Review for NetGalley:
I think there’s a bit of a disconnect between what this novel sells itself as (cute Christmas romance) versus what it is (spicy scenes with Christmas themed lube).
Bea is a plus size porn star who is accidentally cast in a Hallmark style movie. She’s starring opposite her teenage crush, Nolan Shaw, who fell from boyband fame following an alleged orgy at the Olympics. There aren’t many cute romantic scenes as these two experience insta-lust from the start and quickly establish a friends with benefits relationship.
It’s really great to see such a body positive, sex positive book featuring two LGBT main characters, but I wanted more depth of feeling and to watch the relationship evolve.
This really caught me off guard!
I was expecting a cute festive romcom, what I got was extra festive and extra hot and spicy.
I found this incredibly funny and hugely diverse.
Blowing stereotypes out the window .
Highly recommend this to anyone who likes a little "extra" in their festive romances.
The audiobook narrators both did a great job bringing this book together.
I really enjoyed this book. It was the spicy hallmark christmas story we have all been waiting for and who better to give it to us than these two wonderful humans??
First of all, I didn't expect all that spice behind this cutesy festive cover!
I very much enjoyed this book at the start, it was perfectly charming, spicy and festive. The narrators fit the characters well and the book got me through the start of the dreaded present wrapping.
I did feel like the characters got together too soon, I'd have liked a bit of of a slowburn in their situation. Especially when Nolan found out who Bee really was, it could have been played on a little bit more. More chemistry, more tension and more build up.
Overall an OK festive read
Bee Hobbes is accidentally picked to star in a Christmas movie alongside ex-boy band bad boy Nolan Shaw, the two are soon breaking rules and trying to keep secrets.
I loved this! There were so many 'dirty' secrets I felt I was in on and no one else knew it made me giddy. The narrative is extremely entertaining and one you will not see coming.
These two authors have teamed up together to create a saucy Christmas storyline full of eye-widening scenes and some that will give you a tingle in between your legs.
This novel is written by switching the point of view of the two main characters, with the readers seeing both sides
Don't let this pink and Christmassy cover let you think of candy floss and the smell of cinnamon unless it's the flavour of a tube of lube, I did find this misleading but I honestly didn't mind, however, I feel this novel should be categorised with erotic fiction as it definitely fits this genre. For anyone who loves a lot of spice, this is for you.

This book was not what I expected from the cover. The narration to be the voices didn't fit. Bee is highly skilled in embarrassing female protagonists and, consequently, boring. She defines herself only by her gender and her lust for Nolan. That's her personality. She seemed very foolish and seeking instant gratification, but I had difficulty visualising her physically. We know she's fat, but what kind of fat isn't she? / We need innovative solutions and bigger bodies, and it's not real. Which is not reflected in the book,
Nolan is fleshed out with a backstory and a bit more personality. But he's also very immature, especially at his job. All the answers were corny and irritating and made me want to burn that damn hat.

This was unlike anything I've ever listened to before. I've not read anything by the author, so I really had no idea what to expect.
What did I get? I got humour, plus sized female main character, current topics, spice, romance and a fun-time!
It's certainly a conversation starter! I just found it really fun, and I thought it was really well done. The narration was a great pace, I just perhaps shouldn't have started it at work... I was ALL the facial expressions when listening to this one - very much recommend!
Not quite what I was expecting for a cosy Christmas read and I didn’t immediately warm to any of the characters I have to admit. For some reason it didn’t quite reach the mark for me, but with any Christmas book, I always love the Christmas vibes and the concept for the story was a clever one.
We all watch Christmas movies each year, and it was a clever spin to include a plot of festive movie making. I did breeze in and out of it and some parts held my attention more than others. It’s fab for representation all round so it’s great if you’re looking for that mixed with a Christmas spin, it’s worth a read/ a listen. The audiobook I listened to was great and really easy to listen to.
But all in all it was okay but not quite my jam.
Absolutely loved that the main female character was not only plus size but a plus size adult film star.
The story was great, funny in places. The mums were amazing, love them!
o many things to love…
A plus sized FMC, who works in adult entertainment, has two moms and is bi.
An ex bad boy of a boy band, subscribes to his favourite pVrn star, has a parent with bipolar disorder, he’s also bi.
And brilliantly diverse and badass supporting characters.
They work together for a squeaky clean Hallmark-esque Christmas movie so there’s plenty of puns and double entendres. It’s cute, funny, steamy and wraps up (a bit quickly) in a big bow!
As an actress has an accident before starting to film a christmas movie, her producer has no choice but to send Bee in her stead, Bee the known porno star. She will have to work incognito and with her co-star and crush of teenage time, Nolan, the ex boy band member. He has a complicated private life situation and needs the money. But he also know exactly who Bee is....
This was cute and sexy. A lot of fat and sex positivity, Bee is staying true to herself and to what she is and Nolan might not be the one the medias are making him to be.
I received an audiobook from NetGalley and all the opinions are my own.
I enjoyed this book, though I do think it could’ve been about 100 pages shorter in the middle, maybe? The entire kitschy Christmas movie set up was very fun and the characters were peak millennial and knew it, which I loved! But I was definitely expecting there to be more spice. I mean Bee’s bag of toys was referenced *multiple* times by both Bee and Nolan, and yet we got zero on page usage of said toys on any character. Like what?! Why not?!
Would I definitely read a second book about Luca and Angel? 100,000%
That being said the audiobook narration was spectacular! So I gave it a bonus star for that.
I listened to the audio version of this book and I have to say I’ve never listened to or experienced something quite like this book. It’s a completely unique holiday plot. It’s quite steamy and quite unbelievable at times. It took me a while to get into the story because I was expecting this to be more of a traditional holiday romance. Overall a good romantic comedy and if you fancy reading or listening to something slightly different for the holidays, check this one out.
This is a hot and spicy Christmas romance, which was a surprise to me, as looking at the beautiful cover of the book, I thought it would be an innocent and cute romantic Christmas book. However, I still really enjoyed it, and I ended up loving it.
The story is a bit different to the type of books I normally read. Bee, who is a porn star gets together to make a movie with ex boyband member Nolan. They instantly hit it off, and the chemistry between them is off the rails. I enjoyed reading about their antics together, and as well as them being sexual together, they also had a lot of humour between them, which made me laugh.
The audiobook narrators both did a great job at portraying the characters, and I think if you are going to buy this book, then please buy the audiobook version, as it is really good!
If you are looking for a bit of hot spice in your hot chocolate this Christmas season, then this is the book for you! Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the author, narrators, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.
Narrated by Joy Nash; Sebastian York ⭐⭐⭐
These authors were ok. Had nice voices but overall I didnt love the way they brought this book to life.
Authors Julie Murphy & Sierra Simone ⭐⭐⭐
You know the saying never judge a book by its cover. Well this is exactly why! What I thought I was getting was a sweet RomCom and what I got was.... Well no spoilers here.
This book had me laughing out loud at some moments, but overall it felt like a story that was trying really hard to be super cool instead of naturally being just a cool book. In saying that I'd still recommend it to a select group of people because it's definitely not going to be everyones cup of tea.
I went into this audiobook without much expectations, as I usually do for romcoms as it's not my favourite genre. But I really enjoyed it !
I love that the MC is plus size (finally!), great diversity, representation AND a very out there story ! It's not just your average cute rainbows and unicorns usual love story and I really like that !
Thank you NetGalley for sending me the Advanced Listener Copy, in exchange for my honest review.
A Merry Little Meet Cute is about Bee Hobbes a.k.a. Bianca von Honey, a porn star with a popular Closed Doors account (basically OnlyFans) who has the chance to star as the lead in a Christmas movie. The Holidayflix movie is about a time traveling English gentleman and a modern girl's love story and discovery of the true meaning of Christmas, co-starring ex-boy band star Nolan Shaw, her teen crush and infamous bad boy. What she doesn't know is that after Nolan's last public scandals he is desperate to revive his career and fortunes to support his mother and his sister, not to mention that he is also her biggest supporter on ClosedDoors.
So can these two co-stars manage professionalism on set and keep their secret crushes on each other a secret?
What did I like: A Merry Little Meet Cute is co-written by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone so I had anticipated 2 things. 1. This is going to be a cute holiday romance. 2. Things are going to get spicy and it delivered on those two promises!
I enjoyed diving into Bee's perspective and her journey as a plus-size woman who want and have both sexual desirability and love. She's likable, confident and uncompromising when it comes to her own self-worth. She's an inspiration. I love her.
Nolan's had the most growth throughout the book. He had a million problems - a damaged reputation, no money, a failed career, a bipolar mother and teenage sister to care for, a scandal that the media wouldn't forget. The last thing he needed in this bid to relaunch his career as a reformed musician was to be romantically involved with his co-star who is also a porn star. He is unsure, desperate and had to grow a lot to be worthy of Bee.
There are some amusing moments where the two worlds of the adult film industry and wholesome Hallmark film industry collided and it's a chuckle. Especially when the movie producer Teddy Ray Fletcher is also the adult film producer Uncle Ray Ray and he wants everyone affiliated to the adult film industry a secret and you know it will all be revealed eventually.
This is definitely a fun romp, and the narrators Joy Nash and Sebastian York did a good job collectively. Even though it is a dual point-of-view narrative, they were able to give all the characters a consistent voice that was easy to follow.
A former boy band star and a curvy porn star meet on the set of a Hallmark Christmas film with filming taking place over the Christmas weeks and become involved in a steamy relationship, which is forbidden and not accepted by the media. This story is about their meet cute. I gave it three stars because I found the pacing a little slow-moving, and it kept mentioning the same subjects so many times. The writing is witty in places.
Wow! Steamy christmas romance!
Unsure on the original reviews saying its hilarious - yes there are a few quirky bits in it, but it's certainly not laugh out loud.
Nonetheless it is a good plot with sound characters which you believe like each other! The narrators are good, it took me a while to get used to their voices but by the end I couldn't image anyone else being the characters!
Overall this was an enjoyable audiobook! Just like the title it was a very merry little meet cute between the two MCs. I loved how there was a lot of representation of queer characters, both the MCs were bisexual, with our heroine being a plus size porn star which we rarely see in books. This was equal parts sweet and spicy and I loved that the plus size character got to have her happy ending whilst advocating for body positivity and sex work. My only critique was the insta love aspect of the novel, although Bee and Nolan had been fans of each others work it felt really forced and unrealistic that they fell for each other in two weeks. I do feel like something was missing and this could've worked better if the two had gotten to know each other over a longer period of time. That being said this is a holiday themed novel so of course it is slightly justified that everything took place in such a short time frame. In terms of narration I wish a younger male narrator was used, don't get me wrong I absolutely love Sebastian York but I don't think his voice fit the character.
