My First Farm Animals is a cloth book that features 10 animals found on a farm including a sheep and a llama. The illustrations are bright and quirky. The interactive format is meant for babies but I'm sure parents and older siblings will also enjoy this.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the digital ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Introduce a young child to farm animals in this vividly colored title. Many commonly known animals grace the pages of this appealing title. This is a cloth book so it is just perfect for the littlest hands.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for this title. All opinions are my own.
Very simple to get the youngest of children interested in reading from an early age.
Very bright and colourful images made it very eye-catching and i can see younger children would love it.
Fun eye catching colors but one of the animals is missing the name. I think it is a goose or duck. The sheepdog is misrepresented. The picture is of a border collie with 3 tails??? Sheep dogs no not look like that. not something I'd share with the kids.
I love the idea behind this!
The images and pictures used are bright and attractive
I had something similar for my daughter when she was younger but this much better!
cute childrens book but sadly my daughter wasn't a fan of it.
the drawings of the animals looked a bit weird looking.
wish it was more true what the animals looked like because my daughter kept saying no to this book.
One of the pages was missing the name of the animal.
id give it 3 stars
Yes, you too can your pre-toddler fully prepped for the next time they find a llama down the local farm with minimal effort. Actually, you can't – which is why products like this are mentally stimulating playthings, tools to get the hands and eyes attuned to using the other mentally stimulating playthings we call books. Now I saw this digitally and cannot quite get a successful mental image of what the product is, and how it turns from a book to a block of things into a "bonus puzzle game", and so all I can report on is what is on the page. And these are fine – yes they have a lot of 70s-influenced colour clashes and design quirks, and the mind boggles as to what the sheepdog is jumping quite like that for, but these books are intended to grab the eye and make holding book-shaped things with, say, more realistic pigs and cattle in, more attractive. And they certainly achieve that.
Brilliant primary colours make these farm animals leap off the page to catch a baby's attention in this cloth book which when used with the others in the series becomes a toy to investigate as well as enjoy.
I received an advanced copy of this thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the opinions expressed are my own. As my preview copy was an e.book I am unable to comment on the softness of the cloth but the content will make a great first book which can be linked to others in this series. This will make a great gift for my grandson's first Christmas.
Another beautiful book by Margaux Carpentier, suitable for babies and toddlers. The beautiful, bold illustrations are really engaging, colours chosen thoughtfully to be attention grabbing and contrasting for early readers. Names are written boldly and the layout and formatting is engaging. Even digitally, this captured my babies attention. A brilliant starter book that would be a wonderful gift.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
