I thought this book would be better after reading the first, but it turns out this one was even worse. Not going to continue this.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Els and Jared. Els has just graduated from college and took a year to tour in Europe. Jared is in a band that is touring. There is an instant attraction. They get stuck for a few days in a house during a snowstorm. Finally get out and break up. They have some issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

This is book 4 in the True Platinum series- however I read it as a standalone. It was easy enough to follow as a standalone, however I'm wondering if I missed something in the first 3 books to explain Jared a bit more. I plan on reading the rest of the series to see if it sheds more light! I enjoyed the author's writing style and this was a quick and easy read.
Before I start my actual review I'd just like to say THERE IS A PLAYLIST ASSOCAITED WITH EACH CHAPTER and man on man do I love that. I do wish they were put right below the title headers of "chapter x" so I didn't have to keep flipping back though.
I'm all for push and pull, red flag fictional men, but having a dual POV in this book would've made me like Jared sooner. I felt like I had whiplash every other page of the book trying to understand Jared, his motives, his actions, anything. BUT with a guaranteed HEA I was willing to stick it out.
The premise of a semi-long term forced proximity with your lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers forbidden hottie rock star was amazing and I loved every minute of being inside Ella's head to witness Jared through her eyes and learn more about herself and what she wants.
Overall I really liked this book, but just know before going into it that it's a bit of a mindfuck if you don't know who Jared is from the other books (if he's really delved into at all in the other books?). Worth it though since there's some really great messages and character development throughout the book.
Possible TWs: implied potential "cheating", mental illness (anxiety)

I found this easy to read and enjoyable. The story flowed nicely and I engaged with both characters. There was a lot of insights into him that made me smile.
I've never read anything by this author but I plan to read the rest of this series.

This is the fourth book in this series but can be read as a standalone. I look forward to reading more from this series. I highly recommend this book. This is the first book that I have read by Morgana Bevan and can’t wait to read the rest

Complimentary copy provided by publisher and NetGalley in exchange for my honest review and opinion.
This is a steamy rock star romance that leaves you smiling and happy for the strong characters and their undeniable chemistry.

My first thought on this book was that the title doesn't make a whole lot of sense, unless Jared was "defying" by acting like a manwh0re? I don't typically critic titles but this one just felt like a random word was selected to fit the theme of the series.
Beyond that the book was okay. The time spent snowed in was enjoyable and "authentic" but even that started to feel like it was dragging on. I'm not entirely sure what I didn't like about it, just that it lacked substance (especially in the "redemption" part of the book). It was just okay for me.

This was a wonderful continuation for this series. The books may not need to be read together, but it's been really nice seeing characters from or mentioned in previous books having their own story. Each story is different and unique in it's own way while still bringing forth a great story between characters. I really loved seeing what happened in this story. Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this book.

A very strong blend of “I love you” “I hate you”, but not in a bad way. The push and pull was a little hard to stand at times , but I understood by the end of the book that it was to add depth to the relationship. The constant struggle of fighting something that could be so right. I enjoyed this book. It was fast paced and I loved that I didn’t have to read the rest of the series to understand what was going on even though the series is interconnected. I really liked that there was vulnerability in this story and the SPICE was immaculate. Who knew Monopoly could be hot? Definitely would recommend giving it a read.

If you're looking for a feel-good love story with wonderful characters and a romantic and entertaining story, don't miss Defying Ella.

I enjoyed this - especially the second half which seemed to have more character development.
I thought the spicy scenes were well done and I liked how it all came together at the end.
I’m the first half I found that their feelings changed too quickly from hot and cold with little reasoning which is why I rated this 3 stars rather than 4.
Overall an enjoyable bit of escapism!

A steamy rock star story. Ella is extremely attracted to a bad boy rockstar and is stuck with him during a snowstorm. She falls for him anyways....
Love both characters! Totally explosive chemistry. Really enjoy this quick-paced romance.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

This book was fun. I think it could be improved by having Jared’s pov since I still think some of his reasoning doesn’t make sense but it’s okay. Jared and Ella are cute and I want to see their proposal.
I received an arc through netgalley.

I was so confused reading this book, the story felt so fragmented.
I had really high hopes and it contained a lot of my favourite tropes, forced proximity; but this story fell flat.
It felt as though character development and story progression took one stop forward and three steps back. For me this just didn’t live up to my expectations
