correct execution to make it a 5 star for me.

I could not stand the main character and felt that she was childish which made her murdering men... like how is she this smart when the math ain't mathing??

I wish I could have given this 192929 stars because the title and premise is so unique and quite literally amazing! It just wasn't for me!

Great premise, but not pulled off as well as it could have been. An average, easy-read thriller, definitely a good sunbed read if you want to raise a few eyebrows. Nothing too memorable but not terrible.

Kitty Collin’s is a social media influencer however she has a secret. She likes to kill men but not just any man as she has a code. Men who harm woman are likely targets for Kitty. When Kitty possibly kills the wrong man it seems her days are numbered and she is finally going to be caught.

I have to keep this synopsis brief so I don’t give away any spoilers. This story has so many layers and a few different story lines happening. I found the story to start off somewhat slow and I had trouble getting into it. The second half really picked up for me and I had to keep reading. The story is pretty far fetched but I still enjoyed it. The twist at the end was fantastic and unexpected. I think this was a solid debut book for the author and I would recommend to others. Trigger warnings for sexual assault and violence towards women.

I’ve loved this book from beginning to end. I sat down with the intentions of starting this gem and ended up devouring this in just one afternoon sitting. Completely unwilling to put this down because it was so addictive.

I loved Kitty, from the very beginning, I wanted to know more about her. She really is a character that pulls you in. The more I knew, the more I loved her. She is definitely one of my favourite characters of the year.

Brent has really created a gem with this one. This is a book that will make you gasp, laugh out loud and keep you hostage until the very last page. This is a book so well written, I felt as though I was watching this play out.

I wish this was on screen, I’d be watching repeatedly. This is a book which should be on everyone’s TBR.

How To Kill Men and Get Away with it is dark, but hilariously funny. This has been fantastic and completely different to what I had expected.

I really wish I could experience this book as a first read all over again. I have no hesitation in recommending this one. I cannot wait to read more by this author.

Kitty Collins isn't your average serial killer. She is a wealthy influencer who enjoys the finer things in life. Her first kill for example was an accident.

When Kitty accidentally kills a man who stalks her after leaving a nightclub she realises she likes the feeling of wreaking vengeance on men who hurt women.

Revenge tastes sweet when she dishes it up and the men she targets are lowlifes.

But do they all deserve it?

The title of this is an instant eye-draw, and I love how funny and dark this book is. Katy Brent nails the balance between the two throughout the book, creating a book that had me laughing one second, breathless the next.

I kept trying to get through this book, but I eventually decided that it just wasn't going to happen. I liked the premise of this one, but the writing was mind-boggling hard to get past. The main character is vapid, and she knows she is vapid, because she complains about her life, her job, and her friends over and over and over again. While I imagine the author was going for satirical examination of how social media obsessed, we as a society have become it just turned me off the character and made her unsympathetic at best and downright hostile at worst. I felt no empathy towards this woman or her situation, which made it hard to want to keep reading. I thought that the murders might make her less vapid and more interesting, but it turns out that even while murdering people she was way too self-obsessed. Also, the author's weird pushing of veganism was uncomfortable at times with how strongly she was shoving it down our throats. Overall, the story had an unbearable main character that was constantly talking about how much she hated her job as an influencer and her materialistic, self-centered self and group of friends but did NOTHING to change any aspect of her life but starts murdering men she deems the world would be better off without.

One word: BRILLIANT!

I loved this book. Think 'Made in Chelsea' but with a kick-ass serial killing female lead and you've got your plot.

I don't know any woman who hasn't felt the need to walk home with her keys between her fingers, just in case, but this book is a brilliant reverse where women are no longer the victims as our perfect anti-hero seeks to ensure that men who prey on women don't get away with it. I know in the real world this is not the way to seek justice, and at points in the novel I think we see this perfectly, but it's a great premise for a work of fiction. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be recommending it to all my friends! (although I may never eat meat again...)

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A modern and dark story in the style of How to Kill Your Family, Boy Parts, and other titles like this. I found it a little bit "smug" in places, but I think the characters were meant to reflect this. I also wasn't sure about the pacing of the ending, everything seemed to happen all of a sudden, but there again, this could reflect the nature of the characters and the world that they live in. Definitely will be recommending this to my friends though, as it's a really good read.

thank you so much to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was able to make it 30% into this book before giving up. I have been trying to finish it for a literal year and I just decided to release myself from it. While the premise is interesting the amount of internal dialog and redundancy make this book really hard to get through. I am all for a good antihero/ murder book but the MFC was just entirely unlikable.
