Quite a lovely women's friendship despite their difference in age and before they know it, they are off on an adventure. A journey that takes them out of their comfort zone, but into the home of the mighty kind Walter. On his farm all things seem to come together, Elinor and Maude finally feeling like they are landing on their feet.

I'm glad to see this book is the first in a series, looking forward to what becomes of all the members of Walter's household and their friends. And then there is the intriguing Mr. Smith and the grand house nearby...

However, there were some things that were missed while editing. Apart from some typos, at location 1665 (44% into the book) the two women have been talking to Walter about his grandson, but after him leaving the room his nephew is mentioned twice instead...

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.
