The fact this is illustrated through the use of posed plush toys kind of gives away the fact this is for a very young audience, but it's certainly done well. The colour-popping presentation shows a chirpy chick that just wants to crack out the instruments, sing its heart out and have a right old musical time, but there is a time for peace and quiet – can all the other critters manage it? So there's a bit of a story about the chick and its friends, and the moral of knowing when to button it and when you can be lively and loud, and it's all in rhyme and not at all an unpleasant experience. Easily four stars.

My daughter and I really loved this little children's board book for babies and toddlers, which has gorgeous and cute pictures of Roxie, who is a musical chick, and her animal friends, such as dog, cat, sheep, pony and rabbit.
There is also a beautiful rhyming story, which your little one will adore.
I really liked the message of this book, which is that it is ok to be musical and noisy, but that there is a time and a place for it, and that you must respect the feelings of others, as sometimes it is not acceptable to be loud when others want to have some quiet time.
My daughter loved the cute cuddly animals and the little snail who was on every page of the book. Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.
