This book had everything that should make a good read - a group of girlfriends, a couple of murders and a comedic approach. However, in this instance it wasn’t the book for me and I found myself rushing to the end.

When a book covers sooooo many things, it’s hard to know where to begin!

Cara is a mum of 2, fast approaching 40 and living her best mum life.she is excited for a hen do to Ibiza when her best friend Jac gets engaged, but disappointed that the hen do won’t be for another 2 years. But two years is a VERY long time and lots can happen……

Fast forward to “Mums On Tour” to Ibiza and think about handsome strangers, estranged family and lots more side plots. Add in the fact that so much of this book is a joke or a pun that it’ll make your head spin by the end.

I enjoyed this book and would recommend to any mums needing some escapism.

I admit, I had somewhat misguidedly high hopes about this book.
All the Mums on Tour stuff during the book got a wearing and tired quickly.
The author heavily relies on plays on words and gimmicky turns of phrases. I think she should stick to non fiction in future because I just did not vibe with this book despite perseverance. As someone else had pointed it out, it’s easy not to care for the story or characters despite its strong start.

Didn’t care about any of the characters. ‘Joke cannon’ approach but the jokes weren’t that funny - DNF.

I really love this kind of book, looking into the life of a real woman juggling everything in her life with a comedy veneer. Unfortunately though, this particular story was painful slow and the laughs didn't quite hit the mark. I finished it, but the longer the book went on the more I was just skimming the pages.
