A clear and informative book for when you know you should do a yoga session…but it feels like too much today!

Not only does the book present a number of short exercises but it also explains the back and how it works. It explains how to better your posture and exercise so that your back is aligned and working to its fullest potential - not just a list of exercises!

The exercises are easy to follow with helpful photos to make sure you are in position. The book is also beautiful as expected from DK!

Today’s book isn’t one I got for the kids, it’s to help myself. I have Ankylosing spondylitis and it causes extreme back pain for me. I struggle a lot, but activity and stretching can help. This book offers a variety of stretching options, depending on what your goals are, for your back. I have been focusing on the relief of my pain, and these routines are doing me so much good. They only take 15 minutes and not only help ou back, but also get your mind settled and ready to start the day, or a relaxing set to ease pain and clear your mind for the night. They are all easy to do and explained very wel, plus they have photos to help you grasp the concepts. It’s a brilliant book, if you have back issues or just want to keep your back healthy.

As a long term back pain sufferer this book is a Godsend! I know if I regularly do my Pilates I have fewer problems, but I am not always good at consistency! This book gives easy, short sequences to improve and strengthen your back. The Soothing back sequence is especially useful if I am having a bad day and helps get things moving again. The exercises are carefully explained with detailed photographs, and there is also an online video available to make things even clearer.. There is then a ‘summary’ page that you can look at once you are familiar with the exercises and just follow that at a glance.. There were two things I especially liked about this book. Firstly, ‘zones’ are marked out on the photographs showing you where you should be able to feel the exercises working. This is a great way of checking you are doing it right. Secondly, after each fifteen minute sequence there is a list of FAQs. These are exactly the sort of questions you would want to ask, such as ‘I can’t get a certain part of my body to touch, where it should, does that matter?’. Details are also given of how to progress from the exercises given. As always with DK the photographs are excellent - very clear and informative. If you ever get back pain, or don’t want to get back pain I recommend that you buy this book!

Thus is a great book that explains the back and how it works. It explains how to better your posture and exercise so that your back is aligned and working to its fullest potential.

This is a book I can see myself using for many years to come so that I can remain mobile and healthy. The exercises are easy to follow and not to hard to do. The photos really help so that you can get your positioning correct.

I recommend this book for anyone and everyone as it will help you in years to come if you do look after your back.
