I really liked the idea of this book - I am always interested in anything that might appeal to some of the children who are more interested in gaming than reading, especially if this is a proper story and not just a guide to a game or something written around game characters. I also like the message of trying again if you don't succeed first time. We spend so much time at school encouraging children to just have a go and not worry about making mistakes and this book really promotes that message.

This is a story for kids, but I enjoyed it as an adult as well. It has references to games, movies and books that a parent reading the book to a child might enjoy too!
The story is reminiscent of Super Mario and other platform-style games, both with the pixel characters and how the various "levels" designs the main character has to cross.

My review as an adult is: when the no fun robot army invades the village reminded me of when the wooden soldiers march on Fabletown in Fables haha
And the Super Rabbit eating a carrot definitely reminded me of Jujutsu Kaisen and the cursed finger,,
The blue super fast hedgehog.. is a bit on the nose if I can say so.
Love Mount Doo-ahem Mount Boom!

I have always thought that replaying a failed level in a video game is a great life lesson. If at first you don't succeed, learn from your mistakes and try new strategies: that is also exactly what Super Rabbit Boy does throughout the book!

Brilliant first chapter book adventure that will be adored by any child who loves gaming... or stories!

The story is told from the perspective of a video game character with lots of visual reference to the child controlling him. A clever, colourful corker!
