Just slightly disappointed with this one . Wasn’t at all what I was expecting . And unfortunately I didn’t finish it .
I absolutely loved the premise but didn’t quite deliver

I love picking up a Samantha Young book, I’m always excited to see what is held in its pages, .Is it light hearted , will it be a more emotional romance, I love the unknown and I love how she covers issues so sensitively too. A great read

It basically turned from "I wouldn't marry me either / A pathological people pleaser" to "Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close, forever and ever?"

I love everything Samantha Young writes. A wonderful read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an e-ARC copy of this book, in exchange for this honest review.

So I know we shouldn't judge books by their covers butI definitely got the vibes of a lighthearted rom com style romance for this and yet what I actually got was a journey of self discovering with a sprinkling of humour, so classically obviously mean ex girlfriend and father characters and two main characters who had some real world relationship issues to get through before declaring their happy ever after.
I don't think the story was bad and I think it was well written but maybe it was just a little bipolar in its genre. It's hard to give a book a star rating when you were expecting it to be something different.
Ultimately, I liked our two main characters and I liked their journey of self discovery and how they helped each other on their respective journeys...but that was just it...I liked it, I didn't love it.

I've tried picking up this book a few times, and can't get past 25%. Not because it is a bad book, but because the themes are a lot heavier than advertised. I requested this expecting a light hearted romance, and that's not what this book is!

I'm going to DNF, but I'm not going to post a review as I think this just isn't a book for me, rather than it being a bad book.

I really enjoy books from this author, I think her spicy scenes are perfect whereas some authors write those types of scenes so cringey. I liked the idea of video diaries being the reason for the main characters to meet but I didn’t like the miscommunication / evil father & ex gf plot point. I just found it so cliche and disappointing. Overall, it was an enjoyable read but not my favourite from this author

An utterly enchanting and emotional novel about love and romance. The author manages to infuse a thoroughly evocative atmosphere into a page-turner plot The overall feeling from reading this book is like being enveloped in a warm hug from that special someone in your life.

I went into this thinking that this book was a feel-good romance and feel like the hype leading up to the launch definitely sold it as one, but reading it, it felt a lot like each one's personal journey and them finding each other in the end. Personally, parts of the book fell flat, there were some plot holes and the pacing was off in places. However, the author did a great job in handling the more emotional parts of the book, touching on themes that I am not typically used to reading about. These stronger and more emotional tones are what really made the book worth the read.

This is the first book that I've read from Samantha Young and I was immediately on board when I read the premise/blurb.
However, I went into this expecting a romance and that almost felt like it was playing second fiddle to the drama that was going on in the characters lives, instead of being the main focus, which was disappointing.
I also found quite a lot of it rather frustrating. I know to expect some level of frustration when it comes to a romance and the inevitable third act break up or miscommunication trope but it was more than that with this book.
It did start off strong but then waned as it went on. And the pacing was pretty slow too.
However, I would be interested in reading more from this author as it did have a lot of promise. I just wish there had been more romance than anything else.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This romance was so different, but brilliant just the same. This book is not only sweet, lighthearted, feelgood romance, it’s so emotional, poignant, a little angsty and powerful.

This was a nice easy going romance, great for a holiday read. There wasn't any game playing between them. There was a hidden secret but I liked how it was handled.

The characters were great, you could definitely picture them together and it wasn't too instant lovey, they discovered a lot about each other through video messaging before they actually met in person. I liked that the characters got together half way through the book so the book could explore their relationship, usually romance books get together at the end.

I also really enjoyed the addition of the NASA and space facts that were included, added another element to the book.

My Rating; 3.5/5 stars
This book was sweet; it almost gave me a toothache. If two people were meant to meet, it was Hallie and Christopher. I liked the whole idea of the universe bringing two strangers together and making them fall for each other.
This book read more like Women's Fiction than Contemporary Romance. Highlighting self-love and standing up for oneself made that clear for me.

Hallie’s parents separation cut her deep and her struggles to cope up was portrayed well.

I liked most part of this book except for the conflict between our MCs in the third act; it was a cliché. I wanted the ex out of the picture for most part of the book, for it would have given our MCs more time to be together.
It was disappointing that Christopher didn't see his dad’s manipulation at play; it was so obvious and I was with Hallie on this one.

I would still recommend this book because Christopher and Hallie’s interactions were absolutely cute. Their love was cosmic in the truest sense!

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the free DRC of the book!

This had all the tick boxes of a wonderful romance but was horrendously slow which made it rather difficult to read. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book.

This was an enjoyable book. That I finished it in just over a day. It's was a great story and up until 3/4 of this book it was a 4 star book. I liked the characters they were fun and realistic. The story-line was enjoyable and developed well. The end just didn't work for me. I liked how the book switched between the male and female lead characters point of view. The spice level of this book is a 2 to 3 out of 5. This book felt as if it was drawing to an end around page 300 and it felt like a great enjoyable story, but then it just went on for another 100 pages and it just ft like it wasn't needed and it shopped holding my interest which I was rather gutted about as it was going so well. I really wanted to love this book more than I did as it was there a solid 4 stars a great ending but the last 100 page for me made it drop to a 3 star average read. If you like the synopsis then you could always try a sample to see if this book is for you. As I an just one person and you might really love the last quarter of the book.

Many thanks to the author for creating an mostly enjoyable read. I'm sure it will suit others better than it worked for me.

I've read Samantha Young before and really enjoyed her other works but this one unfortunately didn't do much for me. I lost interest quite fast; I went into this expecting a bit more romance, but it felt more about the protagonists' problems and their families. I would have enjoyed it had it been a little faster with the pacing, it was just a little too slow for me and some parts were repetitive.

I also wasn't really a big fan of the main characters either, particularly Chris, Hallie may be a little OTT but at least she's interesting. He felt a little flat to me.

I think this story has a lot of potential though; both MC' have interesting character ARC's and the romance was okay but the internal monologues and family stuff I mentioned before might need to be cut down. More romance :)

This has quickly become one of my favourite reads of the year so far, with all the components to be a great romance novel. The pace was perfect for the plot and I totally felt involved in the developing romance between Chris and Hallie.

"I've been a student and soldier, an astronaut, a scientist, and a writer. And I've never felt a hundred percent certain that any of those things were something I wanted or needed to be." He touched his forehead to mine. "But being yours... that's the only thing in my life I am one hundred percent certain I want and need to be."

This is not your typical romance. This is a book about standing up for yourself, overcoming insecurities, dealing with toxic family, and of course, falling in love.

I had so much fun reading this book. Our female MC Hallie was delightfully ditsy, proud of her success and hard work, and not afraid to laugh at the bizarre situations she found herself in - provided you laugh with her and not at her for these situations. As a people pleaser she deals with a lot of anxiety and is often mistreated by the people she cares about. I really loved the way she was written; it could have been so easy for her to be irritating, the sort of character that made you want to yell at for having no confidence in their worth, but Hallie wasn't like that. Instead, we got to see her grow in confidence and stand up for herself, particularly against her parents whom she obviously loves and wants to have a good relationship with but who weren't treating her as she deserved. I loved how this personal growth played into the conflict in this book (yes you read that right). I thought what happened was so appropriate and well-managed, it felt necessary to both Hallie's journey of self-worth and for Chris to grow in his own way.

I was a little unsure about things when I started reading as Hallie dating someone else at the beginning of the book, however living through the end of this relationship with her is so important to understanding her experiences and why she chooses to protect herself in the ways she does later in the book.

The romance itself was so sweet. Not quite Mariana Zapata level but definitely a slow-burn to me as the two don't meet in real life until about 30% and don't get together until around 60%. However, before the two even meet they are slowly falling for the idea of each other through video diaries. When they do meet they strike up a wonderful friendship that is of course filled with sexual tension and longing in the best way.

Chris was a great hero. He was so supportive of Hallie and built her up where others have always tried to bring her down. I initially thought I could see the conflict of this book from a mile away, but stand-up guy that Chris is, he was upfront and communicated, enabling the pair to deal with the issue without it getting out of hand. He has his own family issues to deal with and is also struggling with a lack of direction and disconnect with his heritage. These didn't get as much page time as Hallie's problems, but I loved how real the two felt because of these elements.

I'll admit I actually wasn't as into things when the two got together. We went from a really cute friendship to a LOT of steam that didn't quite do it for me, but still overall a really great read.

*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this new novel!

I've read several other books by this author and when I requested this one, I hoped that I would enjoy it like the others. I'm not feeling it though.

I have a pet peeve for protagonists who are doormats.. I just can't take it and Hallie takes the prize here. She let's herself be used by her parents and it exhausted me.

Also, when I came to 30 % something didn't add up....when Chris and Hallie meet for the first time at the engagement party Chris acts like he already know her but why would he do that? He's letting her know that HE knows she's the party planner but how would he had gotten that information if he pretends that all her emails with her videos are just bouncing back. He also says to her that he knows how her name is spelled. This is a serious flaw in the novel.

Hereafter I started to skim because it was slow, they didn't meet until 30 % into the book. That's way too long for being a romance..

I'm sorry to say that I wasn't satisfied with this book which is a bummer because the plot is a good one!

Such a sweet feel-good romance.
Book Summary
A cosmic kind of love followers an event planner, Hallie who is very clumsy and doesn't have the best of luck. No one really takes her job seriously but she just wants to be appreciated. Chris on the other hand is an astronaut and is extremely respected and taken seriously. Hallie ends up with Chris's videotapes from space which were meant for his ex but she can’t help but watch. She decides to send a video back but it bounces, so what's the harm in sending some more right?

Wrong, Chris ends up receiving them but can't help but be drawn to Hallie’s bright hair and sense of humour. But what happens when they are both in the same place at the same time? Will there be love at first sight or will it be an awkward moment?

I really enjoyed this heartfelt book and loved the character development, especially Hallie. It left me with a big smile on my face. My only downside would be that there was a bit too much drama going on compared to actual romance but overall it was a really good book.
