A heartwarming and beautifully written story that swept me away. The picturesque coastal setting, combined with relatable and endearing characters, created a wonderfully cosy and uplifting atmosphere. The plot was engaging, with just the right balance of mystery and romance, leaving me thoroughly charmed from start to finish.

I read Winter at Cliff’s End Cottage last year, and loved it so much that I have since read many of Sheila Norton’s back catalogue. And so I jumped on the chance to review The Secret of Angel Cove.

What a lovely story. I loved meeting Joy and Sara, and all the other more minor characters. I loved reading about the friendship that the two of them strike up, when they’re both at a time of big change in their lives. I really enjoy reading stories about friendship between people of different ages, because we don’t just make friends with people our own age in real life.

I loved the setting too. The Smugglers’ Cottages at Angel Cove sound like such a beautiful place to live.

I enjoyed the flashbacks to Philip and Chrissie’s story too, and all the conversations at the historical society.

I don’t know what else to say really, apart from how happy reading this book made me feel. I really loved reading about characters of lots of different ages.

Overall, this was a lovely, relaxing read, chiefly about friendship, but also with some romance thrown in.

This was the first time reading a book by Shelia Norton, thanks to Little, Brown Book Group and Netgallery for giving me an early access to her Christmas 2022 book.

The book starts the day after Shelia has retired from being a coummunity head nurse. Her husband informs of that the house next door, of their only three houses Angel Cove, is finally being moved into. It then she meets Sara and her gorgeous little boy, Charlie. Together they form a friendship that sets Shelia off to discover the Secret of Angel Cove.

This is a gorgeous book of friendship, discovery and maybe along the way creating something that can last for generations to come. If you want a story to warm your heart this Christmas then this is the story for you, I will be certainly looking out for more Shelia's book and hopefully a return to Angel Cove.

Once again thank you to the publishers and netgallery for allowing me early access.

This was a lovely feel good story.

Two women, one who is retired and finding it hard and the other whose relationship has ended.

It was beautifully written, with some twists and turns as well as interweaving the lives of the village historical society.

I recommend this book.

A very enjoyable book. Joy has just retired and finds herself at a loose end. She joins the local historical society and a new neighbour moves in next door. Suddenly she has many new friends and life is full filling. This is a gentle feel good story.

Wow!! Devoured this book in one sitting. A real cosy feel good story which you would expect from Shelia Norton.
Centered around one woman’s battle with retirement and another’s with a marriage break down. Fantastically written with a few curveballs thrown in intertwining the lives of the village historical society.
Grab a cuppa and emerge yourself in the new village
