Sorry that is review is a little delayed, I wanted to take in every moment of it so I read it whenever I was having anxiety as it was in those times that I found it most helpful. This was such a helpful book for somebody like me who struggles with anxiety, and dealing with it from a Christian perspective.

A book about everyday experiences of living with fear, anxiety, and the pursuit of a meaningful life.
The author has pulled on her own experiences and offers some practical ideas on how to overcome these.
The book uses the bible to offer additional support which can be reassuring.
Her writing is simple and not lecturing but rather in the tone of another gal, sharing openly and warmly.
At the end of the book you realise how much of the fears are coming from unrequired pressure we are putting on ourselves and that it is easier to let go and live a more balanced life.
I really appreciate the addition of the bullet points at the end of each chapter - its been great to revisit it as sometimes we all need a pick me up.

What a fresh book! I love that the Author combines her Christian faith along with her own challenges with Anxiety. She is brutally honest and candid and her vulnerability will mean many anxiety sufferers will easily relate.

It’s got practical tips on how to manage your anxiety. It’s a huge issue in our society today. I red somewhere that 1 in 3 Americans have anxiety disorders. I know it’s prevalent in teenagers and very small children to a shocking degree.

It was an easy read and there is no complex psychological babble to confuse you. The fact it’s written by someone who has lived with the disease instead of a Psychologist who has never experienced it makes it great. The writing is good and I particularly like how you are drawn back to leaning into God in dark times. Even if you are not a Christian you’d get something from this book. A super read.

Christy Boulware's book, Nervous Breakthrough, is a much needed resource in today's society, due to the rising levels of fear and anxiety prevalent in the world. We are not alone. This book is a great reminder of this truth, that God is beside us walking the journey called life, and guides us through all fear and anxiety that we encounter. Having a special needs son with high medical needs, I have lived much of my life trapped in "fears" and the "what ifs" that each day may bring, or just the day-to-day life worries that crop up for each of us. Christy really helps to relate to and recognize those triggers that start the spiral into an anxiety/panic attack and depression. She gives us actionable ways to combat the triggers and ultimately, to seek Jesus in our times we struggle.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that has struggled personally and/or knows someone that has struggled with anxiety and/or depression. The application points, as well as a list of 25 "ready" statements to summarize what we learned throughout this book, are a great resource to have in combatting anxiety and fear. Thank you NetGalley and Leafwood publishers for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

This wasn't my favourite self help book. I did see a few useful pointers across the way but I just wasn't the right reader to appreciate it.
A lot of references to god, which is important, but isn't for everyone's beliefs.

An interesting perspective on anxiety and panic disorders. It is from a personal perspective and experience which maked it more relateable. The author encourages seeking help from both a medical and faith perspective.

This book was such a great read and knowing you are not alone when it comes to anxiety and depression. I have struggled myself, whether it be from postpartum or just the day-to-day life aside from babies. Even though, for the most part, I have overcome those feelings, Christy really helps to relate to and recognize those triggers that start the spiral into an anxiety/panic attack and depression. Christy gives us actionable ways to combat the triggers and ultimately, to seek Jesus in our times we struggle.
I highly recommend this book to anyone that has struggled personally and/or knows someone that has struggled with anxiety and/or depression. Christy's insight and personal experience is a great one to have in your toolbelt for when those triggers hit!

“Nervous Breakthrough” is not your typical self help book. Christy uses the power of faith and the love of God to help you as a reader! When I think of this book I think of how relatable and reassuring it is to know I AM NOT ALONE. Reading Christy’s story of when she was diagnosed with anxiety was very similar to mine. Ever since i have been diagnosed with anxiety I thought I was alone. Hearing Christy’s story makes me feel heard and understood. Throughout the book, Christy provides numerous ways to manage anxiety. She provides a guided discussion to help heal anxiety and grow deeper in faith.
This book is different then other books because FAITH is included. In other books I have read, God is not prioritized in the healing process. That is what is special about this book! God is the center of this book!
I highly recommend this book to anyone. Anyone can benefit from this book. Throughout the book you can see the detail, empathy, and faith Christy has given. I strongly encourage anyone to read this to help heal from anxiety and strengthen in their faith.

This book was so real and vulnerable. I could relate to so much of what Christy was going through in her story. The study guide included in the book is amazing! It includes a quick overview of the main points of each chapter as well as scriptures and reflection questions. It is a book to go to when you are having a panic attack to help me refocus on who is in control. I highly recommend this book if you are suffering from panic and anxiety!

Nervous Breakthrough is a must read. Christy portrays such raw emotion throughout this book. Her willingness to help people is a gift from God. My favorite thing I learned in this book was being able to do “Thought Dumps” and writing in a journal. Also being able to apply coping mechanisms through scripture, biblical truth and faith were some other takeaways. Being able to write about her journey shows strength and diligence. I took note of various scriptures referenced in this book. I think they are very useful tools for the suffering of fear and trying to overcome yourself. I would highly recommend this book

Nervous Breakthrough by Christy Boulware.is a must read for anyone dealing with anxiety and fear. Having a full-blown nervous breakdown and dealing with anxiety and fear led Christy to a journey with God that has resulted in an amazing ministry. Her vulnerability as she shares her journey is at times heart-wrenching. In her book, Christy not only shares her challenges, but she also talks about practical ways to deal with anxiety and fear, such as replacing the negative thoughts with positive thoughts, surrounding yourself with the right company, and developing a close relationship with God. Through her struggles, God led her to establish Fearless Unite, a ministry which has touched the lives of thousands of women (and many men) to help give them constructive tools to draw closer to God. If you or anyone you know deals with fear and anxiety, I highly recommend this book

One of the most important aspects I’ve experienced in reading the book is the realness and rawness that is being shared. It’s heartfelt and it’s real life!

Nervous Breakthrough by Christy Boulware challenged me to face my anxiety and fear by facing it head on. Christy's knack for telling her story is amazing. Her story is a lot like many of our stories yet she writes about it in a way that makes you want more. I felt like I was right there with Christy in her trial. Unlike many books I have read this book left me not wanting to put it down but but wanting to know just how she overcame fear from a biblical standpoint. I was not embarrassed about my fear and anxiety but rather challenged to take steps to address the issues at the "smoke alarm" stage. Did it trigger some things I maybe have been avoiding? Most definitely but not in a way to make me feel ashamed or less than but rather to approach confronting the issues with the grace of God and a challenge of my faith to do more for myself. Fear and anxiety leave us feeling lonely and scared, in Nervous Breakthrough, Christy walks with you in that time and shows you honestly what helped her. I think this is the first book of this nature that I have read all the way thru. What a blessing Christy and Fearless Unite are in the lives of anyone and everyone who is brave enough to not just acknowledge a problem in themselves but to confront it thru God so that you can find the strength thru Christ to keep going and to live in the joy of the Lord that he has purposed for us. I didn't leave these pages full of anxiety but rather empowered to face anxiety with the tools to help me overcome and control the anxiety that thought it was controlling me. For me, I cannot wait to share this book with my friends and family as it truly has changed my life in a positive way. Definitely a 5 star book.

This book is different from other books on fear and anxiety because it is written by someone who is not a doctor or therapist, it is written by who has experienced and struggled with fear and anxiety, and it incorporates Christian faith in fighting fear and anxiety. Readers like Christy will be able to resonate with her experiences and remove the stigma of being a Christian and struggling with mental health issues.

Are you struggling with anxiety and depression? So many of us are or know someone who is. Christy shares her story honestly and vulnerably of how she has overcome severe anxiety and panic disorder by pointing you to the One who set her free. Using Scripture throughout, she directs you to the Truth and gives practical steps and tools for taking those anxious thoughts captive and replacing them with life giving thoughts from the Prince of Peace Himself, Jesus Christ.

What a privilege to have the opportunity to read this new book, Nervous Breakthrough, by Christy Boulware. This is as authentic of an account of her personal struggle with anxiety and her personal breakthrough as you could possibly ask for. But it’s not just about her, in fact, this is the thing I love the most about Christy, nothing she does is really about her but about Christ and his ways, his methods and his triumphs. From beginning to end this book is about how God will get us through our struggles if we allow him to. I believe that this book will inspire, lift up and set women on a path to freedom from anxiety thru christ. She does not sugar coat her struggle or the struggle of others but in fact is very candid, which I think readers will value. I can’t thank Christy enough for authoring this book and I am excited to bless my family and friends with a copy as soon as it is released.

This book is incredible and will change your life regardless if you struggle with anxiety and depression or know someone struggling with it! Christy shares very transparently her story and walk with Jesus and teaches others the importance of loving Jesus while fighting anxiety and depression and how to love others who are fighting with anxiety and depression. I love that she wrote this book to help both angles of peoples struggling and supporting. Read the book! It will transform your life!

"Nervous Breakthrough" was a great read! Christy is a great storyteller, really brings you in to her story and made me want to keep reading chapter after chapter. I don't deal with anxiety like Christy did, but I do have some tendencies of anxiousness & fear and this really helped me understand what is happening and gave lots of strategies on how to stop those fear bullets. I thought the order of her chapters really built on one another and she did a great job of weaving her story in. The first few chapters gave lots of good information on anxiety & panic, medication, and how the church, medical and mental health fields should work together. Then she turned towards what "anxiety smoke alarms" look like, how God's love casts out fear, how to stop the anxiety snowball, and identifying the cause of anxiety.
I loved that throughout the entire book, Christy emphasized Jesus as the One to bring the healing and help, we cannot do it on our own. Though medication and doctors play an important role, we must go to God and put on that Armor of God, But she ended the book with some important topics. One quote that hit me was "fear is rising because faith is dying" and it is so true! We need to get back to total surrender to God- praying, going to church, reading our Bibles and pursuing healing from the Lord. I loved how the end of the book is so practical. There is a great study guide for all chapters with bullet points that review the chapter, Scriptures and reflection questions. There is also a list of 25 "ready" statements to summarize what we learned throughout this book. Thanks Christy for writing this great book full of real life stories, laughter, heartache and truth from the Bible. I cannot wait to pass this on to my friends!

Christy had me 20 pages into the book when she wrote, “My superwoman cape strangled me.” That’s all I needed to realize this book was for me. This encouraging and motivating read gets right to the heart issues of fear and anxiety.

Christy acknowledges the inner pain and outer manifestations of having fears and anxieties, but she gently offers the reader tools, direction, and encouragement to overcome them. Her suggestions on overcoming anxiety are not full of psychobabble. They are practical and realistic ways readers will use to make sustainable change in their lives. I felt like Christy was at my kitchen table the way she shared her raw, honest, and authentic experiences about her anxiety. Christy’s vulnerability as she shared some honest stories about her life with anxiety and panic attacks came through loud and clear. Some of the stories she told, well, let’s just say she’s braver than I would be about sharing them with the world! I love that she wrote, “The problem is not recognizing your anxieties; it’s hiding them.” Society shames us into thinking we can’t talk about anxiety because it’s embarrassing or makes us look weak.

Christy says this book isn’t another self-help book and she’s right. It’s a story of her anxiety journey and how she grew her faith in Jesus. She refreshingly wove her anxiety stories and solutions into scripture without being preachy. Christy offers tools and guidance on how to overcome anxiety that are reasonable, and readers will be able to follow. This book is great as an individual read but is also a church small group leader’s dream. The study guide at the end provides main points, scripture references and reflection questions for every chapter. Read this book and then buy another copy and give it to a young woman venturing into adulthood. I wish I could have read this book when I was in my 20s because it would have given me a perspective on my fears and anxieties that could have made me a healthier person.
