My Thoughts: Hannah and her brother, along with their friend group decides go to an upscale cabin for the weekend. Although Hannah really did not want to go, they went because it is just easier than to deal with Mako. There are a lot of characters and at first, it is a little confusing. However, as the story progresses, you get a sense of who is who, and what role they play in the story. As with any dysfunctional family, there are secrets and betrayal at the root, which slowly erupt. There is the plot and a few subplots that evolve throughout the story. I felt like there was a few subplots that could have been explored more that would have elevated the book.
The story is narrated by multiple characters, in their viewpoints. The cabin is an excellant location for a creepy psychological thriller. With a little more detail, it would have really elevated the storyline. The characters are flawed, but this adds an element to the storyline. The characters were created with depth, had secrets, were mysterious, and captivating. The author’s writing style was complex, creative, suspenseful, and intriguing. At times, some of the facts of the story did not make sense initially, but it all comes together in the end. The flow and pace of the story was great.
Overall, this was a good psychological thriller that kept me on my toes. The audiobook was easier to follow with the multiple characters. It does have an excellent creepy vibe with the cabin and a good amount of exposing secrets that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend giving this audiobook a try, I do not think you will be disappointed.

Wow just wow
I am pretty fussy on what tropes I love in thrillers. I love multiple timelines and POVs, isolated settings and unreliable narrators. This book had all of these in abundance.
I loved that everyone had something to hide, nobody was who I thought and I certainly didn't see the twists.
Fantastic from one of my fave authors.
4.5 stars

Thanks to Netgalley and author Lisa Unger for a copy of this book. I really enjoyed this book. The pace was relentless and the plot kept me guessing. I love these sorts of books where you have groups of people isolated together and secrets come out of the woodwork and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. Highly recommended. I will be keeping an eye out for what Lisa writes next.

Lisa Unger is an autobuy author for me now. I loved the different perspectives in this book and how the story unfolded over the course of the book.
I liked some of our main characters, hated others, and felt sorry for some. The characters were well rounded and I was so surprised by the ending and how all of the characters fit together in the end.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone who likes isolated setting or domestic thrillers.

This book was a little disjointed to begin with but everything came together in the last 20%
There were a lot of characters and points of view. There were six people in the cabin: Hannah, her husband Bruce, her brother Mako, his wife Liza, childhood bestie Cricket and her boyfriend who had a name that i forgot. There were five POVs- Hannah and Cricket but also cabin owner Bracken, and Trina (we didn’t know who she was until way into the book). Additionally there were chapters from the pov of Henry which took place over a decade before the book. Who was Henry? That was revealed in the last few chapters
I feel like this book had good bones. It just tried to do too much, there were way too many irrelevant POVs. Bracken was creepy but kind of irrelevant. Henry could have had their own book because they didn’t really feel involved.l
I liked that Hannah and Cricket learned that actions have consequences but it feels like they only felt guilty because of the danger they were facing. I couldn’t wrap my head around why everyone would cover for the awful human being? Bruce was a good guy, I liked Bruce

You think you know your family, but do you really? And then there is the question of nature vs. nurture. Secluded Cabin, Sleeps Six takes place over a weekend getaway in a luxurious mountain retreat. Mako and Liza invite his sister, Hannah, her husband, Bruce, their family friend Cricket and her new boyfriend Joshua to a lavish weekend in the mountains. Mako and Cricket have a past. It seems they may also have a current relationship in spite of Mako’s marriage. Bruce seems to be hiding things from Hannah. And Liza has secrets of her own. There is a second story that runs through the book. Henry and his half-sister, Cat, are discovering their family history from their sperm donor father. Truthfully, this second story confused me. I almost quit reading because it was so different from the main story. But Unger brings them together in the end in spectacular fashion. The characters were well developed. The storyline interesting. Once I got past the idea of the second storyline, I was intrigued. I give it four stars.

It was supposed to be a get away from it all weekend in a luxury cabin. Mako has gathered his wife, Liza, sister, Hannah, brother in law Bruce, & family friend Cricket along with her boyfriend. From the start things are a bit strained Wi-fi is patchy & none of the party seems to be able to cope without it. Mako becomes even more controlling than usual & a hurricane cuts them off completely. Although this is a tale told in many different books I found it was worth persevering with. At times it was confusing with so many points of view but for me it was an enjoyable read. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

What a good thriller! I had no clue what was going to happen. I love a locked door mystery and this was no exception. It was smart, unique, and kept my attention. I will definitely check out Lisa Ungers other titles!

I love an isolated thriller. The suspense builds like no other. I couldn't stop turning the pages to see who was in danger and the secrets that would be revealed. And while I had a fun time, this story didn't really surprise me or offer anything new. But I would recommend it as a dependable book that most would enjoy.

This was fast-paced and suspenseful with nice surprises along the way! This is my favorite type of thriller. Definitely go in blind to this one!

This was an okay read, i thought it had some interesting moments but it was kind of all over the place for me. I thought that some characters were given enough depth but for the most part, they felt underdeveloped and kind of 2 dimensional. The drama was plotted okay but it could have been better.

Hannah and her husband join her best friend and her new boyfriend at a gorgeous, secluded rental house to celebrate with her brother, Mako, and his wife. But once they are in the house things start getting spooky when Hannah swears she saw someone in the woods. Was it a ghost? Edibles-induced paranoia? Then when one of the guests goes missing things get even crazier. Did the guest run away, or is there something sinister going on?
I liked this book a lot. I love an alternating POV in a book, but I must admit the five perspectives got a little confusing after awhile. One of the stories was a complete throwaway and another was a good story, but I am not sure it was the most relevant.
Thank you netgalley for an arc of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This is decidedly one of the best books I've read this year so far. It caught my attention for sure with it's complex characters and a compelling story. The twists and turns are intricately woven into the twisted plots. There is so much suspense and tension in this story that I was not putting this book down until I finished it. It was awesome.

Thanks to #netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. This was a secluded psychological thriller about three couples who vacation in a luxury cabin in the woods of Georgia. With the threat of a hurricane, hidden motives come to light, affairs are revealed, and a dark secret is unearthed, culminating in murder. It was a twisty, atmospheric read, told from multiple points of view with alternating timelines between the past and present. It was a a twisty thriller that had my mind spinning, well worth reading. #lisaunger #secludedcabinsleepssix #netgalley #goodreads #litsy #thestorygraph #tea_sipping_bookworm #thriller #bookqueen #bookstagram #kindle

I had been in a book rut for a few weeks and this book was just what I needed. While I wouldn’t say thriller, more suspense, I really enjoyed it. The book made me question the why numerous times. I felt for Hannah, she loved her brother so much, and he wasn’t kind. I liked the talk regarding the genetic testing as this is such a prevalent topic in todays’s world. I will be picking up the next book Lisa Unger writes as she has made me a believer with yet another great read!

A fast-paced and entertaining creepy thriller with an unsettling plot around DNA and genetics. The story has a cast of characters and everyone has something to hide. The story is narrated from numerous perspectives and I found most of the characters to be unpleasant but that is what kept me interested in the story.
ARC was provided by NetGalley and Legend Press in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this suspenseful and creepy thriller. Full of mystery, intrigue, and secrets. This book just confirmed for me that I am never submitting my DNA through one of those kits! Pure craziness, but super entertaining and kept me turning the pages. Thriller fans will love this one.
Thank you to NetGalley and Legend Press for this eARC.

Thank you to Lisa Unger, Legend Press and NetGalley for providing me with an ebook copy of Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six for me to read and review. I enjoyed that this was written from multiple points of view, so that readers can see different sides of the larger picture. The characters were unique and interesting and kept me curious through the book. I found the plot to be quite slow moving and I really wasn't feeling the pull to keep reading until more than 3/4 of the way through. There were mysterious details and connections that weren't made clear until near the end of the book and I would have been much more hooked if there had been some hints and details earlier in the story. I love not knowing the 'answer' until the very end, but the slow moving first 3/4 has outweighed the surprises and conclusion of the ending in my personal opinion.

Three couples that all have their issues and their secrets find themselves at a cabin that is quite literally in the middle of nowhere.
Everyone is excited about the trip, looking forward to having some time together to reconnect and recharge but one of them just can't shake that feeling that something isn't right., she doesn't know how to put it into words and knows that if she references one old blogger post everyone will just brush it off so she keeps her feelings to herself, until that moment she wishes she hadn't.
With a creepy caretaker that gives me Norman Bates vibes what could go wrong, I'll tell you what can go wrong, lots of things, and then there's always that pesky little thing... murder...
Who will find the answers they're seeking, who will make mistakes that can't be taken back, and who will survive a weekend in a Secluded Cabin that Sleeps Six?
Thank you to Legend Press and NetGalley for providing a copy of this ebook, I have voluntarlily read and reviewed it and all thouhtsand opinions are my own.
