My First Ocean Animals is a touch-and-feel book that features 10 animals found in the ocean. It's my favourite from the series just because ocean animals are so much more exotic and difficult to introduce to babies. I hope to experience the non-digital version of this once it's out.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the digital ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The pictures included have added shapes in their patterns and are very visually stimulating. The colors chosen look good together as well. A great option for littles.
The bright and wildly coloured ocean animals are very eye catching! Not the most realistic illustrations, but its pleasant to look at and I love the artistic flair to it.
The only things I was not a fan of is that a Sea Turtle is just labeled as "Turtle"" and a Sea Star is labeled as a "Starfish." I mean, this is an Ocean Animal book, so not sure why they label the drawing of a Sea Turtle as just turtle. And although the common name "Starfish" is not incorrect, most scientists, naturalists and aquarium educators have been working to replace it with "Sea Stars" since they're not "fish."
I previewed a digital version of this book, so I am unable to comment on the size or quality of the book and packaging.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance digital copy in exchange for an honest review.
Very great colorful eye catching illustrations will catch the eye of a baby. As well at teach the names of the sea creatures as they get older. I received a ebook copy. But the physical copy being cloth is perfect to add to your babies library.
Very bright, very colourful and very eye-catching - what isn't to like!
Great book for the earliest of readers - to get them interested in reading from the earliest if ages.
Yes, you too can get your pre-schooler interested in narwhals and seahorses and suchlike, and get them saying their names with minimal effort. Actually, you can't – which is why products like this are mentally stimulating playthings, tools to get the hands and eyes attuned to using the other mentally stimulating playthings we call books. Now I saw this digitally and cannot quite get a successful mental image of what the product is, and how it turns from a book to a block of things into a "bonus puzzle game", and so all I can report on is what is on the page. And these are fine – yes they have a lot of 70s-influenced colour clashes and design quirks, and the crab has a cutesy heart on its shell for little reason, but this is supposed to dazzle and intrigue and inspire, and it's not going to fail in that whatsoever.
Brightly-coloured, weird and wonderful sea creatures swim onto the pages of this new first book for babies which can be used with three other similar books.
I received an advanced copy of this thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the opinions expressed are my own. As my preview copy was an e.book I am unable to comment on the softness of the cloth but the content will make a great first book which can be linked to others in this series. This set will make a great gift for my grandson's first Christmas.
Another beautiful book in Margaux Carpentier's collection of 'My First...' books. The illustrations are brilliantly bold and offer high-contrast images that are really engaging for babies and young children. It contains simple one-word names for the adult, or an older children to read aloud. This would make a brilliant gift for a new baby.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for gifting me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
