‘Just Say Yes’ is a light-hearted carefree rom-com that is easy to follow with the classic will they, won’t they concept weaved into its entirety. The locations within the story are beautiful, and the connection between the main characters is evident very early on.

Personally, for me, this was a mediocre read. I have found that this author’s work can be a little hit-and-miss for me, and unfortunately, this just didn’t hit the mark for me. There isn’t anything genuinely awful about it, but it is very similar to other books in this genre. Nothing makes it stand out from others, making it average. However, please do not let this review stop you from reading this new release.

This book was lighthearted and so much fun.

Maddie is a wedding planner and has come in to rescue the wedding of Peyton and Patrick, which should help set her business back on track. The downside is that the couple have instructed best man Lorcan to help her. Maddie is the ultimate organiser, where Lorcan is much more spontaneous, so a trip to Ireland to put things in place for the wedding sees the pair clashing, but can Lorcan and her Ireland experience start to chip away at the walls Maddie has put up.

I really enjoyed the characters of Maddie and Lorcan. Both of them are hiding something and you can see how each of their personalities portray how they are protecting themselves from it. Maddie the planner in every aspect of her life whilst Lorcan is much more easy going. And who can resist Lorcan, the Irish charmer.

The village of Ballalee, the hometown of groom Patrick and Lorcan, and the wedding venue of the castle sound delightful, as do the people we meet involved on Maddie and Lorcan’s trip. I want to go and visit and meet all these wonderful people!

This book is the first of Maxine’s that I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The spark between Maddie and Lorcan can be felt from their first meeting, and the dynamic between them brings many laughs.

Great escapism!

This book was adorable. I loved Lorcan, and I thought the two MCs had great chemistry. The concept sucked me in right away, but the writing kept me engaged until the last page. It was fluffy and sweet, the perfect weekend novel. I had no trouble devouring this book, and I am definitely going to be looking for more from this author!

I absolutely loved this book from start to finish, found it difficult to put down. Maddie is a wedding planner who due to the pandemic over the previous years has found herself with not a lot of weddings to plan. So when a gorgeous dark haired Irish man knocks on her door she immediately thinks he’s her groom, arriving for his appointment. But no this is the best man and the grooms best bud and they seem to wind each other up at all times. With the bride and groom based in America for a lot of the time, he wants his best man to assist Maddie with all the preparations. The next few months are eventful for them both and little bod. I loved it

This gorgeous story oozed romance and I enjoyed every morsel. Maddie is a wonderful character and immediately, I was drawn to her and interested to learn her story. The story arc, where we learn more about her history, is hard to absorb, and I found myself feeling her pain. But the way that her story is told is gentle, only fully revealing itself when you have already fallen for her.
Lorcan is a gorgeous leading man. The kind of guy most women would adore. He loves his family and friends and is determined to ensure that everyone he loves knows that they are important to him. He takes his responsibilities as best man to another level, ensuring that Maddie never has a chance to plan anything without his input. Maddie never guesses that he has an ulterior motive for being so involved; it seems reasonable when the previous wedding planner left the arrangements in ruins.
The characters are so wonderfully developed that I could imagine them as I followed the story as it switched between Ireland and England. I must admit, my Google search history is full of Irish names so that I could learn their pronunciations. I’m delighted to say that my guesses were mostly right except for Fiadh, which had me stumped.
This is a lovely story and one that I can highly recommend. I loved reading about Ballalee and its residents. I would love to visit and just know that I’d be among friends.

Yet another fabulous book by Maxine. All of her books have been comfortable, easy reading and this one is no exception.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, but I thought the constant sparring between Lorcan and Maddie a bit boring at times. And then the ending was really rushed. Lorcan was so kind and caring, a nice character. You can understand his stance on marriage. I would have liked the gap explained at the end. From Christmas to Spring . . . what was Lorcan doing? I loved Bod. I enjoyed the settings, I also enjoyed the wedding planning aspect. All in all, a good read. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Maddie is a wedding planner and has just found out that the bride to be and her husband to be are going to be in America until just before the wedding so she will be sorting the wedding out with the help of the best man Lorcan.
The wedding will be in Ireland so they will both be going for a week to get things in place
Maddie likes to have every minute of her day planned,Lorcan is the opposite, can they make it work ?
A really enjoyable read

I mean I knew where the storyline was going from the beginning. But did I mind that? No not at all and the reason was because the book was written well, the setting was great and I enjoyed meeting all the characters and I was caught up in all the drama.

The story
Maddie is a wedding planner whose try to rebuild her business after the pandemic. When she is asked to arrange a wedding for an American heiress and her Irish husband to be, Maddie is asked to work with the best man Lorcan to make the arrangements. The two spends loads of time together and he’s involved with all the details.

My thoughts
This story takes the reader from a wet English village (leaky roofs) to charming green, rural Ireland. There is plenty of wedding stress but also a whole lot of interaction between Maddie and Lorcan. The two spend so much time getting to know each other and their respective schedules, but the attraction is kept under wraps until the very end. The banter is great and I loved how kind and caring Lorcan is with Maddie and his family.

My rating 3.5/5 - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 💫

Thank you Netgally and publisher for a chance to read and review Just Say Yes.

First and foremost I adore first person, so I was ecstatic to know our main character at a more intimate level. I wouldn't call this story a enemies-to- lovers like it seems to want to be but more a softer version strangers-with-different-opinions is more like it. Great witty banter between our characters, furry sidekicks to steal the show, and a trip to Ireland. I enjoyed the plot aspect although some times the story seemed to repeat itself or had some unnecessary information. Miscommunication played villian once again, but we get a Happy ever after which rounded out this story. I enjoyed this light romantic read with a fresh take on scenery and inclusion of recent world news.

I have read a couple of books by this author and they have the ability to mix humour with relatable and sensitive issues

The book is written form the main characters point of view Madeline the wedding planner and also looks at how events is the past can shape the future and promote certain behaviours. I loved how the relationship between Madeline and lorchan developed as the story unfolded.

This book made me laugh in places and cry in others. I would love a sequel to this to see how the characters move forward in their lives.

“His hands cupped my face as his lips tentatively brushed mine, sending thrills and sparks of electricity racing through my body. He pulled away, his gaze meeting mine, almost as if waiting for permission, which I willingly gave.”

I adored this book. Maddie and Lorcan were so cute. I loved how from the start he did things he wasn’t obligated to for her. I loved their relationship from the beginning. I loved how they slowly evolved from not really like each other to appreciate each other. I also really loved Bod, the third main character, he didn’t do anything in particular but I just loved him.

This was a simple, fun, easy and quick read. The perfect type of book for your holiday, beach, pool kind of read. This is a first for me by the author and one I enjoyed and would read more of their work. The book cover is eye-catching and appealing and would spark my interest if in a bookshop. Thank you very much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC. I'm being completely honest with my review.

This is the first book I have read by Maxine Morrey, but I won't be my last.
I found. The book to be sweet and the characters were well written in fun.

Just Say Yes by Maxine Morrey is the most charming contemporary novel that will make you smile and warm your heart.
The book follows a wedding planner to Ireland as she teams up with a best man to plan a wedding. Their verbal exchanges are a delight to witness. They are playful and bouncy.
As the novel is written in the first person from the point of view of Maddie, the wedding planner, we become intimately acquainted with her.
I loved the inclusion of a small dog called Bod. He came to life with Maxine Morrey’s words and was very much a character in his own right.
We see that the past has got a hold of a character threatening to derail present happiness. Events in the past only have as much power as we give them – so leave them in the past and step into the future.
There is a huge Irish welcome for the reader. Lives open up and bond over food. There are some big personalities who open their hearts, lives and homes to others.
I absolutely loved Just Say Yes. It was a really fun, heartwarming read. I always enjoy Maxine Morrey’s books.
I received a free copy from Rachel’s Random Resources for a blog tour. A favourable review was not required. All opinions are my own.

This is a very sweet story about Maddie, a lovely wedding planner, and Lorcan, the dark, handsome and Irish best man.
Maddie is planning the wedding of Patrick and Peyton - but this is a story that very much revolves around Maddie and Lorcan as they grow closer and trust each other with past secrets.
I loved the descriptions of Ireland and desperately want to go and stay in Brighid’s pub and sample Irish breakfast!
I thought the pronunciation guide at the start of the book was a lovely touch too!
