I thought that this audiobook was narrated well, except for the telephone calls and I had to increase the volume.
The story was well planned and the characters very likeable.
I will definitely look out for this author again.
Highly recommended for an easy to listen to audiobook.
I have enjoyed Alan Johnson’s other work and so was eager to get my hands on this audiobook and I was not disappointed! First of all I loved Richard Attlee’s narration that enhances Alan Johnson’s novel even more! A joy to listen to. It’s a pacy crime thriller about government minister Lord Bellingham who has gone missing on the island of Crete. Enter Louise Mangan of the Metropolitan Police whose job it is to track Lord Bellingham down This is a great storyline full of skullduggery, Murder, criminal activity and the odd red herring! An engaging and excellent read to keep you entertained! Thank you Headline Audio and Netgalley
I loved Alan Johnson's autobiographies and this was the first novel of his I'd read. Sadly I haven't enjoyed it at all. I've slogged thought 20% but just can't face any more. I suspect it's just not my thing. I found no depth in the characters, no complexity and I just didn't care what happened or to whom.
The narration was wonderful, great voice, tone and speed. Sorry I couldn't stick it out.
