The plot and story line are.quite good but the writing style was so jarring it spoiled the whole book for me. Repetition of words to the point of it almost made me laugh. It sure if this is a debut book but I won’t be looking for more from this author.

Stand in the Box
by Noël F. Caraccio

Thank you, NetGalley as well as Black Rose Writing for the advance copy to review an honest review.
Description
After the horrific car crash which killed their parents, twelve-year-old Kristin and nine-year-old Megan try to cope with a new world after their parents were suddenly ripped from their lives. Their parents named an uncle on each side of the family as the Co-Guardians.

The girls are caught up in a torrent of emotions as the conflicting lifestyles of the two uncles clash as to how Kristin and Megan should be raised. This conflict may never be resolved and leads to problems no one could have foreseen.
Well, I did indeed enjoy this one very much. All eyebrows were raised when the two Uncles of the deceased parent, one from each were chosen to raise their daughter. The uncles were360 degrees in how they related to everything. Reminded me of the odd couple. Jake was so uptight and everything had to be controlled, Tyler was laid back and lived in the now.
Nine-year-old Megan was a force to be reconned with. But, in the end, she did STAND IN THE BOX! I was smiling and felt what a team an Uncle and niece made.

Thank you NetGalley and Black Rose Writing for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The writing itself is not good- the flow, the word choice, the sentence structure, the wording. This aspect of the book felt very amature and really needed to be worked on. I think with more refinement and practice, this could have been a really great book. The story and concept were really awesome ideas.
