What a wholesome book. I absolutely hated Rob. Before I pieced it together and realized that the challenges had no baring on the winner of the competition I thought the show was a brilliant idea. Something that would definitely happen in real life. But then when I realized it was all social media based I was mad for Sam and Max. They were being but through the ringer for absolutely no reason except for Rob's sadistic entertainment.
But the book was great besides the fact that it made me angry for the characters.

Such a fun read.
The reality tv storyline was perfect. Truly enjoyed all challenges and the way social media was included as well. Loved the little twist at the end!
Very well done I was hooked from the start.

Sam and Max are contestants on a reality tv show. And as they are pitted against each other, they should hate each other but instead they are attracted to each other. And as the competition heats up they must decide - follow their heart or win the farmhouse ?
Hammer my heart was a surprise read for me. Firstly the authors are totally new to me and secondly the their take on reality tv romance was very refreshing. The comments were hilarious and spot on with what we would read on social media these days.
Overall it was a fun and light hearted read with a perfect dash of romance to heat things up.
My first book by this author duo but definitely not the last.

Very enjoyable book! I’m not huge of reality tv storylines in books. But this one was perfect. This has a lot of laugh out loud moments that I enjoyed! I liked that the the tasks in the competition really had nothing to do with the farmhouse. Max and sams chemistry was fantastic. I would read more from this author!

I don't usually look for reality tv stories but I didn't mind this one. Probably because it wasn't reality tv with a bunch of people back stabbing each other. This reality show has only two contestants, Sam and Max. Sam has grown up working construction and woodworking with her father and uncles. Max doesn't have the same background. The show was odd in that the challenges had little to do with construction. Rob, the host and "star" of the show is prima donna. He constantly refers to Sam as Samantha and I like the Max would call him out for it. Cute read. I will definitely read more by these authors.

I adored this book so much! The laugh out loud humor and the hashtag sections are a bonus to a superb plot and characters that you will love (or hate, in the case of Rob!) Do yourself a favor and read this story!!
Max and Sam are competing on a reality TV show with the prize being a house. The sparks have been flying between these two since the auditions. Both are talented individuals, so who will be the ultimate winner?

Thank you to Net Galley, Victory Publishing and Michelle Angel for the read!
Sam and Max have been selected to compete on a home improvement game show to win a Victorian farmhouse. Each has their own reasons for wanting the house, but in the mix of the competitions, being pitted against each other, and frequent dealings with the ignorant host, they find theirselves questioning if their desires to win the house is worth the sacrifice of their attraction.
Such a cute, quick, rom com book! I loved that Sam was a strong, independent, capable woman and the Max saw her completely as she was and stood up for her. He is definitely a cinnamon roll book boyfriend. I just wish there were more interactions of them together! Most of it was competing only a small amount of times when they were together and could be free to express themselves (since there are always camera crews)

Chemistry that jumps off the pages between the MCs.

A cute, fun story. Sam and Max are pitted against each other in a house renovation reality TV show, where the winner gets the house. Each wants to win for their own reasons, but as feelings start to develop between them, they will need to decide what is more important.
This is pretty much like The Block in book form, with a wholly predictable plot, and would be a nice escape from the heat of Christmas day.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

I always enjoy a competition based romance and this was no exception! I found it was really unique and kept me hooked. I was rooting for this couple all along and was really excited by the outcome of the story!

This book had potential but then flopped at the end. The main characters were charming and I liked the idea of the competition, but the resolution fell flat.

This was so fun to read. I enjoyed the addition of the social media comments and the outlandish challenges were a treat.
Sam and Max are polar opposites who prove the adage about attraction. I enjoyed Sam’s stylists and their book banter.
Thanks NetGalley for a fun few hours.

Hammer My Heart by Michelle Angelle is a sweet and cute read.
Sam and Max are such adorable characters who I immediately was drawn to.
The cast of characters were well-developed and relatable.
I thought this was a sharp, funny clever romance story.
Angelle's writing was on point. And they storyline kept me engaged.

Victory Editing,
Thank You for your generosity and gifting me a copy of this amazing eARC!

This book was fantastic!! I love the fact that unlike a lot of romance books it’s not the same story and tropes just rewritten! This competition, reality tv, book was so intriguing and so incredibly hard to put down! This book is so fun and I’m obsessed with the characters. I was very thrilled about the fact that it’s very hard to predict what’s happening next in this book. This book truly was unique and unlike anything I’ve read before!
The tension and chemistry between the characters was amazing and I’m sooo in love with this book!
Review will be posted on instagram and amazon today as well!!

thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this advanced reader's copy in exchange for my honest review.
the chemistry between Sam and Max was amazing! this was a fun and quick read

I must admit when I started to read the first three chapters I was not a fan. But my feelings about the book changed, when I read a few more chapters.
The story is about Max and Sam(antha) who compete against each other in a TV show. The show contains multiple contests where both competitors have to win points in order to win a Farm house. However, when Sam and Max meet each other for the first time, the attraction is undeniable. They both refuse to let that come between their goal, to win the house.
The TV host of the show is a sexist and a sneaky man. He only seems to be interested in Sam by giving her constant sexist comments during the show. Secretly, Max is completely annoyed by this and wants to punch him, but Sam is not a damsel in distress and fights back.
During every contest, Max and Sam are getting closer to each other. They learn about their insecurities and decide to help each other instead of competing. And it seems there is more between them than friendship.
But when they both learn that the show is more a popularity competition than a skills competition, things change. Will they decide to turn their back to each other and compete? Or will their love be the prize instead of the house?
I wasn’t warming up to the characters when I was reading the first 3 chapters. It would have been nice to know the history more of both characters, before we got into the TV show.
But when I read a few more chapters, I was really getting into the story. Rob was so annoying! I can't believe that Sam and Max didn’t slap him right away. But he certainly made a good villain in this story.
I also liked that the author teased us a lot. There were many moments I felt like “yes, they are going to kiss now”. And then it didn’t happen. It motivated me to keep on reading the story.
And kudos to the author for highlighting a learning disorder in the novel. It is not something you read quite often in novels and that certainly makes the story unique.
In general, I really enjoyed the story. It would be a great romcom movie. I believe some extra chapters to introduce the characters to the readers would have helped to warm up to the characters at the beginning of the story.
I shared my review on this book on Instagram and Goodreads. Please check my links below to check my posts.

What a delightful and original storyline - hard working and beautiful builder Sam and finance expert and former farm boy Max are cast against each other in the reality show Go Hard or Go Home. Both are vying to win a farmhouse that is supposed to be renovated during the show by them. Sam is a Jack of all trades and learned her skills from other father and wants a place to call her own. Max’s family lost their farmhouse and he was unable to save it and wants to win it for them.
Who will win? Can Sam and Max fight their undeniable attraction for each other and fake it for the cameras or will their true feelings come out? Can anyone believe how ridiculous the reality show host Rob is? Are Sam and Max playing the game or are they being played?
As you read this lovely story, these questions are answered in the best way with laughter and love!
Thank you to NetGalley, Michelle Angelle Books, and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for sharing this digital copy with me in exchange for my honest review.

Max and Sam are competing in a reality show. Both want and need to win. Do they follow their hearts?
Love both Sam and Max. They are both terrific characters. Love their banter. Their chemistry is amazing. Really enjoy it.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

super cute book! I loved the connection between Sam and Max. This story felt very unique and was super easy to get into.
