From Slave to Separate but Equal is an interesting work written by someone who is not from the United States and doesn't have preconceived notions about slavery. He knows that the class system based on slavery inevitably led to the Civil War and in his opinion, there was no other way to free slaves without war.
His work tends to answer questions such as
Why did Abraham Lincoln's election trigger Confederate Secession and Civil War?
Why was George Washington breeding Blacks and separating families for Sale to other States.
Why was Thomas Jefferson's daughter with Sally Hemings sold as a Slave?
and many others.
Paul Kalra's research is thorough, and his wording really helps the reader understand a not so easily discussed topic.
This is a great book about this topic, and about learning more about the Civil War, slavery and politics during this era.
Highly Recommended!!
