My favourite Kathryn Freeman book so far! When I heard the synopsis I initially thought it could be abit cheesy (which it is but in a brilliant way) and wasn’t sure how it would work. For someone so against Romcoms Harry seemed pretty eager to get himself involved and it was just a matter of time before he realised why. Loved the references to the famous movie scenes, and knew there would be a heartbreak moment somewhere but it all worked seamlessly. Easy read, fun story!

Thank you Netgalley and Harper Collins for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange of an honest review.

I really can’t believe I was hesitant about reading this, it was almost perfect. It’s well written, it has grumpy x sunshine, housemates tropes. I enjoyed it very much. The only problem? It really love is a problem of mine because every time actual social media are mentioned I just cringe, it has nothing to do with the rest. 4,5⭐️

🔎 REVIEW - Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner by @ Kathryn Freeman
🌟 4/5
🌶 1.75/5
📇 If you’re looking for a novel that includes bits and pieces from all your favorite movie rom-coms, then look no further.

The best things:
🔹every single hidden (and also not hidden) reference to the famous rom-coms across the decades. This was just fun.
🔹a big HEA; roommates to lovers trope; that shower scene 🔥🔥
🔹the fact that this big burly man helps this basically stranger enact rom-com scenes for fun.

The worst things:
🔹the fact that it had to be tik tok related lol. however, this is a personal pet peeve.
🔹just seemed that the MMC took a tad too long to realize things. He almost didn’t feel mature enough to realize what love is and that was bothersome.
🔹his ex. Like females should support females girl. Get lost.

End notes:
🔹There were a few lulls within this book, however it made me smile enough that it was easy to want to finish. Would definitely recommend to those looking for a quick, happy read.
🔹Thanks to NetGalley (@netgalley) for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Oh... My... Gosh...

Let me repeat..

OH MY GOSH!!

What a damn good story 👏

This is my first book from this author and it definitely will not be my last!

What this book has that makes it so good:
💗 Nostalgic Romcom movie quotes and scenes that we all love
💗 A love story that is mature and grows so naturally
💗 Sweet but also sassy best friends looking out for each other
And my favorite thing about this book...
💗 British
💗 THEY HAVE ACTUAL ADULT CONVERSATIONS!

What I mean by that is there's no miscommunication. There's no stubbornness. I bow to the author who wrote these characters that were able to have tough conversations about feelings and expectations in a way that felt natural.

I could see myself in Sallys shoes, wanting to find love and having this expectation only to find out that it doesn't go the way you expect. She was such an easy character to love. Sweet and honest and also hard working and tough. *chefs kiss*

And Harry. Swoon. He's not a bad boy or a hopeless romantic. He's a man who never experienced love, even from his own parents. His journey to figure out what love is and what it feels like, was a pleasure to read and felt so authentic. Heres a quote that I think displays that:

"How could a guy who prided himself on honesty, say words he didn't understand"

He truly didn't understand what love could feel like and man! What a pleasure it was to see this "not to macho of a man for pink" learn all about love. 🥰

Gosh, I just am so in love with these characters and this story. Katheryn blew me away with her words and story telling. Can't wait to dig into all her other books! Also, huge shout out to net and harpercollins for an ARC!

| RATING |
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - If I could give it more I would!
🥰 There is some sexiness to this story but I wouldn't say steamy (minus shower scene😉) but really romantic. It's the kind of stuff we all wish we could feel ❤️

I thought I would love this one but it seemed a little lackluster for me. The plot sounded cute as well as title and cover. 'Im not a huge fan of couples filming for social media gain/ money online and it fell flat for me before reaching 40 percent and didn't finish for now.

I can still see how others would be all over this idea but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Thank you for allowing me the chance to read and review.

Need the perfect book to get you into the spirit of Valentines? Love Rom Coms? Ever fancied a handsome leading man like Ryan Gosling? Look no further!

As the name implies, this book focuses on all things romantic comedies and I’m here for it! When Harry meets Sally (quite literally) they couldn’t be more opposites if they tried. Sally is an always optimist and Harry is….much less so. But Harry needs a place to live and Sally has an open room to rent out, so they make things work.

When a drunken movie night turns into the new flat mates trying to recreate that iconic lift scene from “Dirty Dancing”, their video of the mishaps goes viral. Suddenly they find themselves as internet sensations and recreating famous scenes from the best romcom movies. Will real life play out like the movies for these two or are they destined to become a flop?

I loved all the romcom references in this book and loved the chemistry between the main characters even more. It’s a perfect light and sweet book to enjoy when you need a bit of cheer. There is the perfect amount of whit, humor and of course romance! This is my second book by Kathryn Freeman I’ve read, and I can’t wait to read more!

When I saw Nobody Puts Romcoms in the Corner, I knew I had to try and get my hands on it. A burly man who doesn't believe in love and a #RomCom expert filming TikToks of romcom scenes gone wrong? It sounded like the perfect romcom to me.

I loved Harry and Sally. And I loved Harry even more as we find out just why he doesn't believe in love. Plus he's a good sport to go along with Sally's idea of filming TikTok's in the beginning and shows he has a good heart with how he deals with his parents and his ex. And as for Sally, I really did like her character, but a great point was made in this book - romcoms can make you expect to see love shown in on specific way and that just isn't how it works.

While reading this, my main critique was going to be about Kitty, but she redeemed herself in the end. She was getting on my nerves. Yes, she was trying to protect Sally, but in a way that was just hurtful.

Overall, this is a solid #RomComRead (rated 3.5 stars) and will be out at the end of February. So make sure to add it to your #TBR so you can keep those Valentine's Day fuzzies going throughout all of February.

As a fellow rom-com enthusiast this book was right up my alley! I absolutely loved all of the references to some of my favorite movie scenes.

Sally, a romcom obsessed hopeless romantic, finds herself with a new roommate, Harry, a non-believer when it comes to love. As their friendship evolves Sally convinced Harry to help her reenact iconic romcom scenes on TikTok that quickly go viral. The comments on their videos speculate on their relationship status & reflect the will-they-or-won’t-they reality in Harry and Sally’s relationship.

I really enjoyed both Harry and Sally as main characters and the cast of secondary characters made the story even more dynamic.

I’d recommend Nobody Puts Romcoms In The Corner if you like any of the following; romantic comedies, opposites attract, grumpy/sunshine & forced proximity.

Many thanks to Harper Collins UK, One More Chapter & NetGalley for the eARC!

This was such a fun read! I may not be as well versed in romcoms as Sally, but I know enough to appreciate and enjoy all the various references throughout the story.

Sally rents her room out to Harry, the friend of a friend. He's not her usual type, and she's not his, but they find themselves attracted to each other as the days go on. Being a romantic cynic, he is amused by her adoration of romcoms. Sally challenges him, after a few margaritas, to re-enact the famous lift from Dirty Dancing. She records it, then posts it to TikTok. It becomes viral overnight, and Sally comes up with the idea to do more scenes with him, recording and posting them with the clever idea of lining up sponsors in order to earn some extra money. He agrees, and as they go through the movies, they begin to feel things for one another... Is it all just acting for the viral content, or could it be real?

I laughed a lot while reading this story, and enjoyed watching the characters get to know each other. It was light and sweet, a quick read, and quite enjoyable. Definitely worth a read!

I absolutely LOVED this book. It was so fun to see Sally and Harry’s relationship play out as they recreated famous scenes from Rom Coms. Both characters dealt with issues outside of their control, and yet they really were there for each other.

If you love a good rom com, then this is the book for you. I highly recommend it.

𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬: Harry and Sally become roommates when Harry breaks up with his girlfriend who he lives with when she cheats on him. He ends up renting a room from Sally who is also looking for some extra cash too. One night they have too much to drink and they recreate the lift from Dirty Dancing. They post it on TikTok and it ends up going viral. Sally soon realizes they can make money recreating popular romantic comedy scenes.

Although Harry isn’t a fan of these types of movies and doesn’t really believe in love or “happily ever after”, he goes along with it.

However, they both become surprised at how fast these RomCom scenes actually bring them together.. and how Harry might have been wrong about love all along.

𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 ✍️: I wanted to love this more than I did. Don’t get me wrong it’s cute, light and fun. I found it easy to read and I enjoyed the characters (except Sally’s sister). But I just couldn’t get into it. Nothing was making me want to pick it up constantly to finish it to see what happens if that makes sense? I could see what was coming next before it happened.

But, I did love all the romantic comedies references, scenes they re-enacted and I liked how Harry changed his perspective and realized what he wanted towards the end of the book.

All in all it was cute, likeable, and easy to read especially with Valentine’s Day coming up. It just wasn’t for me.

ARC review

OBSESSED! OBSESSED! OBSESSED!
I love these two characters and their chemistry and development. This read has the perfect mentions and tie ins of romcoms. I finished this in one day because I felt pulled in by the first few pages. Truly a perfect blend of all things romcom

I was expecting to like this book based on the title alone, I wasn’t expecting to love this book like I did. I mean come on, the main character’s name are Harry and Sally. It full of nostalgic rom-com movie quotes and them acting out scenes for Tik-Tok…. Book teasers of those Tik-Tok would be amazing! You have Sally, struggling with having to the big sis and mom to a younger sister. Their parents died when they were young but the parents love (and mom’s love of rom-coms) kept Sally going and her belief that one day she would have a love like theirs. Then we have Harry, his parents don’t even like each other and he doesn’t believe in love, because he’s never seen or felt loved. I was prepared for the feel goods, I was not prepared for the tears that moved me and made me devour this book in 3 days wanting more.
Thank you NetGalley, One More Chapter, HaprerCollins and Kathryn Freeman!

Loved this book so much.

Sally owns a cafe and has taken care of her younger sister since the death of their parents when Sally was 16. A hopeless romantic who loves rom-com movies, Sally has built a life for herself after tragedy, yet still yearns for love -- the type of love her parents had.

Harry owns a construction company and needs a room to to rent after he catches his ex cheating on him and she now refuses to move out of the house he owns. This is how Harry meets Sally.

Looking for extra income, Sally rents a room to Harry and later figures out there is money to be made on
Tik Tok recreating scenes from rom-com movies. Sparks fly and it becomes obvious Harry and Sally are attracted to each other despite Harry thinking he is incapable of loving someone after watching his parent's dysfunctional marriage and his own relationships fizzle out. But Sally looks to rom-coms for hope that she and Harry can get their own happy rom-com ending.

Harry and Sally are so likeable and completely adorable together. I was rooting for them the entire book. The book mixes tragedy and heartbreak with love and romance and maybe , just maybe, a happy rom-com ending.

Thanks Net Galley for the preview copy. Loved this book. Will read it again and other books by this author .Also reviewed on Goodeads.com
