Lovely cosy read. Enjoyed the characters and imagining just how cool Lou looked in all her vintage clothes.
Well written and just one of those books you want to get cosy and warm with and follow the story.

Another lovely book from Libby Page, this is a story of new friendships and old secrets.
Lou has returned to Somerset to care for her dying mother. Although she is still grieving she follows her heart and opens a vintage clothes shop.
Maggy is still feeling lost after her long marriage ends but when she offers Lou a room in her big house a friendship blossoms.
Donna lives in a small town in America and when family secrets come to light she too is lost, questioning everything she thought she knew about herself.
A beautiful yellow dress is at the centre of this story and as we slowly learn more of the dress' history we also hear about two sisters separated by thousands of miles who never forgot each other.

This is the fourth book of Libby Page's that i've read; the first two I loved, the third I was indifferent to, but this one sadly I was just not a fan of. I liked the premise of the book and honestly hoped that i'd love it but there was just something missing for me.

I felt like I couldn't connect to any of the characters or the relationships they formed because they seemed to happen so quickly and we didn't really get a fully fledged development, as I did find with her first two books. There were also certain parts of the dialogue that I found really awkward and at times, stilted. Sadly, this is not a book for me.

I adored this book. As someone who grew up in a town near Frome (the setting for this story) I absolutely loved imagining the vintage shop and almost felt like I could go and visit! The story was heartwarming and emotional and now I want to read more of Libby Page’s work.

What a beautiful story. I loved everything about this book I got invested in the characters so much it was a pleasure to read .When Lou opens her shop selling vintage clothes little does she know the secrets from the past that will come to light as she finally finds the courage to go through the belongings of her late mother. Her friendship with Maggie is so lovely and the story is full of warmth and charm and I must confess I shed a few tears. The friendships from both family and friends make this book very special and the story surrounding the yellow dress is very moving. Highly recommend this book a 5🌟review from me

I read this book in two sittings becuase I had to know what happens to the characters! An enthralling read that I will definitely be recommending to others when it is released. Heartbreak, humour and excellent story telling, what more could you want from a book?

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an early copy in return for an honest review.

The Vintage Shop of Second Chances is a nice easy read that I got through in a day. It's a sweet, funny and engaging story about 3 women thrown together over a vintage yellow dress that connects them all. The dress has a history and throughout the book you hear about it's importance and how it ties Louise, Donna and Maggy.

I loved the female leads, although Donna irked me a little! Slightly predictable in places, hence the mark down, but enjoyable all the same.

Thanks Netgalley for the ARC.

Lou is starting anew. After the death of her mom she takes a jump into the unknown and opens her own vintage clothes shop in Frome.

Donna lives in upstate New York and has just found out some news about her family which has questioned her whole upbringing. The only clue she has to unlock her past is a picture of a woman in a yellow dress which is currently on display in a shop in England.

For Maggy, she is facing life as a 70-something divorcee and while she got the house, she's not sure what to fill it with now her family have moved out. The new vintage shop in town sparks memories of her past and reignites a passion she's been missing...

Together, can these three women find the answers they are searching for and unlock a second chance at a new life?

Having loved previous books by this author I was thrilled to be able to read this advanced copy. It didn’t disappoint. I loved the background stories of the 3 women, trying to guess how they all connected, as their lives come together in one story. I loved the characters and such a beautiful ending. Absolute sunshine in a book.

At first, the story seemed lovely.

However, the farther it got, the suspension of disbelief became harder, especially in terms of the relationship between Lou and Donna. If the story would be set couple of decades back, what happened there would be way more believable.

Otherwise, "The Vintage Shop of Second Chances" may be described as an uplifting story about why is it never too late to make significant changes in one's life.

This is a lovely story. Set in the Uk and The states. Maggy is very sad after the death of her mother and you follow her opening a vintage clothes , finding lost family and gaining a dear friend and falling in love. That makes the book sound simple it is not. Libby Page draws you in. There are some very tearful moments . Absolutely can’t recommend it enough .

What a truly delightful read this was. Absorbing, sentimental and engaging. I fell in love with Lou and Maggy straight away. It brought such joy and was incredibly well thought out. I thought nothing would beat my love for The Lido, but this may just edge it. I felt like I was in the shop trying the clothes on with the ladies.

An absolute no brainer must read.

In Frome Somerset, Lou opens a vintage shop which is something she’s long hoped for, using an inheritance from her beloved mother to fulfil her dream. She’s living in a Premier Inn while she waits for the flat above the shop to be renovated. Also in Frome is Maggie, now divorced after 50 years of marriage, she’s rocked to the core but consoles herself with the thought that at least she got the house! The house is large, she needs a lodger…… Enter Lou! Meanwhile, in upstate New York Donna receives some totally unexpected news which knocks her sideways and all she has is a photograph of a young woman in a yellow dress and it’s that same dress that connects them all.

I really like the premise of this one especially the vintage shop element which gives opportunities for trips down memory lane with the likes of Mary Quant and Biba! The characters are all so easy to like and very relatable. Who couldn’t love Lou in all her colourful glory and also Maggie who resets her life. Donna seems spiky but a good heart beats underneath that armour!

There’s much to delight in this really easy escapist read such as the growing and much valued friendships that arise. The message is heartwarming too as it’s a lovely story of second chances and about finding new horizons when you least expect to. The novel takes you on a journey through the emotions. At times it makes you smile and gladdens your heart, others it’s heartbreaking so be sure to have a box of tissues at the ready!

I daresay it follows a predictable path but I find I don’t mind in the least as it’s a very diverting read which we all need at times probably particularly so now.

With thanks to NetGalley and especially to Orion Publishing Group for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

I love Libby Page's books, so I was very happy to get a chance to read her latest, and it was as warm and engaging a read as expected.

Lou, who recently lost her beloved mother after nursing her through her illness, is fulfilling her dream of owning a vintage clothing store; Donna, at the age of sixty, has just found out she's adopted; and seventy one year old Maggy is discovering life after divorce. The paths of the three women are set to cross and some unexpected discoveries are in store... (Along with some not so unexpected - as soon as that purple silk scarf made an appearance, I suspect we all knew how things were going to work out with Simon!)

One minor niggle: I'm not sure Lou's surname should have been Morris, as mentioned a couple of times - she says her mother was Dorothy Jackson and she never knew her maiden name.

A lovely read which I can highly recommend.

A charming story about three ladies, Lou setting up a vintage dress shop to mask her grief, Donna has a life changing secret revealed to her and Maggie who has been hiding from life since her divorce. It switches time lines a bit which can be confusing but I enjoyed the story, great likable characters in a lovely setting. Thank you netgalley for the advanced copy

This was a gorgeous read about three women dealing with changes in their lives - Lou is starting a new business as well as grieving her mum, Maggy has just got divorced after fifty years of marriage and Donna is reeling from a revelation from her parents. The one item Lou won’t sell in her new vintage clothing shop is the yellow dress that was so precious to her mum although she never understood why, the vibrant dress drew Maggy into Lou’s shop and that tentative acquaintance helped when Lou applied to be Maggy’s lodger. The only clue Donna has to moving forward from her parents news is a photo of a woman in the yellow dress but how can that help her solve the mystery?

All three women were brilliant, very different and at different stages in their lives but each had something to offer the other. Donna was really well written with her need for routine and stability but with a softer side too, Maggy was just going through the motions, her days as dull as her clothing but I loved her Lou added warmth to her life. Lou looked to be in a good place but a setback showed how she had buried her grief in business. The setting of Frome sounded lovely and the focus of small businesses very relevant with some great staff supporting each other. I loved how the story of the dress unfolded and how these wonderful characters grew together in this warm and uplifting book. 9/10
