I am a singer, and am a sucker for a book that is music related. Adding some romance makes it even better.
Was engaged in this book from the very beginning. I enjoyed reading a different point of views from each main character. Eli and Wil so adorable together. This is a book that should be targeted for older audiences as well, and not just teen and young adult. Thank you netgalley for allowing me to read review this book.

The story follows El and Wil as they take LA by storm in both music and film, both working towards their life goals and dreams, while supporting and disappointing their families. To quote the book – Family is complicated, and this is not right.
El only wants to be a singer, but her rock star father who is now music producer wants her to have a hand behind the scenes.
Wil, German film student explores the music side of film making, taking a film program by storm.
Together they form the group WE. Apart, their lies and secrets can hold them together, or tear them apart.
Reading this book, it was hard, as Wil’s secret (Which you find out early) made it hard for me to root for these characters from the beginning. I liked their dynamic but was put off quickly at any budding romance. I loved however how the spilt POV let you see how both the characters were dealing with big life drama, support, and lack thereof. I especially enjoyed seeing their different worlds collide once El let her guard down and allowed Wil to see how hard it is being a rocker’s child, between bodyguards, press and the ever-watching eyes.
Those who want to read – beware of cliff hanger, for me a character’s choice towards the end made it hard for me to follow, right until the last page when a cliff hanger came – We Breathe to come out in 2023 to continue to story.
