I knew the name but had no idea of Helen's real story, it sounds unimaginably hard! Its amazing what she has accomplished. The book gives a great outline in a very simple way for children to understand. Then a bit more information at the end for adults or stronger readers.

I admit I knew nothing about Maria Keller before reading this book.
What a wonderful and hugely inspiring woman she was.

Loved this one from one of our favorite book collections, and my daughter did too. Appreciated the inclusion of Helen fighting for racial and gender equality—I had no idea! Will def add this one to our “little people, big dreams” collection at the bookstore and will likely add it to our collection at home as well. :)

As a special educator, I love that Little People, Big Dreams are making biographies accessible to younger and struggling readers. This book provides a great easy to read format to learn about Helen Keller. The pictures help the students understand the difficulties that Helen Keller faced in learning and promote the inspiration she has provided to so many people.

This glimpse in to Helen Keller's life is the perfect introduction for young children.

With engaging artwork and loaded with information this book drew in both my children (7yrs and 4yrs) and I was peppered with questions throughout.
The imagery captures the paragraphs nicely and my four year old was particularly taken by the animals on every page.
The story is informative but not too heavy, perfect for little ones just learning about the intricacies of our world.
This was a great introduction to persons who are deafblind and how the communication options developed.

The artwork stood out for me. I adored the colour palette, the drawings were very calming and sweet.
My children love the timelines at the end of each book in the series. The glimpse into the real persons life makes the book all the more interesting to them.

I was gifted a digital copy of Helen Keller by Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Learning about important historical figures is important at any age!

Little People, Big Dreams is such a wonderful way for young reader to learn about important people in that have shaped our world. This edition features Helen Keller. This kid's lit book shares the challenges and adversity that Helen faced as a deafblind person and how she learned to overcome her differences going on to write over 13 books and hundreds of speeches. She became a voice for those that didn’t have one and a leader and role model for all of us.

The illustrations share the wonderful story of Helen Keelers life while also sharing the hope of overcoming adversity in our own lives.

Grateful to have received a digital copy of this book from NetGalley & Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books, Frances Lincoln Children's Books

Cute but informative book about the life of Helen Keller. It used straightforward language without being pandering or overly simplistic. I loved the illustrations and the photographs at the end. Great book to introduce kids to Helen Keller!

I adore this book. There are so many amazing things to be said about it. Not only is it inspiring; the pictures in it are inclusive and send a really positive message. I love Helen's story, and the messages it conveys. We all have obstacles in life, but with the right support, willpower and determination, we can overcome them and use that adversity to inspire others! I will definitely be sharing this story with the children in my school.

Helen Keller is someone as an adult I also look up for inspiration. Her disabilities couldn't stop her from achieving her goals. We can't imagine our lives without eyes or ears and she travelled the world inspiring others to fight inner fears and Failures to become someone world will admire till the very end.

This book has given me a much greater understanding of what a trailblazer Helen Keller was. From such a young age Helen was navigating the world without both her hearing and her sight. In this book, we hear how she adapted to life and went on to achieve recognition and make her mark in the world. Truly inspirational, beautifully told and illustrated in this latest book in the series.

We enjoy this book! It introduces us to the many important people in Helen’s life. Previously we have read Helen’s Big World and knew about Annie Sullivan. It is interesting to know that Alexander Graham Bell knew Helen too (and we found out later in our research he had played a significant role in her life too!) This book mentioned Helen learnt to speak, but previously we read in Helen’s Big World that she never learnt successfully. So we look up videos - it turns out she could really speak but rather unclearly so she needed an interpreter and it remained a regret in her life. This book is simple but what I appreciate is that the brief mentions of some details have led us down rabbit trails. Another great title in this series.

First of all, thank you so much to Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, Frances Lincoln Children's Books, and Netgalley to provide this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I have to be honest that I didn't like the drawing style as much in this book as in other books I've seen in the series. But this is a personal preference.
I very much like the personality of this book and she's such an inspiring person. And the representation of people with disabilities being able to achieve the things they set their minds to is a narrative we need to enforce more - because it's true.

I've always enjoyed learning about Helen Keller and this was no exception. The Little People Big Dreams does a great job of taking historical figures and sharing their life story in an illustrated and easy to read book for kids.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced readers copy of this book.

What more can possibly be said about Helen Keller? Reading her autobiography when a very young girl changed my life. Reading this short biography, I rediscovered all the wonderful and great things about Helen.
Anyone who reads this will also discover that nothing can limit the possibilities for our lives as long as we have the courage to pursue them.
Great book for parents as well as kids to read and keep right on their bookshelf!
I received a copy for free from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I was familiar with the name of Helen Keller but inky knew a little of her story. This lovely book tells how Helen, born as a normal child, contracted an illness that left her deaf and blind before she had learned to talk. The story goes on to explain just what Helen achieved in her life and how she manned to accomplish a lot and overcome some of her difficulties.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read and review.

A lovely little book about Helen Keller, portraying her life as she grew from a deafblind child unable to communicate with others to a world-renowned activist and author. Helen's journey will inspire children and make then realise that physical impairments can be overcome with hard work and supportive teachers. The gentle illustrations go hand-in-hand with the text and make this book a pleasant read. The timeline with photographs and expanded biography at the back is a good resource for older children and their parents.
