How to Kill Men and Get Away With It, well I was definitely drawn in by the title of this book and the intriguing front cover.
Although this isn't particularly my typical genre to read, I really enjoyed this blended work of fiction, horror and humour. There is plenty of laughs amongst the dark and serious plot. I really do not relate to the world of gen Z influencers, rich and luxurious lives. But these Londoners were a great set of characters. The main character being Kitty Collins, I found the nuances in her character hilarious, however it really emphasised that what you see on the outside isn't always the truth. She is pretty badass and taking on these sexual abusers through elaborate traps, it's hard not to idolise her.
Unfortunately, I really just didn't like Charlie and the relationship with Kitty. I feel like the connection wasn't strong enough and she really deserved someone to see her strength and appreciate her.
It is worth noting that there should be a trigger warning for abuse, rape, sexual harrassment, suicide, etc. Personally, I don't handle gore very well and there were some pretty graphic descriptions.
This was a fun read and I would really recommend this quick, quirky book.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the e-ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

3.5 stars rounded up to 4

Coming off the back of reading How To Kill Your Family, this book felt very similar at times - which is a fair comparison, both dealing with beautiful young women who also happen to be serial killers, albeit with different motivations behind their crimes.

Things I really enjoyed about this book:

- that I could relate to the FMC and her motivations at times
- the dark humour
- that it didn't shy away from the gruesome details

Things I wasn't as huge on:

- while I could relate to the motivations behind the FMC's crimes, I couldn't relate to her at all. She was a privileged, skinny, rich white woman whose job title was 'influencer' and who lived in an extremely exclusive area of London. I feel it would have been much more interesting to see someone without all these resources do the same things she did.
- The 'twist' at the end was entirely predicatable

Nonetheless, an easy an enjoyable read which maybe required a little more polishing in terms of plot.

This was a quick read but not necessarily an easy one. At first it seemed quite fluffy with the main character Kitty and her clique being rich influencers living the life. We see them at flamboyant parties, eating at the best restaurants, going to clubs and consuming lots of alcohol and drugs.

At its core though is a story following on from the #metoo movement with Kitty wreaking revenge on men who have done wrong to women. There are incidents of rape, sexual assault, brutal murder and mental health issues all of which are very graphic. The humour is very dark but had me laughing out loud despite the serious content. My only quibble would be how easily Kitty moves deadweight men around on her own, hence the four stars.

Our female avenger is not one with special powers but an ordinary flawed person.. We gradually learn about Kitty’s backstory and what has made her into who she is, even the very ending gives us a final revelation.

I really enjoyed this book and will read more by Katy Brent. Many thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in return for an honest opinion.

Goodness me, where do I ever begin with this read?
I should start by saying that if you are squeamish or not keen on blood this isn't for you. This truly is not one for the faint hearted.
Secondly, this is the complete opposite to a slow burn- is fast burn a thing?! It hits you from the off and never slows down.

Kitty seems to think she is doing good by killing sexual predators and some of these men have done some vile things.

Although the ending was a superb final showdown, once I'd got over the first few pages, I felt like I could trust no-one in this book so the ending didn't stun me as much ass I'd hoped it might. That being said, the reaction, twists and turns that Kitty takes becomes obsessive page turning.

An absolute thumper of a debut, what on earth will this author achieve next?!

Kitty lives in Chelsea in a penthouse apartment left to her by her mother. Her three friends are all wealthy Chelsea girls too.
They all however have their own mental health problems which turn this book into a psychological thriller.
They are also quite a few humorous parts with Kitty's turn of phrase.
Kitty is an influencer on Instagram which earns her a very good living. The four girls lead an envious life but are they happy?

What a fabulous, edge-of-your-seat gripping tale this is.
Kitty is an influencer turned one-woman vigilante who rids the world of evil, misogynistic men. Kitty has it all, riches, a beautiful home, a tight-knit group of friends but one thing she will not put up with is, men who hurt her friends or men who hurt other women.
This novel is dark, the main protagonist is acerbic but witty and is probably an undiagnosed psychopath!

An excellent - keep you up at night page-turner - with a great twist at the end!

Wow. I was so excited to read this and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Kitty is a delight. Never thought that word would describe a serial killer, but she's absolutely delightful. Witty, hilarious, and on occasion she happens to murder men. No big deal. Kudos to Katy Brent for writing such a likeable character you find yourself rooting for her and on edge every time you think she'll be caught. I loved this so much and wish I could experience reading it again. Fantastic.

trigger warnings for abuse, rape and sexual harassment.

I absolutely fell in love with Kitty Collins and her very odd friend group, i’ve never read a book about a serial killer who is also a very popular instagram influencer and reading this book guaranteed that i absolutely love this genre of books. Kitty has many many secrets and she comes from a world where people have loads of money, a steady stream of alcohol and drugs. Kitty adds on to her list of secrets when she accidentally kills a man who won’t take no for an answer, thus starting her urge to rid the world of men who abuse women and honestly more power to her! If you're looking for a dark comedic book that's fast paced and honestly doesn't slow down then this is right up your alley!

Have I ever read a book about a vegan serial killer who solely kills men? No, no i have not. Was this one of the best thrillers i’ve read all year? Yes indeed it was.

Katy Brent wrote this book so so well and reading this book makes me want to read more of her work!

Thank you to HQ and netgalley for providing this title!

I really enjoyed this book! I couldn’t put it down, it was a one sitting book.
I really loved Kitty’s character. Loved the mood.
Also from her girlfriends my favorite is Tor. I don’t know I just “clicked” with her.
Charlie was lovely but I think their relationship was a bit rushed. But he’s a sweetheart!
The creepy guy. I think I knew it but I didn’t. I just got half of it.
But the ending ? Damn I need the next book if there’s going to be a next one.
I do have to say that even tho I enjoyed the humour, stay aware if you are easily offended.

How to kill men and get away with it by Katy Brent is fantastic, and I was enthralled with this fast-paced read from the beginning and kept captivated right to the very end.

The Protagonist Kitty Collins is an Instagram Influencer turned Serial Killer, and we follow her as she embarks on a killing spree of men. But it’s not just any men, it’s the ones that she feels truly deserve it and have done wrong or in particular have done wrong to women.

‘Have you ever walked home at night, keys in hand, ready to throw a punch in self-defence’

This book does highlight some terrifying current social issues but manages to do this combined with copious amounts of dark witty humour that had me laughing out loud.

What a wonderful debut novel from Katy Brent, I will be certainly looking out for more by this author.

Nicely written, and very much of today. However not the book for me, as I’m really not the target audience for it. I did finish it, as I couldn’t think how it could possibly be brought to a good conclusion. For the right demographic, I’m sure they’d find it a really good read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Kitty is a social media influencer who also is a night time vigilante, and kills men who are a threat to women. A female Dexter who wants to avenge for women that have ever been raped, hurt or abused in anyway. This book is a page turner with short addictive chapters that keep you guessing. The book begins and ends with a bang, making it impossible to put down til the end. I gave it 4 stars as I think that for some it may be a bit too gory? (If possible?) also, there’s a heavy amount of social media discussion. Overall a fast paced, surprising read that I couldn’t devour quick enough.

Kitty Collins is a huge influencer, wealthy, massively rich and bored suddenly finds a meaning to life. And that turns out to be to kill men who she regards as low life’s. Men who follow women home late at night and attack and rape them. Kitty has the ability to carved them up without making a enormous mess or anything realistic. I was amused to begin with but I can’t seem be bothered to finish it. I’m sure others will love it and laugh out loud but not me. Nevertheless it is very nicely written.

Very enjoyable and fun! With similarities towards Sweetpea, I knew this was going to be a book I would really like.
Hopefully we will get a sequel eventually, since I would love to see where Kitty takes us next

We have a female Dexter in the house who avenges monsters disguising inside human fur! Ladies and gentlemen: make some noise for Kitty freaking Collins!

She’s the granddaughter of Captain Collins- founder of Collins' Cuts, the reconstructed meat products you see in every freezer and supermarket in the UK. But interestingly she rejects to inherit the bloody family money and staying away from meat products. She still grieves her father who disappeared under false circumstances and she has estranged relationship with her mother who escaped to France, giving her daughter the luxurious London penthouse as farewell gift!

Kitty might be known as popular IT Girl, a very famous influencer, spoiled elite but she has darker side that she doesn’t share with her social circle! When she sees a monster who abuses women, she knows how to end his life and wait for it: she knows HOW TO GET AWAY WITH IT! Who can think a very rich, popular, instagram’s shining star likes to get her hands dirty? Of course nobody suspects her!

Everything started as an accident. A very clingy, irritating guy who has also girlfriend, following her at the street, carrying a broken wine bottle to attack her and when Kitty kicks his crouch, he loses his balance and falls on the broken bottle! Goodbye a. hole!

The next victim also made his bed. She didn’t intend to hurt him. She just wanted him apologize! Oh boy, what the hell is wrong with those guys?

But now she has a stalker on social media who is sending her posts from her crime scenes and following her each steps.

Her friends think she’s depressed because she doesn’t get over the betrayal of her first and last boyfriend and now she meets with charming philanthropist Charlie. Can she trust him? Can she control her killer instincts before they take control of her body?

It’s absolutely entertaining, smart, twisty, riveting psychological thriller! I’m rounding up 4.5 to 5 extra surprising, sarcastic, darkest stars! I absolutely had so much fun!

Gruesome, grotesque and full of dark humour, yet impossible to put down. I have to say I was intrigued by this novel and as soon as I read the prologue I was hooked. I liked the main character and the style of writing and felt the plot flowed well. Thank you to NetGalley, HQ and the author for the chance to review.

Think of the cast of your favourite up market reality show and you have your main female characters but they bring along their dysfunctional family members with them.
The excesses and self indulgence are off set by the gruesome murders.
You won't feel sorry for the victims but read the story to find out why, I am not going to spoil the twists in the tale.
An enjoyable and fun read. Enjoy I did.

Straight away, I was completely hooked when it came to this story.
There's some great dark humour and you find yourself rooting for Kitty and simultaneously not wanting to put this down, as even though you can imagine that the next person on her hit list will be a horrible person who deserves everything that they get, you don't know exactly how everything will play out.
Kitty also felt like a real character and someone that you could see on the likes of Made In Chelsea (and seeing that this inspired Katy Brent made obvious sense). I loved every little description of her luxurious life, from her designer homeware, even down to the exact shade of Charlotte Tilbury lipstick used at the end.
I was a little bit concerned that once we found out who Kitty's stalker was and what started to transpire there, that it was going to ruin what had been such a great book. But thankfully everything is resolved in a very satisfying way. Even if I did think that Charlie surely couldn't have just been a nice guy all along.
One part of the book, Tor's time in Greece was maybe glossed over a bit, given how traumatic this must have been. But seeing Kitty get revenge, there and right throughout the book, meant that I couldn't put this down.
I really did devour this book in two sittings.
If you enjoyed How To Kill Your Family, I've got a feeling that you will really enjoy this.
And I will definitely be looking out for what Katy Brent does next.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
