Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
Lindy is described as having had a 'terrible, awful year' which is overly dramatic - no deaths, just a boyfriend and best friend who've cheated on her. She's won the job of her dreams but isn't happy because her colleagues dislike her for taking the post an insider wanted. She goes home for the Christmas break, enter the boy who tormented her in school, and a magical Santa who seems to grant wishes. There is a good festive feel to this story but I thought the Christian emphasis didn't fit well with the Santa granting wishes, and the romance was so predictable that it didn't engage me. I think this is the least enjoyable book I've read by this author.

A bit late to the party but what a lovely Christmas book.
A bit of magic going on in a beautiful Christmas romance. When Lindy comes home to spend Christmas with her family her mum brings out her childhood letter to Santa. This prompts Lindy to do the same again this year after breaking up with her boyfriend who ran away with her best friend she needs a fresh start.
Will she make a new life as a result of her letter. In a magical Christmas setting I loved every page.
Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this book

I couldn’t put this book down. Such a feel good story/romance compared to doom and gloom of other Christmas based books

A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.

Lindy Carmichael isn't feeling particularly joyful as she returns to her childhood home for Christmas with her family. Having just had her heart broken, not even her favourite Christmas carols and cookies can put her in the festive spirit. That is, until her mother reveals a box of Lindy's childhood letters to Santa in the hope of restoring her faith.
Reminiscing about what she'd wished for as a child sparks the inspiration Linda needs to get her life back on track. With her mother's encouragement, she decides to write a new letter to Santa, filled with her hopes for the future - and little does she know, her wishes are about to unfold in the most unexpected of ways . . .
With a little Christmas magic - and a surprising connection with a handsome former classmate - will Lindy realise that there truly is no place like home for the holidays?
Fabulous and festive ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Over the years I have read and enjoyed many Debbie Macomber Christmas romances and Dear Santa certainly hit the spot again. It's a warm and cosy hug of a read that would be perfect for a Hallmark Christmas movie, as some of her previous stories have been, so I hope to see Dear Santa on the TV screen in the not too distant future.
When we first meet Lindy she's at an all-time low returning home for Christmas after the double betrayal of having her heart broken by her boyfriend and best friend. As a pick-me-up and encouragement to rediscover her love of all things Christmas, her mother gives her a box of long forgotten letters that she'd written to Santa as a child and encourages her to write one final letter with her wishes for the future. Lindy initially thinks this is is a stupid idea but decides to do it. I loved this aspect of the storyline, reading about the subjects of the old letters and seeing how some of the things wished for unfolded or impacted others.
Whilst home Lindy reconnects with some old friends and even meets an old foe who was the subject of one of her childhood letters. And as the days go by, we see Lindy rediscover her passion for life and contemplate whether to stick with the life she currently has or maybe contemplate something new to rejuvenate her creative juices.
Dear Santa is the perfect feel-good festive read but the messages at its heart ring true all year round.

Perfect reading for the holiday season; grab a hot chocolate, a blank drink snuggle down to this cute Christmas read.

This was a nice story that I enjoyed reading. I thought that it was fun that instead of writing a diary, she wrote to Santa. I did find it interesting to read and liked how it involved the community with various tasks. I like the man who she wrote to Santa about. I'm terrible at remembering names. I did enjoy the storyline and rated this book 3.5 stars rounded up. The characters were nice and interesting, and I finished this book in just over a day. I liked that this was a slow burning romance with a low spice level. I recommend this story if you like interesting, fun, family orientated stories.
Many thanks to the author and publishers for creating this nice and interesting story.

Yet another Christmas classic from Debbie Macomber. What if your wishes written in your letters to Santa came true? This is what seems to happen to Lindy and she bumps into a few old friends when she returns home for Christmas ending up with some tough life decisions to make along the way,
Christmas isn't Christmas without a Debbie Macomber book to read!

Loved this book - a great Christmas read - easy, happy endings, festive - made me go searching out all the other books I own by Debbie Macomber to read again!

Lindy is a web designer and lives in Seattle. She goes home for christmas to stay with her mom and dad for 2 weeks. Whilst there her mum shows her all her old letters from Santa and how all her wishes came true.
She reconnects with old friends and a romance appears before her.
I liked the story, i do feel it was rather rushed though and a little unbelievable, i wouldnt give up my entire life for a person i had known for 7 days for example. I dont have that much romance in me.

oh what a beautiful and magical christmas book!!! I LOVED it!!!! If you want to read a lovely book with a bit (or a lot) of christmas magic and if you still want to believe in miracles, this book is for you! And bonus point, there some beautiful (but not so straigh forward) romance going in on in this book! Very very good book that I recommend to anyone who loves Christmas and women's fiction! It was my first time to read a book by Debbie Macomber and it won't be the last!!!

Another fantastic festive read from Debbie, if your a fan of her previous work u wont be disappointed

This was a very sweet book which I read very quickly,
Lindy Carmichael returns home for the Christmas holidays after having a bit of a tough time of it. She is welcomed back into the family fold and encouraged by her mother to enjoy Christmas again. She was shown letters she wrote to Santa as a little girl with childish faith. Her mum encourages her to write a new one with her dreams now, namely a close friend and a new man in her world.
After Lindy writes the letter, she reconnects with a couple of people from her school days, and starts to live again. We discover the power of reconnection, and starting over again back home, even just for a couple of weeks.
I would recommend this to anyone who needs a hug.

Like a hot chocolate on a cold Christmas day. Sweet comforting and heart warming,
If you like a Christmas movie then is is the book for you.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. This was a gentle, festive read. I was engaged with the characters although felt that the plot was a bit thin, but it was still enjoyable.

This book. conjures up all the wonder and joy of Christmas that so many of us grow out of when we leave childhood behind. Lindy returns home for the festive season after the double betrayal of her boyfriend leaving her for her best friend. A box of forgotten letters inspires her to write one last letter to Father Christmas, with three heartfelt wishes for her future happiness. Full of optimism, cheer and old fashioned family values, this book is a joy to read at this time of year.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
Lindy works as a web designer for a company in Seattle, she’s just out through a proposal for a big job, but she’s not that mad about the company, as she was taken on instead of an employee who works in it and has friends there too, the people who work with her aren’t friendly either.
So, she’s coming home for two weeks to spend the Christmas holidays with her family. Her mother, is really happy to have Lindy home and shows her the letters she wrote to Santa when she was a child.
Her mother asks Lindy to write another letter to Santa, and as much as Lindy finds it an embarrassment, she still writes one. She asks for someone special, and a best friend(as her boyfriend fell for her best friend, which left her unhappy and feeling betrayed).
Soon after, Lindy bumps into an old friend, Peggy, as well as someone she recalls from grade school, named Billy.
So, with the magic of Christmas, she gets her happily ever after.
A feel-good holiday romance.
I recommend this book.
