Fun young chapbook, presenting the story of Rapunzel – although with her almost as a secondary character and certainly not the focus of it all. Normally I like greater twists to these fairy stories, but this was fine, taking us away from the core plot, and giving us a lesson in handling scissors – especially when long braids of hair are around… There's less moralising than in the sister volume concerning Cinderella, but also more scope for playing with the plot and having fun – which is what these books certainly deliver. A healthy four stars.

Thank you so much to DK Publishing and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
Verity is given a big task by fairy queen Tatiana, to keep Rapunzel company in her tower. It becomes much harder than she thought it would be as Rapunzel wants to explore the world and it makes her sad. With the wicked witch keeping her there and scaring Verity, her prince coming but never being able to free her it’s all up to Verity.
This was so sweet and I loved this new twist on Rapunzel’s story with her making friends with Verity. Verity struggled a lot within this story and had to overcome so much, she made mistakes and had to find ways to fix them and quickly. I liked the way they were written and resolved in a really simple way, and letting Verity figure it all out.
I really liked the way the wicked witch was in this, she was so different to how she is depicted in most other stories and it was really funny, she was mean and grouchy but also sad and lonely and just wanted friends and company. It was really interesting take on her character.
This book is filled with beautiful illustrations, it is really funny, fun and has great friendship throughout. It’s a perfect early reader for a child learning independent reading as it is simply written, big writing and a sweet and fun story too.

This is a lovely refreshed book about Rapunzel. Verity the fairy has been put on duty to keep Rapunzel company in her tower. It’s a cute book with great illustrations and any little child would love this book. I liked that it gave the meaning to some of the bigger words to create independent reading.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy for an honest review.

I received a free copy of, Verity Fairy: Rapunzel, by Caroline Wakeman, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This is such a cute remake of the classic fairy tale Rapunzel. Rapunzel is getting a lot more love then she did when I was a kid. An enjoyable read, for kids of all ages.
