Kathryn Freeman's latest novel offers a fresh and entertaining twist on the classic romcom formula. When flatmates Sally, a hopeless romantic, and Harry, a cynic, accidentally go viral while attempting to recreate the iconic lift from Dirty Dancing, their lives take a hilarious turn. The plot revolves around their decision to capitalize on their newfound social media fame by recreating famous romcom scenes, leading to a series of charming and often laugh-out-loud moments.

The pace of the novel is brisk, keeping readers engaged as Sally and Harry navigate their way through iconic movie moments, from diner scenes to airport chases. The constant references to beloved romcoms add a layer of nostalgia and fun, making it a delightful read for fans of the genre. As their staged scenes begin to blur the lines between acting and real feelings, the romantic tension builds naturally, resulting in a satisfying and heartwarming love story.

The chemistry between Sally and Harry is palpable, and their journey from reluctant partners to genuine lovers is both sweet and believable. Freeman expertly balances humor and romance, creating a story that is as touching as it is entertaining. While the novel follows familiar romcom tropes, its clever premise and engaging execution make it a standout, offering a perfect pick-me-up for anyone in need of a good laugh and a happy ending.

Any book with a nod to Dirty Dancing, and I gotta have it. Add main character names of Harry and Sally? I can't control myself. It's like all the good things come together for the perfect book.

Sally loves all things romance. Her flat mate, Harry, doesn't see the appeal. In a dare of sorts, Sally convinces Harry to reenact the lift for Dirty Dancing What starts as a random post on social media, quickly spirals and goes viral. Harry and Sally continue acting out iconic scenes from romance movies. But acting mixes with reality and the kissing moves off screen.

This was such a great romcom, perfect for those enamored with romance movies. The attraction between the two were electrifying. Their banter fun, swoony and sexy. What I loved most of all is that was a realistic depiction of love.

This is my second book by Kathryn Freeman, and I am a forever fan and need to read ALL of her books.

This was a cute little read.
It's giving dirty dancing with a nostalgic movie scene vibe.
Adorably perky and gives you the appropriate fuzzies, and was not too over the top.
It did lack a bit of dept though with the characters so maybe 3 stars for me.

This was the perfect book to help with a heavy reading slump. It’s light, easy to read and is on the whole just a fun time. It felt a tad slow at points but the writing style was fun and I found it hard to put down! Definitely recommend for the romcom lovers in the crowd!

This is an absolute swoon fest! I loved every single minute of the will-they-won’t-they accompanied by the classic movie moments that punctuate our lives. Definitely a contender for the hottest shower scene in a novel ever.

A quick and easy read for rom-com lovers that was fun, but not earth shattering. I found the characters a bit underdeveloped, but it didn’t keep me from still enjoying it for what it was.

This a cute, light read for all romcom fans. It definitely incorporated a perfect mix of the tropes we love and recalled many a classic romcom references. I'd say I wish the characters had more development Their backstory could have been explored more in-depth to add a deeper connection. The romance was a bit forced, and cheesy, and plot was a bit weak - it hinged a lot of making TikTok videos. I can't say that it doesn't work for what it is. The book and writing though is overall much more British than I am used to, as an American, so something that threw me off slightly. Some funny banter and charm.

I found this book to be an easy read. It was funny, simple, and really cute. I enjoyed it a lot, a solid Rom-Com. I wish I would have known that it was part of a series, but it read fine as a stand-alone book. Maybe NetGalley could add that to their descriptions in the future.

This was cute, funny, and simple. I enjoyed but it wasn't groundbreaking. I found out after it is actually part of a series- while it seemed fine as stand-alone, I wish netgalley would add that information when requesting!

Fun, feel-good and absolutely fabulous, Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner is the hilarious new novel from award-winning author Kathryn Freeman.

Sally and Harry are polar opposites. While Sally is a classic romantic who wears her heart on her sleeve, Harry is jaded and cynical. Sally thinks that there’s someone out there for everyone – and Harry thinks that she has watched far too many romantic comedies. As the two of them are like chalk and cheese, romance is the very last thing on both of their minds – until the new flatmates have one drink too many and decide to recreate the famous lift from Dirty Dancing. It was only meant to be a laugh, however, when their video goes viral and the two of them become social media sensations, they begin to wonder whether they should satisfy their vast social media following by recreating some of the most famous moments from classic romantic comedies. With their profiles soaring and their bank balances bulging, Sally and Harry think that they are going to be laughing all the way to the bank – until they realise that pretending to be a couple is not as much fun as being in love for real…

Like all the best romantic comedies, the path to happy ever after is fraught with challenges, obstacles and doubts. But will Sally and Harry find the courage to put their hearts on the line and admit how they really feel about one another? Is a future for the two of them possible? Or will they end up missing out on a love that could last a lifetime because they are too scared to take a leap of faith and a chance on happy ever after?

Kathryn Freeman’s romantic comedies never fail to hit the spot and she has once again hit it out of the park with her latest charmer. Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner. Side-splittingly funny, intensely emotional and highly entertaining, Sally and Harry’s love story is one that cannot fail to satisfy romantics everywhere.

Readers can always rely on Kathryn Freeman to deliver a stellar page-tunrner and she has done it again with her latest novel, Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner.

Big fan of Kathryn Freeman and this book did not disappoint! Really like how she took what could be a cliched roommates friends to lovers story and gave it a really good twist. Certainly was not expecting the progression in Sally and Harry’s relationship but I was rooting for it from the beginning. Thanks for the opportunity to read NetGalley!

Rom coms I love them they make you feel so good and this was no exception!!! When harry and sally are watching a movie and decided to post a dance on tic toc they go viral and keep it up because the money is good. However along the way their feelings start to get all mixed up.

Blurb:
Sally is a classic romantic and Harry is a classic cynic, but when a drunken bet leads the new flatmates to (badly) recreate ‘the lift’ from Dirty Dancing, and the video goes viral (#EpicRomcomReenactmentFailure), they both realise there’s potential financial benefit in blundering their way through the romcom lexicon for their suddenly vast social media following.

Now, as Harry and Sally bring major romcom moments to new life – including recreating that classic diner scene – their faking it turns to making…out and suddenly they’re living a real life romcom of their own! But like all the greatest love stories, the road to happily ever after is paved with unexpected challenges for this hero and heroine…

My thoughts:
I love that Sally is such a hopeless romantic! She believes in all things romance! After seeing how much her parents loved each other it made her want a relationship like that. But here Harry walks in and is the complete opposite who doesn't really believe in romance having no positive role models in his life. The contrast between characters instantly had me hooked! Great read!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review!

Cute. I liked the characters except the female best friend was really stupid and didn't make much sense. I liked that the main characters had a little meat to their story as it could have easily devolved into a really predictable and boring story. Although there was some tension and we knew everything would work out in the end, it wasn't completely cookie-cutter and I enjoyed that. I really liked the cover of this one which is what made me pick it up and I wasn't disappointed. This was a solid read in the rom-com genre!

I'd like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions.

As someone who loves a great romantic comedy movie, the title and the cover immedietly drew me to take a chance on the book.
It has all things that make it a great read: forced proximity situation, two opposite person falling for each other ( the grumpy-sunshine trope is an all time favourite of mine!).
The main characters' names are even Harry and Sally! She is a total romantic, he's a sceptic, they eventually fall in love. Of course, as this one was a romance novel.
I found the heroine a bit irritating at times, she was soooo set in her ways, I found her stubbornnes in certain situations offputting.
Otherwise, it was a quick and light read!
