The story is full of heart, with a wonderful mix of nostalgia, personal growth, and the joy of finding new beginnings. I adored the setting of the quirky vintage shop, which added such a cosy, welcoming atmosphere to the entire novel. The characters are incredibly well-drawn, and watching them form connections and rediscover themselves made for such a satisfying journey.
What stood out most was the book's emphasis on second chances, both in life and in love, and the way Page beautifully captured the importance of community and finding your place in the world. While a bit predictable in parts, the heartfelt moments and warm, feel-good vibe more than made up for it. If you’re looking for a story that’s equal parts cosy and inspiring, The Vintage Shop of Second Chances is the perfect pick!

This story is so incredibly heart warming and follows three very different women on their own individual journeys of self discovery after significant events within their lives, but working together to achieve this. They make unlikely friends and learn more about themselves than they realised.
I was so invested in the story I found myself awake late at night to find out what happened next. Each character's story was worthy of investment and kept the story moving as well as providing unforeseen twists along the way.

Lovely story based around the power of community and family.
Light-hearted and easy to read.

On the backdrop of the lovely, picturesque county of Somerset, England, Lou is setting out to create something positive after a sad situation, her mother died.
The book sets out to show that something good can come out of hard times. It does it rather endearingly, when Lou, in her 30's, follows her passion for everything vintage and opens up a shop.
Hard times can fall onto someone at any age and in any place, as Donna and Maggie show. They both travel many miles and end up in Frome, Somerset and meet Lou in her vintage shop, which evokes many memories. There's emotion and humour all round.
Little do they know that this chance encounter and a dress will be life-changing, giving them all something new to discover and focus on.
Fashion, friendship, turning a big page to a new chapter in life all feature in what is a lovely, uplifting, positive read.

Just turned the last page on #TheVintageShop. Feel-good and uplifting, with a moving secret at its heart. A wonderful story of female friendship, starting over, the power of community, family and 'home'. Loved it!

Classic quality that we’ve come to expect from Libby Page! Wholesome, heartwarming, captivating reading. An easy recommend !

Thank you Netgalley and Orion Publishing.
I loved this book - hooked from the first page and didn't want to put down. Lots of emotions and a thoroughly enjoyable read
More please !

I loved this book, though it did take me a few chapters to get in to. It's the kind of book that you can read in one sitting, and it left me thinking about the characters long after I'd finished the book. It focusses on family and friendship and spans decades. It has plenty of heart and I found myself getting emotional in some moments. The ending is tied up well and on a positive note.

Was hooked from the first page to the last
A book you will not want to put down
Lots of emotions in this book
But a thoroughly enjoyable read
Thanks NetGalley

This novel is so moving and beautiful and I adored it! It follows three women: Lou who is opening a vintage clothes shop in Frome. Her mum died and she's realised it's time to follow her dreams. Donna who lives in New York and has just received shocking news about her past and is trying to figure out what this means for her. And Maggy who is in her 70s and newly divorced and she finds herself drawn to the new vintage shop in town. This novel is just gorgeous, I loved finding out about all three of these women but I particularly identified with Lou who is grieving her mum. I was willing everyone on to find their path in life and to be happy. This is such a heartwarming novel and is one that is really staying with me. I recommend it!

Another feel good, uplifting read from this author. I have read all of Libby's books and I love each and every one of them.

Loved this novel! Libby Page definitely writes feel good fiction and I’m here for it. The descriptions of Frome and village life weee just beautiful, makes me want to visit. Loved how the characters all tied in together, I feel each of the three has a satisfying story arc. Maybe would have liked a bit more of the romance part of the story but then it was great it was centred around the women and their own personal journeys. I’ll be looking out for Libby’s next book.

This is a beautiful crafted story that I read in one sitting, I may have been curled up on the settee in real life but my imagination brought to life Lou, Donna and Maggy.
Lou has always wanted to open a Vintage Clothes Shop and when she loses her mother she decides it is now or never.
Donna lives a settled life in New York, but she received some news that changes everything.
Maggie is in her 70s, just divorced and for the first time living alone.
How and why these three women meet and the secrets they hold kept me turning the pages.

What a wonderful book! I literally couldn't put this book down and I just found absolutely every excuse to pick it up to read just another chapter. I adored the main characters and found each of their stories precious and important. This is not normally the genre I would read in but I would read anything and everything Libby Page writes. She is a beautiful writer with so much optimism and hope.

I really enjoyed reading 'The Vintage Shop of Second Chances', by Libby Page although it is a predictable read. Much like her other books, 'The Lido' and 'The Island Home', community is almost a character in itself. There is a strong sense of comradery in Page's books and, I can't help but feel very alone compared to the women in her books. Told from three viewpoints, 'The Vintage Shop of Second Chances' is a transatlantic tale of family, grief and survival. A light read that highlights grief, loss of family members, finding oneself and adoption.

Libby Page writes complex characters and delightful settings about second chances and this was no exception. I really enjoyed seeing the town and its local shops and shop keepers rally around especially when put along side Libby’s own move and her Instagram stories.
I personally struggled with the adoption side of the story but I accept that it is my interpretation and that most people would be ok with it, which is why I’ve taken so long to review it and I didn’t know how to phrase it and why it’s not as rated as highly as her previous books by me.

What a lovely story The Vintage Shop of Second Chances is. It’s a simple narrative of family and friendship. The relationships that develop in the course of the story only add to the feel good factor. The characters are mostly women and their lives become interlaced as the past is revealed. There are secrets and regrets but it’s an uplifting story that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

I thoroughly love Libby Page - I came to her writing at a difficult time in my life and her writing always buoys me up like a little lifejacket. I was so excited to see that The Vintage Shop of Second Chances was being released and was delighted to receive a proof copy as well as being approved for this netgalley copy - my apologies for the slow review on netgalley! This story really shows off how well Libby manages to weave several stories together in a gentle but expertly structured way so that by the end you also feel as a reader than you are part of the story too and could quite easily sit and have a coffee and a chat with the characters. I loved the hopefulness portrayed and the underlying message of never giving up or giving in but to look for the helpers and your own resource and strength. This is one of my favourite Libby Page books and I can't wait to read more from her in the future.

4.5 stars
This book is a heartwarming story of new beginnings and friendship between 3 women, who find themselves connect by a yellow dress.
Lou returns to live in the town where she grew up to look after her mother, after her mother dies, she decides to stay and fulfill her dream of opening a shop selling vintage clothes. Maggy is feeling lost and lonely after her recent divorce and is looking for a lodger, unknowingly that she will find more than that in Lou, who needs a place to stay whilst she is getting work done on her flat.
And Dotty arrives to town all the way from the States looking for her mother, having finding out she has been adopted.
The last part of the book was hard to read and it got me in tears, but I really loved it.

Really enjoyed my first book by this amazing author, the characters are both realistic and heart warming, and you find yourself absorbed by the story as it unfolds. Thank you for the chance to discover this magical read,
