This Groundhog-type story is definitely up my street. I was intrigued by the synopsis and I enjoyed delving into the merry-go round of the same day repeating itself time and time again. However, at times I found some of the repetitions tiring - perhaps this was the idea so the reader can get a glimpse into how this potential scenario would play out on someone. I am guessing this was exacerbated by the fact that I listened to the audiobook and some of the things that were repeated (i.e. same text messages or emails) could not be skimmed-read like they would have been in the printed version.

The ending was a little sad - but actually perfect.

Groundhog day meets sliding door but on loop for one day. A heart warming story where you are forced to relive the worst day ever every day on loop. This has important messages about embracing life and valuing friends and family in the small moments. The added romance element of the annual letter tugged at rhe heart strings.
I did enjoy this and although I'd did love the ending a bit part of me wanted it to be resolved completely. That said this will tug at your heart strings and is throughly enjoyable.
Thank you netgallery and publisher and author for this 4 star read.

I wasn't expecting to love this as much as I did. Cesca Major has gone straight onto my must read authors list. The novel follows Emma, a busy working mother who finds herself trapped in a seemingly endless loop of the same day. The novel is both heartbreaking and hopeful, as Emma grapples with the consequences of her past choices and seeks to find redemption. Major's characters are relatable and endearing, making it easy for readers to connect with their struggles and triumphs. While the repetitive structure might seem daunting, the novel's emotional depth and character development keep readers engaged. Maybe Next Time is a thought-provoking exploration of what truly matters in life.

The perfect high concept romcom - emotional, poignant, with a protagonist you can't help but root for.

I loved this book.. to be honest I wasn’t sure at first ad it did seem as though it was going to be repetitive but my heart actually sank as Emma woke up to the same day over and over. I loved the message- you can’t actually change the ending but you can change how you get there. Jas was brilliant and I just wanted Emma to get more support! I could imagine her tiredness at waking up to the same day over and over again. Lovely twist to the previous accident and absolutely heart warming letter from Dan

This was a great read but was initially a bit confusing in places. Glad I stuck with it as it was a good reminder of being aware of the important things in your life.

Thank you Netgalley

Well, I ended this book in the same way I started it, in floods of tears. I don't know if it's just me being an emotional person, but this genuinely had me heartbroken from the off.
We always think we have more time, we will get to that project tomorrow, there's another day till that's due. Who knows what's round the corner. We need to take time and really see what's going on around us.

I love being given the opportunity to update our school library which is a unique space for both senior students and staff to access high quality literature. This is definitely a must-buy. It kept me absolutely gripped from cover to cover and is exactly the kind of read that just flies off the shelves. It has exactly the right combination of credible characters and a compelling plot thatI just could not put down. This is a great read that I couldn't stop thinking about and it made for a hugely satisfying read. I'm definitely going to order a copy and think it will immediately become a popular addition to our fiction shelves. 10/10 would absolutely recommend.

A lovely book, one that will resonate with any harried, busy woman trying to keep the show on the road and faced with the impossible task of keeping everyone happy - as well as a reminder of how fleetingly short and precious life can be. Spending it wisely with those we love and learning the power of saying no to the noise that overtakes our days. I loved it and I'm delighted to see it was chosen as an @reesesbookclub pick for November - well done @cescamajorauthor! Thank you to @netgalley for the ARC.

Anyone who's watched Groundhog Day will recognise this story - you wake up, the day repeats, and whatever you do doesn't break that cycle. Maybe Next Time follows that cycle, but with less testosterone and more nuance than that film. The writing is excellent, the sad moments done exceptionally well, and though the plot isn't the most original and the outcome fairly predictable, this is a charming book that's well worth a read.

In its nature this book could’ve ended up repetitive and boring but although we see Emma reliving her day and battling to change outcomes and deal with the torment it is more about her journey and understanding of her place in life and how she wants to live it, what choices she can control.
It’s thought provoking and emotional, well written and at its heart a bit of a love story.

I am heartbroken because this trope can’t never have a full HEA, this one is all about the journey.

Believe me I understand why at the beginning you are going to dislike Emma. It’s easy to say why can’t she just prioritize the right people and do the right thing but we are human and it’s in our nature to make mistakes.

This journey it’s all about making the same mistakes because you know the ending won’t change and then realizing that even though the end cannot be changed, how you get to it is all on you.

I loved Dan’s last letter.

Wow. This was a beautiful story. One of my few 5 star reads of this year. If you love books by Jojo Moyes, you will love this book.

While i struggled to get into it at the beginning, this had me in tears eventually - which is a win as it takes a lot for me to have a good cry!

Cecsa Majors writing is brilliant and consistent. While some people have said this reminded them of Groundhog day (while the central plot may have been inspired), this stands on its own as original in it's own way and stuck with me even after finishing it. I think i have found my new favourite author.

Thank you Harper Collins for allowing me to receive an ARC

This book was well written.

Emma ends up repeating the same day over and over again with the same outcome Dan her husband dying. Emma changes things with the day but everything she does it happens again and again Dan dying.

I did enjoy the book but found it very repetitive I felt the ending was a bit different but you never really knew what happened was there a nice outcome or not, it might be for us to make our minds up that it could a really nice ending.
