I really didn’t enjoy this book at all. I found the dialogue very silly and the swearing tedious. I struggled through this book and was relieved to reach the end. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

I really enjoyed my time with Madeline and Lorcan. Their interactions were fun and quite spirited at times which made for entertaining reading. I thought that Maxine Morrey did a wonderful job of creating not only this pairing but the range of interesting minor characters too.
There was something about Maddie that made her instantly likeable. She was definitely fully involved in her work but there was a reason for that. I just had to keep on reading to see how everything would turn out for her. Lorcan was a dream hero, he challenged Maddie (in a good way) and I loved to see the sparks fly whenever they were together.
The pacing of the story was good and I especially loved the setting of Ireland. It brought a lovely charm to the story. If I could have jumped into the story, I would have. Just Say Yes had the most sweet and loveable characters. It was also a story that charmed me from first page to last!

There is a real feeling of joy in this story with the chemistry between the two central characters off the scale. Both Maddie and Lorcan have complicated back stories which shed light on their attitudes and reactions. Maddie regiments her life according to a strict schedule. It gives her a sense of security and keeps her calm. Lorcan says that marriage is not for him and shuns the idea of commitment. However, when you see him in his home village with his close family and friends, you realise that he has a gentle and caring side.
I enjoyed the repartee between Maddie and Lorcan. Their conversations fizz along and show you the connection between the two. With a lively cast of characters including the adorable Bod, the dog, the story comes alive. It is a fun and entertaining read, set in the English countryside and the majestic Irish coast. Maddie is a survivor, struggling to keep her business afloat after the pandemic. You can’t help but root for her.
In short: a warm, witty look at love
Thanks to the publisher for a copy of the book

What a sweet book! Thank you Boldwood Books, Netgalley and Maxine for letting me read it!
Maddie is a wedding planner. And such a sweetheart. Who lives by the plan.
Lorcan... honestly sometimes I just got this Mr Darcy vibe from him. I can't explain it!
We get some backstory that DEFINITELY explains these two.
Closed door romance, for those who are looking for it! <3

This was a lovely contemporary romance, the chemistry between Maddie and Lorcan just jumps of the page. This is my first Maxine Morrey, but it definately will not be by last. Her writing style and character development drew me into this story instantly. I was desperate for Lorcan to see what was so obvious to everyone but him, and I am crossing my fingers for a sequel for more Maddie and Lorcan adventures.

My Thoughts: I loved that this was set in Ireland and focused on the aspect of wedding planning. I have read other books from this author and loved them, this one was no exception. Morrey just has this writing style about her that makes you comfortable reading, almost like a chat between friends and does so well with the characters and setting the tone, that you feel like you are there in Ireland, going along this journey. Morrey really does the miscommunication trope well, and while sometimes I am yelling at the characters with the miscommunication, it did not happen here, it was seamless. Madeline is a strong, focused, and determined character, who thrives on structured routine. Coming out of the pandemic, she is struggling, barely getting by, and putting everything into her new business. Lorcan was described expertly well, your tall, handsome hero that is also caring, laid back, and compassionate. This was really just a fun, lighthearted romance that I enjoyed. The characters were well developed with depth, witty banter, great chemistry, and creatively built up. The author’s writing style is one of my favorites, flowed well, funny, swoon-worthy, and kept me engaged from cover to cover. The plot was built well and the story had a sweet HEA. This book is already out, as well as the audiobook, I would highly recommend picking up today!

I enjoyed the story and it was a fairly fast read but I did struggle to connect with the characters like I usually do. It didn’t spoil the book for me but it just didn’t have the connection

I really enjoy Maxine's stories. Her books are easy to read, with good plots and characters with more depth and more serious topics are dealt with than in most RomCom stories on the market. The cover would easily make you believe it is a super light read, but there were some really sad and moving moments in this story that had me welling up.
I loved the setting in Ireland and especialy the warmth of the big Irish family Maddie meets when she goes there to plan a big wedding. The castle manager was also a really special character. I would love it if he got to have his own story one day!
I felt the story, when moving towards the end, went a little too fast, but overall it was still a really good book.

Peyton and Patrick are getting married and they have hired Maddie as their wedding planner, and have also asked for the help of their best man Lorcan.
But when Lorcan and Maddie have to work so close together, it may be time for her to think of a wedding of her own.
This novel gave me warm feelings inside from page one. I love how we meet the character of Lorcan right from the start and see the chemistry between him and Maddie straight away. I couldn't help but chuckle at Maddie's neighbour and honestly wished to have these characters surround me.
Morrey writes an easy uplifting, happy novel that I couldn’t get enough of and which had me smiling at every page.

I'm always excited when I find out Maxine Morrey is releasing a new novel - she hasn't written anything that I haven't loved yet! I am pleased to confirm that I was not disappointed with Just Say Yes!
Madeline is a wedding planner, with a business that has really suffered thanks to the recent global pandemic. Money is tight, so she really needs her business to start taking off again if she doesn't want to find herself swimming in her cottage every time it rains! Maddie is ecstatic when she finds herself planning a wedding for American heiress Peyton to her beloved Irish fiancé Patrick. When she finds out that the best man Lorcan is on hand to help, she's less than impressed. She needs this wedding to be a huge success, and the last thing she needs is the distraction of a tall, dark and handsome irishman.
With the wedding set to take place in Ireland, Maddie finds herself in the small village of Ballelee with Lorcan. After spending so much time alone, Maddie finds herself drawn into the warmth of a tight knit village - maybe she really does need more in her life than just her work.
This is such a great novel - Maddie is a great character. She is a strong, ambitious woman despite the trauma that she hides. She has built up her own business, and she has created the life that she lives. All of this has made her a little isolated though, most definitely not helped by the pandemic.
Lorcan is the tall, dark and handsome - what's not to like? To make him even better, he is kind, caring and all about his family and friends. He's the man I am more than happy dreaming about, and he makes the perfect leading man!
I am more than happy to recommend this novel - it's a great light hearted romance with some wonderful characters. I loved the Irish setting too, it really made me want to visit Ireland as soon as possible! So if this sounds like your kind of book, then I recommend that you immediately grab yourself a copy and curl up with a lovely chilled glass of wine! Once you've finished Just Say Yes, I highly recommend that you go and visit Maxine's back catalogue - check out my blog for my many reviews of her wonderful novels!

Maddie is a wedding planner who's having a hard time following covid lockdown and restrictions. Planning American socialite Peyton's marriage could be her chance to overturn her luck. But it comes with having to deal with the groom's best friend Lorcan and travelling to Ireland with him.
A cute, feel good story that, though predictable, has (as it is usual in Morrey's books) depths that are often unusual in romantic stories.

We follow Maddie from the English countryside to Ireland in her task as wedding planner to an American socialite, Peyton, and her Irish native groom, Patrick. Much to Maddie's suprise the tall dark and handsome best man, Lorcan, has been selected to acompany her and assist with the planning.

• The way Morrey portrayed Ireland as a magical and cozy place with a laid-back small community.
• I'm not typically interested in the miscommunication trope but it was done really well. It was more of a challenge for Maddie and Lorcan to open up to each other. Clearly, they were both dealing with underlying past trauma.
• The snarky but playful relationship between Maddie and Lorcan was cute.
• Lorcan has a soft spot in his heart for his Mom and we all know that makes for an amazing partner in life.
• The addition of Bod the dog was a delightful treat.

• The ending was slightly rushed and I feel as though I need more of Maddie and Lorcan.

What started out as a somewhat slow book for me, ended up being a cute story.
It focuses on Maddie and Lorcan. Maddie is a wedding planner, falling on hard times but confident in herself. Lorcan is the chance meeting best friend of her most recent client. It’s a whirlwind as she focuses on getting the wedding of the Century to go without a hitch.
The chemistry between them leaps off the page, and while it’s somewhat predictable, the story has a level of depth not often found in cute romances.

Maddie is a wedding planner with a leaky roof in a picturesque cottage. Along comes the Irish charmer of Lorcan who is helping plan his best friend's wedding.
A planning trip to Ireland. Always the wedding planner. Will she leave Ireland with more than a pay cheque?
Love getting to know the characters and imagining that I was in Ireland.
Light hearted and easy read.

Peyton and Patrick entrust their wedding arrangements to their planner Maddie and the best man Lorcan. He is cynical about marriage in general and this makes for some interesting dialogue, especially as they become romantically entangled together. A sweet feel good story.

I am a huge fan of Maxine Morray’s writing – having already read and loved You Only Live Once and Things Are Looking Up I knew I was going to love Just Say Yes as much – and I wasn’t wrong! The story is centered around the main character Maddie. As a wedding planner, Maddie is always super organised and on the ball with things. So when she is asked at the very last minute to help Peyton and Patrick with their wedding plans, she is not one bit flustered. That is, until Peyton and Patrick ask their best man, Lorcan, to help Maddie with the plans and preparations.
As they make the trip to Ireland to begin the wedding preparations, Maddie discovers that Lorcan is completely the opposite of her – as organised as she is, Lorcan is completely spontaneous and chaotic. Can they really work together to make Peyton and Patrick’s wedding the best ever, or will their personality clashes cause even more problems?
Just Say Yes is such a beautiful and heart-warming read, packed full of great characters, chemistry, fun, and lots of laughs – a Christmas must-read from me.

Just Say Yes is a fun, lighthearted rom-com that you will want to read again and again.
Maxine has become one of my favourite rom-com writers. When I think I couldn’t like her writing more, she comes out with a new book that completely charms the romantic socks right off my feet. I literally devoured, Just Say Yes in one sitting. Did I have a book hangover afterwards? Yes, I did. Was it worth it? Hell, yes, it was. For those who haven’t read one of Maxine’s books before, I always think of her books as charming romances without all that “cheesiness.” Her stories are fun and romantic, with delightful, quirky characters who often have surprising depth.
Now, let’s talk about Just Say Yes and why I found it so darn amazing. First, this book’s setting is split between a quaint English cottage community and Ballalee, a rural village in Ireland (with a castle in it, of course). Maxine’s lush and vivid descriptions of both places made me feel like I was there. I loved going to Ireland (which was a first for me) and exploring its beautiful countryside with Lorcan and Madeline. Both settings have that small community feel to them, where everyone knows everyone else’s business, which can sometimes be a bad thing. But that sense of community and coming together was woven throughout the story and added to its charm.
It was really easy to get engrossed in this story. It felt like the world around me had just disappeared, and all I cared about was reading this love story between Madeline and Lorcan. I always enjoy Maxine’s books because they have a fun and interesting plot, and she throws in enough drama to keep me entertained. The dialogue in this book is smart and witty. There are plenty of easy, breezy, fun moments between the characters that will leave you smiling. And between those lighter moments are conversations that touch upon more challenging topics, such as losing a loved one and dealing with grief.
Madeline is one of my favourite romance heroines that Maxine has created. I loved her need to organize and colour code everything, something I wish I could do in my life. It was a charming characteristic and something Lorcan constantly teased her about. Madeline is used to being self-reliant and never having anyone take care of her. The reasons for this are explained in the book, but I’m not going to spoil them for you. Madeline is not used to anyone trying to get past those walls she built around her heart. It was sweet and heartwarming watching her interact with the villagers of Ballalee. Then there is Lorcan, who gave me those warm, fluttery feelings in my stomach. Maxine knows how to create those book boyfriends that leave you feeling oh so swoony. Lorcan is sweet, charming, funny, and caring. Underneath those rugged Irish good looks is someone dealing with his emotional baggage and trying to figure out how to move past it.
As you can imagine, I LOVED Madeline and Lorcan as a couple. They have this wonderful opposites attract, slow burn feel to their relationship. There are plenty of witty and teasing moments between these two that are often fueled because their personalities are so different. The slow burn part of their relationship stems from the fact that Madeline doesn’t have relationships with work clients, which means that for most of this book, you get this glorious build-up of their relationship. There are plenty of swoony moments that tease that romantic relationship line without crossing it. I devoured every moment of it and couldn’t get enough.
If you are looking for a book that will leave you feeling happy and very satisfied, then you need to pick up Just Say Yes.

Just Say Yes by Maxine Moorey was a wonderful story and concept. As a former wedding planner, I related to this story from the job angle. Maddie is a wedding planner and is planning the wedding of Patrick and Peyton. The best man Lorcan is tasked with helping Maddie and from there we slowly see a romance develop between Maddie and Lorcan. Overall a fun read and would recommend!

I gobbled up every morsel of this beautiful lighthearted humourous romance story. I instantly fell in love with the characters and the plot of the story. I was chuffed that there was a cute little dog in the story called Bod because as a dog lover I adore books with dogs in the storyline and Bod is a gorgeous addition to the story.
Maddie is a wedding planner and is planning the wedding of Patrick and Peyton. The best man Lorcan is tasked with helping Maddie and from there we slowly see a romance develop between Maddie and Lorcan. But will it last? Maddie has a painful history and I really felt for her.
I thoroughly delighted in this book and was entertained from the beginning to the end. A charming novel with lots of heart.

3.5 stars
Wedding planner Madeleine lives is delighted when she takes on the wedding of Californian heiress Peyton. She’s less delighted to find out that she's going to have help – from the admittedly gorgeous, but equally maddening, tall, dark, and handsome best man Lorcan. The wedding is set to take place in a castle in rural Ireland, and so, in no time, Maddie and Lorcan are on their way to Ballalee.
This book was such an unexpected surprise! I thought this was going to be more of a Women's fiction but it had romance as the central focus. Maddie and Lorcan were the cutest duo. I loved their initial friendship and quirky chemistry. The wedding planning shenanigans were amazing and hilarious.
Set in the gorgeous backdrop of Ireland, this managed to capture the beauty of the place perfectly. Definitely was a wholesome, slow-burn romance that I'd recommend.
