This is the first book I have read from this author and it definitely won’t be the last what a great book.

It is a great thrilling ride it starts with a holiday but ends in murder keeps you guessing to the end. One of the group has recently spilt from her husband as she was cheating and he has now been put out the group. The friends decide to go on a holiday to celebrate her new partners birthday but they are all hiding secrets which will end in murder. It is a fantastic thriller which shows what can happen in a group of close friends when there is so many lies and betrayals. Will definitely be recommending this book to all.

Seven of us arrived at a villa on the Amalfi Coast, ready to enjoy a sun-soaked weekend with our oldest friends - and one new face. By the end of the weekend, a terrible accident will leave my husband dead. But how can I mourn him when on the day of the funeral I discover he was having an affair? The only suspects are the women I went on holiday with. My oldest and closest friends.

What a completely engaging and gripping read this book is. The pace is fast throughout, It's unpredictable and very twisted. The chapters alternate between the weekend away and events that happen in the past, and it's told from multiple perspectives. I suspected everybody of Andrew's murder. The characters are well developed but not likeable. There are some surprises along the way in this well written and sensitive read. Things aren't always as they seem. The ending was also a surprise.

I would like to thank #Netgalley #LittleBrownBookGroupUK and the author #LornaMarshall for my ARC of #MyHusbandsKiller in exchange for an honest review.

This book was a very interesting read, from the start it was obvious this was a friendship group where everyone has secrets. It would be in untangling those secrets that the titular killer would be revealed which was still a surprise when I got there as there were just too many options for who might have done it!

The characters were all well written, each a complicated person with their own wants, needs and history. It became quite difficult to try and guess who was responsible as there were too many reasons both historic and current for someone to have killed Andrew.

This was a very interesting tale where reveals happened at regular intervals, quickly enough to keep the interest up but not too many to overwhelm.

I really enjoyed this read.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Liz and her husband, Andrew have been married for years. They have their own home, and two boys. They also have a great group of solid friends. Friendships that have been cultivated since their early twenties. One of their friends, Saffie, has a new boyfriend who happens to be very rich. He treats the group of friends to a break away in Italy, all expenses paid. Their accommodation is perfect, and very lavish. But, once together, the group of friends don’t seem so friendly, with tension bubbling under the surface. But, all that gets forgotten when Andrew goes missing. The group return home with no Andrew and no body. But secrets do not stay under the surface, and everyone has something to hide.

We read this story from Liz’s and Andrew’s perspectives, from before the break in Italy and after, so we get a real sense of the relationship, and how they came together, and how secrets became buried. The characters were all excellently written, and Liz was written perfectly as the grieving widow. All the other characters have flaws, making the reader suspicious of each of them.
The story built with tension along the way, until the explosive ending where all secrets are opened bare. N excellent read as usual from this author!!

My Husband’s Killer is a curious affair. A thriller with little focus on thrills. This is a slow burner, with a large cast of characters who are not particularly likeable or easy to keep track of.
The story focuses on a tight-knit group of friends who’ve known each other since university, and who have headed to Italy to celebrate the birthday of one of their partners. The dynamics between them are all off, primarily because of the break-up of one relationship and the hidden secrets that have been kept.
While on holiday things bubble and one of the party ends up dead. His widow is convinced he was having an affair before he died and that it was with one of her friends. The truth is even more bizarre!
This started well but as we got to know the characters I found myself increasingly irritated by their selfishness and couldn’t wait to find out exactly who’d done what. I wasn’t even that surprised by the ‘shock twist’ as these particular characters were behaving in a way that made you instantly suspicious.
I’m grateful to NetGalley for giving me the chance to read this but I think this will be a tough one to recommend. Guaranteed that some will love it for the very reasons I haven’t!

Liz and her husband Andrew are at a villa with their closest friends when the unthinkable happens, and Andrew dies. Whilst coming to terms with her grief, Liz begins to unravel a number of secrets within their friendship group, including the biggest secret of all - that Andrew's death just might have been murder ...

This is such a clever mystery, with a conclusion that I really didn't see coming! I loved Liz's character and getting to know all her friends whilst trying to work out what was the truth. There was some jumping around to different times, but it actually worked really well and was easy to follow.

Laura Marshall is a go-to for psychological thrillers.

The book begins with Liz, recently widowed after a luxury weekend away with her husband and their close friends, attending her late husband's funeral, consoling her children and her friends rallying round to support her. Except on of her friends is hiding something from Liz. One of her friends know more than they are letting on.

The narrative chronologically jumps between the luxury weekend, the shared past of the group and the present as well as different characters perspectives which is really intriguing as different loyalties, conflicts and experiences are revealed. The group have a lot of history and the author cleverly layers this to show the reaction and responses of characters in the present based on their past.

The depiction of the experience of Liz as a widow was very moving and realistic and I read in the dedication that this was because the author has experienced the loss of her husband. I thought this was very beautifully incorporated, showing the confusion, varying emotions and difficulties that someone losing their life partner experiences.

The unravelling narrative is truly intriguing and as a reader you are left with a number of different suspects, all with motives and reasons that keep them in suspicion.

Another amazing book by a very talented author that keeps you gripped.

Thank you to Laura Marshall, Brown Book Group and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book as an ARC.

This story is a classic whodunnit murder mystery.
It was an easy and entertaining read. I'm always a sucker for dual timelines, so this was fun for me, getting glimpses of the past every chapter or so. There were also multiple POVs, which I absolutely love. The plot was intriguing and got me hooked until the end.
However, I will say that it was a bit odd that the chapters from the MC were written from the first person POV, when all the other POVs were written from the third person POV.
Also beware when going into the book, you will get paranoid about absolutely everyone. But hey, that's half the fun!

A gripping, richly atmospheric thriller. I've been a huge fan of Marshall's writing for a while - she has this way of playing with the reader and teasing out secrets like a magician. The ending through me a bit but otherwise adored.

Three couples are holidaying on the Amalfi Coast. It should be a weekend of positive revelations and celebrations, not least someone’s 50th birthday. However, before the weekend is over, one of them is dead, leading to months of grief and disbelief. The suspects are those who stayed together, and for Liz, whose husband loses his life, she can barely believe her three closest female friends would be responsible, nor their partners. She wants to believe her husband’s death is nothing but a cruel accident. But at least someone is lying to her, and to others. After Liz uncovers an unwanted item in Andrew’s belongings, everything she thought about her husband dances before her eyes. Was he lying to her as much as her other loved ones? And who is responsible? Predict many a secret being uncovering in this nicely paced thriller – and we advise you seeking out Laura’s other thrillers if you enjoyed this (The Anniversary is particularly good).

This book had everything I look for: Believable characters, a good story, secrets and and a holiday setting. The pacing was good and the reveals all came at the right time in my opinion. Most of the characters were not likeable but they were well-written and I found the dynamics between them interesting. The plot held my interest and I enjoyed unravelling the secrets that all the characters were keeping. I didn't quite get a 'wow' moment, but it was a very enjoyable book.

Just an editing note - Sometimes Saffie's children were called 'Milo and Ben' and sometimes it was 'Milo and Seb'.

I have been so excited about this book, I actually squealed when it dropped on the doorstep. I knew I was instantly going to delve into this. Laura Marshall has delivered with a truly gripping gem.

This is a book that hooked me from the very first chapter. I was pulled in and unwilling to put this down. Marshall has packed so much into this, it’s completely impossible to predict where it’s going to go.

Reading, I have been suspicious of EVERYONE. I really haven’t been able to work out who is trustworthy and who isn’t. The events unfold at the perfect pace. As a reader, you are given bit by bit to try to piece things together- I have definitely been unable to predict what was going to take place.

The characters have been a mixed group in this one. Some you can’t help but feel empathy for, whilst others you just roll your eyes at instantly. A close knit group of friends are bound to have secrets. We definitely see these unfold, some are shocking and some milder.

I have really felt for Liz in this one. Losing her husband, dealing with grief, adapting to life as a single parent; it’s impossible to not want to just give her a hug.

I have loved that we get a variety of perspectives from this book. I feel this gives the reader an opportunity to explore and get to know the characters on another level.

Marshall writes flawlessly, the plot just flows and unfolds as you turn page after page. My Husband’s Killer is captivating and enthralling. I have been transported by this one and felt as though I have been watching the events play out in front of me.

This book is definitely screenworthy. I would love to watch this as a movie or series. I wish I could experience this as a first read all over again. There is nothing negative I can say about this book. Everyone needs to read this, My Husband’s Killer is Laura Marshall’s best book yet.

I enjoyed this read and the deception at its heart. Marshall writes this between the present and past and it was intriguing to read as events slowly start to catch up with each other and secrets are revealed. Marshall throws in a lot of secrets and twists throughout which ensured I was kept on my toes. I liked the characters as well.

At times intriguing, at times confusing ( re the biggish cast list and how they all interacted with each other, most of them over decades ) this ‘Whodunit’ for me was solved in my head about half way through, I was crowing I was right, and I was but then the last chapter kinda changed all that….I will say no more
This book so far has great reviews, for me it was a theme have read quite a few similar of recently, friends meet up abroad at a villa for a weekend, secrets, lies and more of both are itching to be set free and when they are choas ensues
The author does cover grief very well and only when reading the acknowledgements did I realise why and found this quite moving
The setting in Italy is beautifully described and with all things considered it was a goodish read that proves again this authors talents ( Friend Request her first book I still think about now )

This is a great psychological thriller from Laura Marshall. 'My Husband's Killer' sees Liz in a horrible position, having to tell her children that their loving father is not only missing, but presumed dead, while on a luxury weekend abroad.

The story starts 3 months on from the holiday, on the day of the funeral. Liz makes a startling, a very unwelcome, discovery, that leads her to believe her late husband was having an affair with one of her best friends. The question of who, is forefront in Liz' mind, and leads to a past time line. It transpires that all her friends had motive to see Andrew dead, but as the story unfolds the secrets of all involved pile up thick and fast.

This is a book that had absolutely no issues in holding my attention, rather it was an absolute treat to dip into! Any readers of this genre absolutely won't regret picking up this novel!

My thanks to `Netgalley, author and for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.
