This book was so entertaining!! I love a female serial killer and this main character was the female dexter I always needed
this book was brilliant. as a fan of stories about woman's rage and dark fiction i absolutely loved it
it's a story turning the narrative around, where violence is used by women against men to fight the violence men inheritedly targeted foward women. it was amazing to see the social comment and showcase the hell women's live in this man's world
incredible from the writing to the story to the humour. you won't see the world the same way after it. but it's a good excuse to become misandrist, in my humble opinion
and you do are a fan of killing eve, yep you should read it for sure!! #villannelle4ever

Have you ever judged a book by it’s title? I won’t lie I saw this title on netgalley and requested it straight away. I only read the blurb after requesting. It just sounded like a funny read and I’m glad I did. Thanks to Netgalley for gifting me a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have always been into thrillers and Crime shows and this book is basically the female, less serious, more comedic equivalent of Dexter.
After Kitty Collins accidentally kills a man stalking her after leaving a nightclub she realises she likes the feeling of wreaking vengeance on men for all the females out there. Revenge tastes sweet when she dishes it up and the men she targets are lowlife. But do they all deserve it?
This was a twisted, dark humoured but nonetheless enjoyable ride. The first person narrative made it an intimate novel between serial killer and reader, where you get to read about all Kitty’s juicy, darkest secrets.
The novel starts you right in the middle of the action, or rather mid kill and so you are thrown straight in which I love as it keeps you on your toes from the beginning.
This was an easy going, fun read which is just right for these cold, winter nights.
So, if you want a fun, female serial killer read and want to freak out the men in your life by reading this in front of them I highly recommend this book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – fun, twisted, dark and a hilarious read.
Sometimes the cover and a catchy title never disappoints you. And here is the proof. Right when I saw the title I felt that this would be a good one and it turned out to be just the same.
Meet Kitty. She is an Instagram influencer who doesn’t like being an influencer but enjoys the lavish lifestyle that comes as a side hustle from it. I think that’s when I fell for her character. Kitty is not a likeable character. She has many depths to her personality and is sarcastic and times sadistic too. But she also does something. She kills men who hurts women. Well now you know why I loved this one.
I haven’t read a lot of books that had such a dark sarcastic tone and I am here for more of it. None of the characters caught my mind but I think that’s what the author went for to begin with.
This might be a hit and miss for some but I truly enjoyed the read.
3.75ish stars?
This book was bizarrely fascinating, twisty, twistED, and fun. It was also a bit graphic and disturbing, sometimes cheesy or unbelievable, and sometimes funny. The protagonist is a die-hard vegan because she can’t stand the violence of killing animals; on the other hand, she habitually murders men who she deems to be predators or abusers (and, to be fair, most of her victims are those things). The characters were sometimes inconsistent, and the plot seemed to contain some flaws (ex. the protagonist repeatedly leaves online traces of her actions but, somehow, that never has any consequences? etc.). I also didn’t totally buy all of the ups and downs of her romantic relationship. Even so, the whole book was strangely interesting.
Additionally, the protagonist makes some comments about trans people (in the context of how she kills men and only men), and maybe it’s just that I haven’t been sleeping enough lately, but I can’t quite figure out the nuance of exactly what she means:
“First up, no women. None. And don’t even bother coming at me with trans arguments or whatever. This is Chelsea. Tor still gets eyeballed because she’s black. Women are not predators. Not in the same way as men.”
I’m not sure if those lines were meant to be inclusive, dismissive, or something else, but they were near the beginning of the book and did stick with me even after I’d finished it.
All in all, this book left me with some conflicted feelings, but it was definitely memorable.
A darkly funny story tapping into those feelings every woman has experienced during her life – anxiety, anger, fear and fury. Kitty is someone we can all relate to (well, perhaps not the influencer lifestyle, with money, alcohol and drugs all round) but her disdain at the arrogance of men, her rage at sexual predators and her disillusionment with the dating game, well, we’ve all been there. We haven’t all taken a knife to the issue, however, but maybe we have wanted to, on occasion?
Clever, funny and darkly observational, this is a must-read for those who love things a little different,
The title of this book drew me in, unfortunately the story read really slow.
Everything felt over explained, social media, veganism, the lifestyle and just not a huge reveal in the end
Quirky, clever and very enjoyable! An excellent read that I thoroughly recommend! This one kept me reading through the night. 5 stars
Thanks @Netgalley for my copy.
I really really wanted to get into this book. Revenge, female empowerment and petty business are all things I embrace, so after reading the synopsis I thought YESSS!! But Alas, no. Kitty is a famous Instagrammer, rich, spoiled and yes, entitled. She's also bored out of her mind, but when she accidentally killed someone, she found a new hobby I guess? I couldn't connect with this character, her inner dialogue was a bit childish and bitchy, even when she's with her "friends". Every time a character was introduced we get their full social media credentials like a posh outdated millennial calling card created "FOR YOUR PAGE".
I did not enjoy this one, really wanted to though
A quirky dark tale full of colourful characters. Love that Kitty told the reader details of her clothing and furniture., amongst the other gory details of the murders.
Had an idea who her stalker was, but the ending was delicious.
The writing was so good that I had to take a shower after a particularly gross murder sequence, feeling that I had been part of it.
Thanks to HQ and NetGalley for ARC.
Well, I wanted to read this book from the title alone!
Meat heiress and vegan, Kitty Collins is living the life of a Chelsea based influencer, single, with a coterie of great gal pals. She has a hobby that she hasn't told her pals about and that never features on her Insta feed. She finds men that prey on women, and makes sure they stop. Then things start to unravel - she meets a good man and she makes several mistakes.
This is darkly comic, sometimes very graphic (should have content warnings for sex, sexual violence and violence) and reads like the love child of Dexter and Made in Chelsea. I found the jaunty rom-com tone jarring at times, and I didn't warm to Kitty or her friends, who all have problems, none of which would be made worse by getting paid employment, but it was a well-plotted tale that will have many many fans. I'll be interested to see what Katy Brent does next.
Really enjoyed this book. Kitty was a great main character and really gave me Dexter vibes and this book for me had a better ending than Dexter so that’s an added bonus. Would recommend! We love a female vigilante.
How to Kill Men and Get Away With It by Katy Brent was so much freaking fun! A wonderfully delicious new novel about men needing to get the fuck away from us :)
I really, really wanted to like this. It just didn't land for me, I loved the concept, but felt it failed in execution. The MC felt like a prime example of a rich, white girl with absolutely nothing at stake. A little more tension between her and police might have helped raise the stakes some. I also would have liked to see more tension between her and the romantic interest surrounding her extracurricular activities. It was a very fast paced book and I got through it quickly, but in the end was left wanting a lot more.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an e-galley in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This was a fun read, completely outlandish and the main character isn't very likeable however I did enjoy reading it and would recommend.
Thank you for the arc.
Wow, I really liked this one. A female vigilante meets Dexter who is also an influencer. I admit I am one to judge a book by it's cover and books with covers like this are usually romance or corny to me in a way but I gave this one a shot and it blew me away. The names alone and dialogue kind of threw me in the beginning but I am so glad I stuck with it. It's funny, dark and twisted, and although the protagonist is kind of psychotic, you can't help but love her with her no bullcrap attitude. I honestly want a sequel and hope I'm not alone on that front. Definitely give this one a go, you will not be disappointed. Five Vicious Stars.
Thank you to Netgalley and HQ for this ARC.
Unfortunately this wasn't a book for me, I found it to be quite crude especially the graphically detailed encounters Kitty had. Quite cringy along with the explicit language used throughout
I found the plot to be far fetched and unbelievable.
I absolutely adored this book! It’s my first from the author but definitely will not be my last! I was rooting along with the main character the entire time, even as she committed atrocious crimes. #teamkitty
5 stars.

I would like to thank @but_katy_did_it @netgalley and @hqstories for this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Blurb:
Meet Kitty Collins.
FRIEND. LOVER. KILLER.
He was following me. That guy from the nightclub who wouldn’t leave me alone.
I hadn’t intended to kill him of course. But I wasn’t displeased when I did and, despite the mess I made, I appeared to get away with it.
That’s where my addiction started…
I’ve got a taste for revenge and quite frankly, I’m killing it.
The cover is what drew me to this when I saw it on @netgalley and this book did not disappoint. I found it kept me hooked from the start, always wanting to see what was next for the main character Kitty. I would highly recommend this book if you are looking for something a little different. This kept me laughing throughout and I will be keeping an eye out for this author in the future.

The benefit of your friend reading a book before you, is you can talk to them about it for each new discovery. The down side is that you want to ask so many questions, because you can't read quick enough to get the answers you want.
I am so glad I listened to the recommendation that i needed to start reading this book immediately.
Even after such a big talk up, this book lived up to the hype; it's really amazing.
Some things I guessed, some things I hoped for and some things really took me by surprise.
There is so much i want to say, so many plot points I'd like to comment on, but i think it would be better to read this book yourself, to find out what they are / for the whole experience.
The only negative thing I have to say is that I think this book should have come with a trigger warning, as I wasn't expecting quite so much sexual violence.
