Iconic, incredible, showstopping, from concept to execution! I was really looking forward to reading this from the title alone, and oh boy did it deliver. I cannot recommend this enough!
I really enjoyed this book. I read it in one sitting. Don’t expect a crime thriller with police detectives. Kitty’s crimes are not investigated at all really but that’s what’s great - it’s almost an escape into a fantasy of “imagine if you could get away with it”. Although it is humorous it does genuinely touch on a very important issue of women’s safety and how it is often not safe due to many men’s attitude of what is acceptable behaviour, but I enjoyed reading about Kitty’s solution to those problems and the predicaments that she found herself in. I’m happy to recommend this book and rated it 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
Kitty Collins - meat production heiress and social media influencer. She seems to have the perfect life apart from the fact she’s a serial killer.
This book has been on my radar for a while and I’m really glad i picked it up. Kitty Collins seems to have it all from her social media profile however when she is assaulted one night and accidentally kills the assailant it triggers something inside of her. She’s a little like Dexter - but kills people that deserves it and tries to rid the streets of men that are harming women. Although the book has the main character as a killer and I’m not condoning murder in any way at all - the author really has highlighted what it is like for women when in public. Drink spiking, being in fear of walking around at night, car keys between your fingers just to name a few examples. I really feel like the author captured this well.
I also liked the plot and the twist towards the end was really good too. This was my first book by this author but I’d like to read more in the future. A really great read.
This was such a fun, fast paced read. I read it in one sitting. I loved the twist at the end. The story was a bit far fetched at times, but that’s what made it so fun. Will definitely be reading more by this author.
It was the title really that made me ask for this and I'm so glad I did.
I couldn't put it down. I loved it, ok it was a bit far fetched at times, but what an enjoyably different book.
RECOMMENDED - you bet.
Was it the title that made me want to request this? You bet it was. What did I find when I finally read it? The most delightful story I have read in ages! This book was so much freaken fun! Kitty Collins is my all time idol! If there isn't a book 2 then there is no justice in the world!
Once I got into How to kill men and get away with it I couldn't put ot down. I wanted to knowhow it would end and if Kitty got caught. I was surprised that I liked Kitty as the book progressed. At times it was abit far fetched but I still enjoyed it and it worked.
This is a really solid book. The main character is immediately recognisable and you know what you're in for. Their friends are a tad ridiculous but they need to be to foil our FMC.
SYNOPSIS
When wealthy, popular, beautiful, it-girl Kitty kills a man who was trying to assault her on the way home from the bar, it sets her on a path of her own special brand of vigilanteism.
Firstly, I loved the title. It immediately made me want to read this and I've definitely seen a trend in the past few years about getting away with murder in book titles.
I thought the "logic" behind the plot was reasonable, as we have to remember this is fiction - it doesn't have to make 100% sense!
The twists and turns were compelling enough without being too stressful and I liked how everything wrapped up at the end.
Firstly thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for sending me a copy of this book to read and review.
“I want to live in a world where I don’t have to keep my keys between my fingers in case I’m attacked walking home.”
I flew through this. This is something that affects every woman. Because even if you haven’t had any kind of advancement that you didn’t want, you know someone who has. This book really hits on some strong subjects that need to be spoken about. This was brilliant, this made me angry, sad and everything in between. ✨
“Oh, to have the confidence of a very average white male.”

I loved this book, it gave me Killing Eve and Sweet Pea vibes and I really hope that there will be a sequel.
The writing wasn't the best in the world and some of the storylines were completely ridiculous and unrealistic but this is also why I loved it. The main character was extremely likable despite being a serial killer and at times I felt myself routing for her,
Riveting suspense that never lets up and you’ll plough through this one in no time.
Gripping from start to finish and I’ll look out for more like this.
A really dark but witty read. I loved Kitty’s character and the story line was brilliant. Highly recommended by me.
When reading a fiction that is so close to the truth always hits me hard, especially when that truth is the violence faced by women and girls. There is not a single scenario that Kitty overhears either from friends or on the news that is untrue, be it ghosting by men after sex leading to heartbreak, sexual harassment faced by aspiring artists by those dominating in the industry, and even violence and abuse from their own partners. This is a book that needed to be written and I understand and appreciate the emotion behind it, especially when stats tell you that convictions for rape are the lowest, because firstly they're not reported by women in the first instance and secondly because of a "lack of evidence". This is not about the innocent (although Katy Brent really ties up all eventualities in this book especially on this element to her credit) and there will be because no justice system, especially not the British system, is perfect but what happens when it fails the survivors? Enter Kitty Collins.
I loved the dark humour and satire in this book. With it being a theme close to my heart, I would have struggled with the gruesome descriptions of violence and murder generally (did anyone turn vegan after reading this book I'm intrigued to know?). I loved the writing and the concept. It leaves me sad because of the truth behind it but overall I would recommend this - but noting all the trigger warnings first. Looking forward to Brent's next. Thank you @netgalley and @HQStories for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Incredibly addicting book, funny and witty I loved it and could not put it down! Have recommended to friends
This book was totally different from anything I had ever read before however I was absolutely hooked from the very beginning. Twists & turns that I did not expect kept me flipping the pages late into the night & it was totally worth every second of lost sleep
Highly recommend
Kickass heroine protagonist goes around wreaking her revenge on a series of horrible men by killing them...what's not to love?!? Has strong Promising Young Woman vibes so if you liked that you'll love this book. Highly recommend. Thanks to Katy Brent, HQ and Netgalley for the ARC.
Kitty Collins is the feminist serial killer I didn't realise I needed to read about! She was hilarious and endearing as well as deadly. Excellent switch up of the typical serial killer dialogue, women can do anything they want to! #girlpower
I was recalling looking forward to this, but I’m afraid I just didn’t love it. I will be keen read more by Katy Brent as I liked her writing style, but I think I may have read a few too many of this kind of plot just lately - sorry!
4 STARS
A female Dexter! It was gory and graphic at times, but I still enjoyed it.
Thank you to NetGalley for my advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book was EVERYTHING! I was Hooke right away by this title and when I started reading, it did not disappoint. Kitty Collins was a hilarious MC, she was so extra and boujee, your classic modern influencer and she has a knack for... murder. But not the murder of just anyone, society's worst men that pose a threat to the safety of women. Kitty's killing escapades were filled with dark humour, wit and they were completely nonsensical. This made the read so much fun and I couldn't put the book down. Although the tone of this book was very much a humourous, witty take on the patriarchy, we got a few moments of seriousness which I appreciated. I really had no idea how the book would end and when it did, it was a pretty neutral feeling. I wasn't left overly shocked but it also wasn't too predictable. I loved the writing and the pace and overall, this was such an enjoyable read for me. 5 stars!
