The Bros are back in town! Yay! And it’s Christmas! Colton Wheeler the pretty boy of country music has one night with hotshot lawyer Gretchen Winthrop and can’t get her out of his head but she makes it clear it was a one time thing and never to be repeated. This has never happened to Colton before and he’s still hung up on it a year later when his record company tells him his latest, overdue record isn’t good enough. So obviously he goes to a bar to drown his sorrows and of all the bars in all the world who walks into his with a multimillion dollar proportion- Gretchen Winthrop. The Bro’s books are all really pretty solid but I have to say this was probably my least favourite, there was hardly any Bromance action which has been dwindleing steadily from book to book even though it is the highlight of each one. I also couldn’t get along with Gretchen. I liked her in the little glimpses we got of her in the previous books but she was pretty awful to Colton for most of the book and yet it was Colton who has to run after her. They both made some mistakes but in my option hers were bigger and she did less to make of it. There Reasons of course but they weren’t good enough to excuse some of her behaviour. So if this is the last book I will be sad to see the bros go. I really wanted Cheese Man to get his own book!
A Very Merry Bromance - Lyssa Kay Adams
This is the second book I have read in The Bromance Book Club series and I think I enjoyed it even more than the last.
This time around we follow Colton and Gretchen as our main two characters and they were just fab.
Colton was really interesting coming from the country music background and Gretchen had so many layers that needed peeling back. I was rooting for them the whole way through.
I really like how in each book we get to still enjoy aspects from the other members of the Bromance Book Club. I cannot wait for the next one!
Thank you so much NetGalley and Headline Eternal for the e-arc in return for my honest opinion.
A great festive read. Colton had one night with Gretchen and wants more. It's nearly a year later and they both want something from the other. Will this be a second chance for them?
Can't wait for the next book in this series.
This is the perfect festive read, but don’t wait until Christmas to read it! If you are fans of Sally Thorne, Tessa Bailey, and Jasmine Guillory you’ll love Lyssa Kay Adams’ Bromance Book Club series.

In A Very Merry Bromance we see, Mr cinnamon roll himself, Colton return and finally get to see his chance at love! After being ghosted after a one-night stand a year ago, country music sensation Colton is struggling to produce his new album.
⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Meanwhile, Gretchen (heiress who could be the child of the grinch and Scrooge) a non-profit immigration attorney is given a chance to be on the team of her family's famous whiskey brand. The only catch is that she needs to bag Colton Wheelers as the new brand ambassador. The only issue is… he’s the guy she ghosted!
⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After a year, she gets in contact with him and he gives her an ultimatum… ambassadorship for dates.
⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This was such a fun read, it's suuuuper swoony and humour filled! We got to see some of the other members of the book club return which was a joy and the Christmas pop culture references throughout the book were a fun touch.

Don’t let this being part of a series scare you off, it can be read as a standalone.
The Bromance boys are back with a fifth instalment, this time a Christmas romance and it did not disappoint!
Here we have grumpy Gretchen who is an immigration lawyer, and Christmas-loving sunshine Colton the country star. I was so pleased that Colton got his own book!
Adams normally weaves serious issues into her storytelling really well, and this is true in AVMB too. We originally met Gretchen in Undercover Bromance and I originally found her level of grump a bit hard to get on board with. However as I got into the story and learned more about her work, guilt and terrible family she grew on me and it explained a lot. I liked Colton too and seeing that there was more than surface level sunshine to him.
I also loved the book within a book and how we got to revisit all of our favourite characters- I especially loved the men attending Mrs Porth’s classes together (and wrapping presents together) and also getting to see ToeBeans again too.
This was my first Christmas book of 2022 and I think it was a great way to start!
Thanks to Headline Eternal for my gifted copy.
This is the fifth book in the Bromance Book Club series and the fact it’s a Christmas book made it all the better! This book can easily be read as a standalone too but there’s just lots of names and some little spoilers for previous books. Totally adored this sunshine meets grumpy trope, the perfect cosy read for Christmas.
Attending the wedding of one of his Bormance Book Clubb best friends, Country singer Colton Wheeler did not expect to hook up with anyone, not least the groom's ex-girlfriend Gretchen. Waking up the morning after he is surprised to find her leaving, declaring that this shouldn't have happened and made him promise not to tell anyone. A year later he has just found out that his latest songs have not been received well by his label. Leaving him a month to work with a songwriter to save his contract. Opting to contemplate his future in a small bar when Gretchen walks in.
Civil rights and immigration lawyer Gretchen Winthrop is reliant on donors to keep her non-profit form able to help her clients. For the past year, she has managed to avoid Colton following the wedding, despite them having mutual friends. Summoned to her family estate, her brother promises her a place on the Winthrop charitable foundation. Although he also wants her to sign Colton up as the new ambassador for the family Whiskey brand, To say that she has a difficult relationship with her family is an understatement but she wants to work on the foundation board.
Swallowing her pride she meets with Colton who agrees to hear more about the proposal as long as she goes out on a date with him. Colton can't understand Gretchen, why she walked away, why she hates Christmas and the walls she places around her heart. With the help of the Bromance Book Club, he is determined to open her eyes to life, Christmas and the possibility of love with him. Can Mr Sunshine show the Grumpy One that they can embrace the lighter side of things?
It’s my turn now on the blog tour! Thank you so much to @headlineeternal for a copy of this book! This absolutely made my YEAR!
I am such a big fan of this series! I love the idea of the male book club and I love the added addition of the story the characters are reading in each book and the chat surrounding it!
I have been waiting for Colton and Gretchen’s story so (not) patiently! Colton is the sexy country singer and Gretchen is the no nonsense lawyer in this missed chances and grumpy sunshine romance!
If you haven’t already grab your self a copy of the first book, The Bromance Book club and get reading!!
This was great! It had all the elements of a great Christmas romance. One of my favourites out of this series for sure!
I loved the chemistry between Colton and Gretchen, I enjoyed the family aspect and the friendships (although did not play as big of a part in this book as in others).
I would have enjoyed this more if the extracts of the story book were excluded because the book club played such a small part in this story. All it did was take me out of the story rather than add to the overall significance of the story.
My heart has been stolen! I need more!! This is one series I really don’t want to end.
Anyone that knows me, knows that I am a huge fan of this series and I got so excited when this landed in the doorstep. I knew I would instantly be delving deep into the pages.
Adams hasn’t disappointed, this book has been worthy of the wait. Adams just keeps delivering with these books. Our favourite men are back and delving deep into pages of more romance novels to improve their own relationships.
Colton is a dreamy and completely swoon worthy country music star. Only, we see him rejected in the very beginning of this one. However, fate has funny ways of bringing people together .
When Colton and Gretchen cross paths, we really get into the plot of this one. They are a great pair- I have laughed out loud on so many occasions reading this book. However, they do have their struggles and drama ahead as this unfolds. It’s unbelievable to think Gretchen is related to her awful, obnoxious family. As a reader, we see her fit perfectly into life with Colton.. but will she allow herself happiness?
I have devoured this book in just one sitting, I have loved everything about it. It’s brilliant to revisit characters that we have loved from previous books and this is just as magical and entertaining as the previous books.
I adore this series. I already need to get petitioning for more in the series. This is magical and completely charming. I love everything about this book. This is truly worthy of all the stars.
If you're looking for:
Romance
Drama
Raw emotions
Steam
(And some Christmas cheer)
This is the one for you.
Adams has nailed it, yet again.
This time we are following beloved Colton and Gretchen through a "grumpy-one/sunshine-one" trope.
Adams spins her bromance concept on its head a little here, where we see a female lead with commitment/ relationship fears. This is refreshing and adds a bit more realism.
Colton is as charming as the other Bromance boys and had me smiling, swooning and...well, I'll let your imagination fill in the rest.
Alongside our fabulous romance plot, set at Christmas (my fave btw) Adams sensitively explores toxic home relationships, touching upon gaslighting and emotional abuse. She shows us that money isn't what makes happiness. It's surrounding yourself with good people, being open to kindness and treating others with love and respect. So many people wander through live feeling undervalued, belittled and are left with low selfworth. To cover this topic is brave and valuable.
Adams' Christmas tale is one not just of romantic Love but, importantly, self love. I absolutely adored it.
(And for our Bromance Fans, yes the other boys are there. And yes, Vlad is as adorable as ever)
I ADORE the Bromance Bookclub books. Neither series-reading nor romance are my usual cup o’ tea but in this case I’m more than happy to make an exception.
The fifth instalment, this one focussing on heartthrob Colton Wheeler, comes with all the usual humour, wit, entanglements and, of course, grand gesture. I could not adore the members of the Bromance Bookclub anymore and my only beef with this one was that I wanted more of them — and their wives, who’ve become a steady presence.
Luckily for us, the author has confirmed that another book is in the works and already I. Can. Not. Wait.
I've really enjoyed every instalment in The Bromance Book Club series, and A Very Merry Bromance was no exception! I loved seeing Colton finally meet his match in Gretchen and how in love with her he was, even from day 1. As always, I love all the romance novel references in this, as well as seeing all the other Bromance Book Club members again! If you like second-chance romances and/or grumpy x sunshine dynamics, pick this one up!
Confession: I'm usually not a huge reader of Christmas romances, and I don't specifically have a TBR for the festive season. That said, when I spotted the latest addition to the Bromance Book Club series by Lyssa Kay Adams, I jumped at the chance to read it because it's one of my favourite romance series.
A Very Merry Bromance is the fifth book in this series and tells the story of Colton, a famous country singer, and Gretchen, a immigration lawyer, who are getting a second chance at romance one year on from a one night stand. It's a grumpy/sunshine romance with a seasonal setting, with the usual book within a book and grand gesture that I've come to expect from a Bromance novel. While the novel is overall light-hearted and provides plenty of laughs (Vlad in a Santa suit, as well as the banter between the two main characters), Adams doesn't shy away from including more serious issues. I'd recommend checking trigger warnings as Gretchen's back story gets pretty heavy, even though this is dealt with in a sensitive manner.
Thanks to Headline Eternal and NetGalley for the eARC.
I'm so glad to be back in the world of the Bromance Boys. 5 books in and they still make me laugh and smile.
It took me a bit to warm to this story. Gretchen was quite a different character to what I've seen before in this series and i didn't quite know what to make of her but as the story develops I began to love her and my heart broke for her. She's had a rough ride which explains why she is the way she is. Her and Colton couldn't be more different yet in some ways they are very similar. I loved learning more about Colton and his career (I love a book about music)
I enjoyed the banter between Colton and Gretchen. They both gave as good as they got. Not only did we get some real heart in your throat moments we get some soft tender bits sprinkles with a bit of sauce and a scoop of drama it was a fab combination. I really hope we are going to get more from this series I'm not ready to leave it yet. Another great addition to the Bromance series.
As a lover of the fabulous Bromance Book Club Series the fact that the latest book, A Very Merry Bromance, has a Christmas theme means two wins in one for me! And it was another delightful read, one of those books that just leaves you with a huge smile on your face - something I think lots of us need right now. You don’t need to have read the others for this to be enjoyable but I really think you should!
Adams has put a fun twist on the genre by basing them around a group of men who form a book club and read romance novels in order to understand women better. Each book focuses on one of the men in the club, and this, the fifth in the series, stars Colton, a swoon-worthy country singer who is used to women flocking around him. He falls hard for Gretchen, a no-nonsense immigration lawyer after a one night stand but his feelings are not reciprocated - until a year later Gretchen finds herself reluctantly reaching out to Colton for his help thanks to her very complicated family, and he takes full advantage to soften her Christmas-hating heart.
There is something incredibly endearing about the Bromance Book Club and its members - it is always such a pleasure to revisit them all. I love the dynamics of the group - and with the just right touch of Christmas, including the fact they were reading a Christmas book (not forgetting Vlad in a Santa suit), it was just such a delight. It is a series that in one way doesn’t take itself too seriously with a fun take on more classic tropes, whilst at the same time doesn’t shy away from some complex issues - but ultimately this book is the perfect warm hug for the festive season that I guarantee will make you smile, make you laugh and you won’t want to put down.
This is the story of Colton, a famous county singer who wears his heart on his sleeve and Gretchen, a workaholic who refuses to let anyone in. This grump to sunshine narrative is done brilliantly and the banter between the characters (as is always the case with this authors books) is just perfection!
I would recommend checking the triggers in this one as Gretchen’s back story gets quite deep, it’s handled well and boy did I hate her family but the end but it’s definitely worth checking before going in.
This is the 5th book in the Bromance series, it can absolutely be read as a stand alone but trust me when I say you will want to read the whole series.
I’m so glad I read this one, it left me with a massive smile, the urge to wear flannel, county music on repeat in my head and excitement for the festive season.
Thank you @headlineeternal for my review copy and spot on the tour.
This book was amazing! The characters were so funny and their romance was just so cute! The last 15% of the book had me in my FEELS! I loved this book, will now be getting the rest of the series asap
This is one of my favourite series and A Very Merry Bromance (AVMB) was an excellent addition. Thank you Headline Eternal for sending me a copy!
AVMB is a grumpy/sunshine Christmas-time romance between country music superstar Colton and immigration lawyer Gretchen. The pair had a one night stand that Gretchen ran away from and now they’re back in each others’ lives thanks to Gretchen’s awful brother.
The bros are all reading a grumpy/sunshine winter romance for their book club but this time their partners know about the book and Colton even gives Gretchen a copy to read. I would have enjoyed one more scene from the book club book later on but that’s just a small thing.
Colton and Gretchen’s families couldn’t be more different and when we meet them it makes so much sense why Colton can afford to be the ‘sunshine one’ who loves Christmas and why Gretchen is the ‘grumpy one’ who doesn’t.
This book touches on a lot of tough topics from situations related to Gretchen’s job, past money troubles for Colton’s family before his fame, and the toxic behaviour and gaslighting from Gretchen’s family. All of that may sound too heavy for a holiday romance but it was balanced out perfectly by the beautiful love story and all of the bro’s shenanigans.
Fans of the series will be delighted to know the bros are all back! They join a different kind of exercise class together and hold a Christmas party for friends and family with Vlad dressed as Santa. I repeat Vlad as Santa! 😂 Even Cheeseman made an appearance.
Read For:
• Grumpy/sunshine holiday romance ❤️🎄
• Slow burn 🔥
• Fun Christmas activities 🎄
• Emotional healing 😭
• A grand gesture
• Book within a book 📖
• Found family goodness 🥰
Rating: 5/5🌟
Steam Level: 3/5🔥
I was so excited to receive an ARC of one of my most anticipated reads!
This series is one of my absolute favourites, and I was probably most excited to hear Colton's story. With that being said, I do think this book could also be read as a standalone.
I adored that this book was set at Christmas time, and all the Christmas elements made it so much better.
Gretchen and Colton are the grumpy/sunshine pairing of my dreams. The romance, the steaminess, the love between them. It was everything I wanted and more.
Lyssa, you've done it again! Perfection.
